The owners run the restaurant downstairs and the food was very good. I went there on a recommendation by a local and I wasn’t disappointed. The chef owner helped me with directions the next day. I felt all the staff were kind and welcoming.

The bathroom light is automatic but it went out very quickly when I was in the shower. It couldn’t sense me there so I had to open the shower door to switch it back on. Breakfast was not included in the price. Not something I didn’t like but I had an amazing breakfast included at the Manor for the same room price.

The village location near the pretty town of Crickhowell and within walking distance of hills & canals was delightful. The pub food was good and we loved the country style. The rooms were fresh and tastefully decorated, if somewhat compact. Although breakfast is not available on site there are a surprising number of good options within the town and by the canal side

some small housekeeping points, the extractor in bathroom clogged up. The auto light in bathroom going off when in shower or not moving within range of sensor.

The Horseshoe Inn was perfect. Lovely location, comfortable bed. It was nice to see lots of locals using this pub along with the restaurant. The food was so delicious, cooked to order by chef Raymond, who came round after the meal to see you were happy with everything. We were looked after by Sheila who was lovely very friendly & chatty even though she was busy with all the customers. Thank you Sheila. This pub is a must we will be staying again & recommending it. Thank you to all the staff for making us feel welcome.

The only thing I would say it would have been nice to have breakfast included even if it was just cereal toast tea or coffee. But saying that it hadn’t put us off we will definitely being staying again.

Location was brilliant, especially if you liked walking. Recommend the canal walk starting further up the road. Also, good lunches and drinks in the bar below. There was no breakfast included but you could go into Crickhowell after 9am and get a full English at the old Courthouse restaurant.

Bathroom light was on a timed motion sensor which meant waving a hand about every few minutes. This failed to work in the shower so you had to open the shower door and wave your hand.

Everything very clean and bed v comfy. Good shower. Staff very friendly, gave me a recommendation for breakfast as not served in pub (which I did know). Guests welcome to use the coffee machine for breakfast though. I was directly above the pub seating out on the road and was expecting some noise on a Friday night but not excessive. Staff very apologetic about the fire alarm which went off in the middle of the night. Excellent location for a trail race the following morning and would stay again

The carpark behind the pub is small and a bit tight. I was a bit worried about getting blocked in as I was leaving v early. It would also have been a challenge to get a v big car in there as it was already full.

Easy to find, great location for Brecons. Really friendly people on arrival. Nice touches in a very clean room. Great food and service. It’s done well.

The noise from the pub itself was not a problem at all - it’s clear in the description that it is there but it’s muffled and stops about 11. Unfortunately we could hear the television in the neighbouring room until well past 2am. Not really the pubs fault but our sleep was very disturbed. Shower was awkward to use as the door was broken and water temp tricky, sensor light leaves you in the dark with shower door closed

Nice room, clean and well appointed. I think we were directly above the door on the photo. A proper old Inn. Great stone staircase leading to the rooms. No noise from pub below, and that was a Friday night. The staff were very friendly. The bar sells a good range of beers. The chef is Jamaican, and the food is amazing! We had goat curry and jerk chicken. We were able to find a space in the small car park.

The toilet seat did not fit properly. It should be changed.

What a delightful pub with rooms! The staff are great, friendly and efficient, nothing appearing to be too much trouble. I checked into room 2, which was lovely and comfortable, very clean, and ideal for my 2 night stay. The TV caused me great amusement, as it mysteriously switches itself on, in the wee small hours, so my suggestion is to switch it off at the plug socket! As I was visiting family, who live close by, we opted to dine in on Saturday evening. Oh my word, the dishes were delicious!! I chose the Coconut & Prawn curry served in half a pineapple, as did my sister, with my brother in law choosing the Beef Rib! The dishes have a Jamaican twist to them, using Welsh ingredients, I can't praise the dishes enough. Breakfast is continental, with lots to choose from. Fresh fruits, yoghurts, cereals, pastry items, bread to toast, crumpets, Welsh cakes, cheeses, hams, as well loads of hot beverage choices. A hot bacon roll is also available, which I can verify, was great. I will definitely stay again!

Loved everything about The Horseshoe

The Horseshoe is a charming old inn and our room was very nice.

I didn't realise that it is not located in the town of Crickhowell so we had to keep getting in the car to access anything. We were disappointed that we had to walk to a local hotel for our breakfast. We quite understood that this was due to staff illness but the weather was often wet. However, The Rectory is a lovely hotel, staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good.

We got a family suite, which meant that our 21 year old daughter had her own small bedroom to herself. She loved that. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The evening meal was very tasty.

Slightly unusual that breakfast was not available. But we were warned in advance and there were a lot a other good options a short walk away.
