All staff, including management, were very friendly, professional and helpful. The venue was dog friendly and the few owners who brought dogs when having meals kept their dogs under control and there were never any problems. The cost of the cooked breakfast was very reasonable when comparing with other eating places and the food provided. The room, whilst not large, was big enough for our two nights. Great shower space [we are not small people]. Enjoyed the hot drinks on offer and the TV in the room. Wifi was easy to connect to. Large free car park is definitely nice to see after a long drive [not like some venues with tiny car parks].

Our only down side was that because the Inn is part of the Marston group, the general food menu is a standard Marston one. It is a bit limited if looking for something without chips. Apart from that we cannot fault the food. It was all properly cooked and not badly priced. [went to a fancy place once and had a raw beefburger - yuck]. Lamb and Flag Inn were okay.

First time staying here and we were not disappointed, room was great, clean roomy etc, if I was to say anything negative it would be about having a slip mat for the bath but that would be it. Views from the inn are lovely The staff were extremely polite and helpful and most of all had a smile on their faces and looked happy. We had food in the evening which was very nice also the breakfast was lovely and was served by a lovely lady who was also very friendly. You should be proud of your team as we’ve stayed many places and not received the welcome we did at yours. Would definitely return and would recommend this place :)

Two great things with our room - the lighting over the bed was bright so I could read easily - it's usually dingy. And there was not just a shower but a bath with plenty of really hot water - fantastic after a 14 mile walk! Location was excellent for the walks we were doing. Easy parking. It was very quiet- tho we were not there at a weekend.

Range of breakfast options was a bit constrained- I couldn't have cereal with my scrambled egg on toast, and the continental breakfast was either toast or pastry ,not both as I am used to! Breakfast starts at 8, I would prefer 7 30 - but I guess staff don't want to..

Excellent, helpful and friendly staff. I was helped with my luggage, nice touch. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Evening meals in the restaurant were good quality pub food, loved the fish & chips, the house salad and found a few vegetarian choices. Prices were reasonable. 25 minutes walk to town, using the streets via the housing estate or country lane rather than busy A road. Plenty of parking. Would stay again.

The TVs in room 3 and 5 did not work throughout our stay, problems with the aerials, no signal.

Fabulous friendly staff and a great location for walking. We walked up Sugar Loaf, by the river into town and to the local vineyard really easily without getting the car out. Easy access to bar, restaurant and garden, it was very relaxing all round. Lots of parking and charging points for EVs.

Breakfast menu was a bit unusual in its price structure and it would have been nice if our room was serviced. Not big things and easily overcome by helpful staff.

The property was very well positioned for the two activities we were carrying out on our visit to Abergavenny. We attended the Borough Theatre on the Saturday for a concert and after an excellent breakfast climbed Sugar Loaf on the Sunday morning. The property was clean and tidy and our bed was very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend the property and hope to stay again in the future.

WARM Comfortable clean room All staff were pleasant friendly and helpful Breakfast was good piping hot and freshly cooked. Dining at Lamb and Flag was good value. All served piping hot . Good portions. Service good staff very pleasant.

Steep stairs and right hand hand rail did not go up to end of flight of stairs. The steps were not wide enough . The same applied to the couple of steps on the landing to the rooms. Not wide enough.

Great location and ticked all the boxes. Good food and drink at a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times even at the end of the day. Ample car parking space and free. It is close to the A40 which is busy but it does not effect your sleep. Well recommended and we will definitely be there again to stay.

It allows dogs into the building so you will hear barking from time to time. Only 5 rooms so very close together and the doors banging when people are returning to their rooms at night.

What a lovely place to stay. The staff were friendly, efficient, and very welcoming. Lewis, Chey, and Kat were excellent. We had an evening meal and breakfast, and both were lovely. The room was very clean, modern, and comfortable.

Our only observation was that the pillows were hard. There weren't any negatives about the lamb and flag, infact we asked if we could stay an extra night, but they were fully booked.

We stayed in a twin bedroom which was spotlessly clean and tidy. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and was very peaceful at night. The shower is great and there was a bath too. The location is fabulous, with beautiful views, and is great for exploring Abergavenny. The staff were lovely and very welcoming. We had a very nice meal in the restaurant. Free carparking is great. We loved our stay. Very good price too.

Was a long wait in the restaurant for food, but it was a bank holiday, so we did expect there to be a slight delay. We loved everything else.
