We didn't arrive until about 6.30pm - 3 hours later than we had originally anticipated. We were greeted by Bill who was an extremely pleasant chap who couldn't do more for us. Our room was on the 3rd floor, right at the top but that meant we had lovely views. The hosts were really lovely and went out of their way to make our stay great. They stored our bike for us overnight and most of the next day until we moved on to our next destination. We also met their lovely shepweiller pup Lola who was really well behaved. The Markets Tavern Hotel is a traditional type of pub, somewhere that the 'locals' use and still retains lots of period characteristics.

Amazing staff.. couldn't have made.u feel.more welcome. They made u feel like part of family. I feel like I went to say with my parents. They took us in like we.were family. Daisy the dog in tow. They couldn't do enough. Breakfast was soooo lovely....so much food I was ready to burst. Boiling hot and tip top and quality ingredients...out of this world. I wanted them to adopt us. Haha. Xx 😋 definitely be returning for some tlc... xx

I thought the location was fantastic, in the centre of Brecon, nice views, Morrisons right next door. Loved the friendly countryside feel to the actual pub and quaint rooms to stay in for the hotel, loved there was a fan in my room, very handy cos I'm prone to heat exhaustion due to my medication and it got quite hot at one point. Owners dogs were very cute as well as a bonus 🤣.

Wasn't too keen on the shared bathroom but it's not a big deal just personal preference, nice bathroom though! Spacious. I'd still stay again if I'm ever around Brecon 100%.

The breakfast was very good value, especially if you have the cooked breakfast. I liked having fresh fruit on offer and also low fat yogurts. There was a choice of cereals including sugar-free muesli which was always my choice. And when I had the cooked vegetarian breakfast I was also pleasantly surprised. With plenty of filter coffee (I even had a cappucino on my first morning) and self service brown or white toast.

No alternative to butter was available (although I didn't actually ask for it); similiarly some non-dairy milk e.g. oat milk, would have been a nice/healthy addition. A bedside table and lamp in the bedroom (I booked a single room as I was on my own) would have been very useful.

Great location to 2min walk into the town great amount of parking our actual room was very spacious, clean and airy. land lord Wayne was really nice and I was so greatful that I arrived a lot earlier than I expected and once the pub opened, at 12 Wayne let me check in earlier than normal and made me feel very welcome.

didn’t like the shared bath room but with that said the bathroom is a great size, very clean and the shower was hot which was a bonus.

Good location, very comfortable, clean and there is a fan. Great for the price.

Remember that there is a switch for an electric heater for a shower outside the bathroom. The only thing I didn’t like was the staff. The guy seemed to be bothered by us. It was no big deal, but it made the first impression not good.

The owners were great and there lovely daughter, friendly welcome great communication, nothing was too much trouble There was plenty of parking we had motorbikes and they were safe and secure in the car park, we would highly recommend the breakfast 5 star hotel in great location room very clean and comfortable all the facilities you need, The owners even gave us postcodes for places to visit which was a great help.

Good location. Comfortable rooms. Great value. Very friendly. We were attending a wedding and got let down by our minibus at the last minute the landlord offered to pick us up at the end of the night and had to make 3 trips as there was 10 of us. What a lovely thing to do.

The owners went above and beyond for me. I arrived outside of checkin hours by quite a stretch and they waited up until 11:30pm to let me in, made check in as quick as possible for me to get some rest and showed me to my room all with a genuine smile. I was travelling for a charity hike and they knew of the event and offered me advice for when I’d reach my final destination in regards to parking which was very helpful and relaxed my nerves for in the morning.

loved then bed it was incredibly comfy! the location is perfect to access all over town, I was at a wedding at barn brynych and it was a 10 minute drive in a taxi so it was ideal, Wayne was the perfect host any issues I had he took care of them without a single complaint, top bloke chatted a few times together and he was extremely friendly! highly recommend from me!
