What a great spot we found! 30 min train ride from Cardiff in a quiet residential area with a very efficient and exceptionally friendly staff. The owner checked us in, showed us our room, told us about places of interest in the area. Our room was comfortable, had everything NF we’d need, the bathroom was great size with a lovely powerful shower. Spent the first night in the pub/restaurant. Great value for money, tasty food and it’s obviously a very popular place as it was very busy for a Thursday evening. Everyone seemed to know the staff well too. Bar staff were very efficient, and remembered our order, whilst making recommendations! Slept well and came down to breakfast to welcomes and freshly made drinks. Full English, plus cereal and toast was £12 - and we could have had any version of cooked breakfast. Chatting with the owner revealed new information (no uber in area but told us what they use instead) which saved us stress about how to get to train station (6 min drive) We had the day and night in Cardiff and got back to our room which had been cleaned/replenished even though we only stayed the two nights! I can honestly say I’m so pleased we found this little inn. It was such a nice stay and I’d definitely return if visiting south wales again!

There’s nothing that I could say I didn’t like about this stay. Even the painters who were working on the stairway this morning when we left were friendly and helpful!

Depending on which room you were allocated you either had a lovely large bedroom with wet room bathroom or a very small room with a very small bathroom! Having said that both rooms were clean and comfortable and it was just luck of the draw. Guess which room we got?!! Staff were extremely friendly and looked after us well. Extensive menu in the bar for evening food and could pre-order cooked breakfast for the following morning. Chose this place as had parking and was close for visiting Big Pit mining attraction nearby.

Had to log into Apps to watch TV or use Little Crown connections for BBC/ITV channels which buffered all the time so unable to catch up with news.

Our sixth visit to the Little Crown. The rooms are of a good size, the beds are comfortable and the area is very quiet. The showers are powerful. The staff are really friendly and hard working. The dinner menu is wide making it easy to find something you like. The quality of the food is good pub grub with good portions. The wine offering is quite small (4 reds, 4 whites) but the prices are reasonable and we settled on a well known white Rioja. Breakfast is freshly cooked and you can basically make up your own meal. There is plenty of parking.

What an excellent find. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in this area, we highly recommend The Little Crown Inn. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The property is warm, clean and so well presented. We had an evening meal which was excellent. Very good portions and great value for money. Superb service. The local ale is delicious and a large selection of beers. The owner and staff are so friendly and helpful. Our room for the evening was well presented. Bed comfortable, shower powerful and hot. An area of the building which is quiet so a good nights sleep. Cooked breakfast perfect. Can not fault this stay and hope to use again in the future.

It was all fantastic. Friendly staff made us feel welcome from the outset, more like long list friends they were so pleasant. Locals were pleasant and jovial. Saul was all you could wish for in a host, thank you. Great food, with quality ingredients, fantastically cooked and marvellously presented. Very tasty and very filling. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will be back.

One evening a roofing gang booked in, they weren't very considerate rolling in early hours of the morning making their presence known. Not the fault of the hosts who apologised profusely, they were genuine in their apologies. Apart from those early morning muppets everything else was exceptional for our stay in Wales. The other thing we didn't like was having to leave!

Incredible value for money. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and comfortable. Even though there were lots of people there celebrating Christmas, we were able to get a space in the car park and everything was nice and quiet once the bar closed. We had dinner in the restaurant, which we really enjoyed. Chose not to have breakfast but I expect the quality of the offering would have been the same as dinner. The location is a bit off the beaten track but worth finding - a real hidden gem.

We like a lie in, so the only thing that would have made it super perfect would have been a 11am rather than 10am check out. Not a complaint but a suggestion for next time. We will be coming back!

Stayed here whilst visiting Bike Park Wales Only about 30 minutes from the venue to The bike park The owners were super friendly and an absolute pleasure even though i accidentally set the fire alarm off with the steam that came from the shower because i left the door open to the bathroom I was staying there with my son and they were very accommodating even though we didn't check in till about 9:00 o'clock at night The rooms were clean and tidy the beds were very comfortable and we had tea and coffee facilities in the room I'm looking to go back to bike park wales soon and I will be rebooking with the little crown inn again hopefully if they have availability

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. From the lovely ladies who were at the bar and the chef who catered for us very late after delayed trains, to the owners who are equally friendly and charismatic. Vegan options for food and really adaptable for breakfast. We used this lovely pub as a base to get into Cardiff to watch the rugby. Easy to get in out using local taxis and the local train. If only the rugby had been as good as the stay!!! Next year 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏉🤞

A lovely place with a super friendly team. Pub, restaurant and rooms, all great! Very good selection of drinks and a great menu selection. Food was spot on, we had a home made curry in the evening and an impressive full breakfast in the morning, using locally sourced produce. Check in was smooth and owners were very accommodating.

Kitchen closes at 8pm not an issue as we fortunately just caught. We had not noticed when booking so, not sure if it is referenced but it could potentially be an issue if arriving later.

A very warm welcome from the landlord, his wife and other staff. The chefs (3 of them!) were excellent. The cooked breakfast was freshly made, tasty and very generous amounts. Continental breakfast was beautifully presented and far too much for my wife to eat! Evening meal in restaurant was excellent in quality and amounts and very reasonably priced. Wines and beers were excellent.
