We booked a family room as it was the only double bed remaining on this day and were very pleased. The room itself was spacious with plenty of storage, the bathroom had plenty of natural light and a high flow shower with high and low heads which was easy to control the temp on. Tea/coffee tray was well stocked with a nice touch of some very tasty welsh cakes. Towels were fluffy and smelt great. We had read about road noise but the sliding double glazing would keep it all out and we had no problems anyway. Breakfast was served at tables marked up with visitors names which was a nice welcome. The food itself all fresh and cooked to perfection (poached eggs) there was a good varied list of choices so no one should be disappointed and nothing was too much trouble. Coffee was to our liking and plentiful. Range of drinks excellent. The evening meals chosen from a varied menu which also featured daily and weekly specials were prepared in good time and could be served in a variety of areas inside and out all spotless, they were well proportioned and cooked as requested (steak), tasted fresh and seasoned perfectly (to our taste) all the staff were helpful, cheerful and it all felt very natural and not forced. All in all a definite return venue. (and Usk is interesting and well worth another visit} Thank you.

We had a very nice, comfortable and spacious room with patio area and table and chairs in the garden. A bottle of water and some lovely welsh cakes were included as well as the usual tea and coffee. There was a lovely walk in shower with a non slip base which we appreciated as my husband has mobility difficulties Food in the restaurant was also very good. We'll stay again the next time we are in the area.

I don't suppose there is much that can be done without major strucural alterations but the floor above creaked and it sounded as if the people in the room above were giants.

Generously sized room, with modern shower room. Good selection of hot drinks you could make yourself in the room, including welsh hot chocolate. Had bottle of water and fresh welsh cakes which was a lovely extra touch in the room. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order. Evening meals we didn't have but they looked great. Service was friendly. Pub was busy and had a wonderful atmosphere. You know the place is going to be good when locals are in there. Worth the money.

A lot of traffic on the road to the side of the property unfortunately.

Everything was immaculately clean, beds were comfortable, there was everything for our needs i.e. hand and shower soap, water in room together with tea, coffee, biscuits and welsh cakes. Plenty of storage space, but we were only staying for one night, and a TV that actually worked for the news etc. The restaurant and bar areas are well furnished and the food is excellent.

There was nothing that we didn't like. We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times, together with their sister hotel in the centre of Usk. Whilst initially apprehensive about road noise st The Greyhound, it was not an issue, just a rumble which did not bother us. The rooms are well sound-proofed.

The location of the property was too far away from Usk itself to walk into Usk would have been over an hour & an hour to walk back to the accommodation couldn’t get a taxi & was informed by staff taxi service was very poor in that area the food was superb a little pricey but we had no choice but to eat there as there wasn’t anywhere else to eat within walking distance the breakfast was superb with plenty of choice & cooked fresh to order & was plentiful

The food was pricey & the cost of drinks was pricey & the accommodation was too far away from Usk & local attractions had to be reached by car as it wouldn’t have been accessible on foot

We had a wonderful welcome from Kelly who attended to our every need with warmth, care and cheer. All the staff were lovely, helpful, friendly and polite and they all went above and beyond to make our stay very happy and comfortable. The food was delicious, the drinks were kept and served just right and our accommodation was superb. The gardens, too were beautiful and so well kept. We loved all the little special touches which made The Greyhound unique and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much, Kelly and team

Having to say goodbye.

Lovely stay at the Greyhound Inn & Hotel. It is a little out of the way (Newport is around a 25 minute drive which has a direct train to Cardiff that takes around 15 minutes). Lots of parking at the Inn. Great pub and lots of people who were not guests were at the pub late afternoon when we arrived. Staff are very friendly. The accommodation is in a lovely historic building that is separate to the pub/restaurant. The room was basic but with plenty of storage, a big dresser and a couple of chairs. Nice to have teas, bottled water and biscuits provided. Nice clean linen and towels. Multiple choices at breakfast with fresh coffee and juices. We only stayed one night but would have been happy to stay on for longer - thank you for having us!

Bathroom sink and shower could have been cleaned a little better but that's just being fussy, the room itself was fresh and clean.

Lovely traditional pub restaurant and hotel near Usk. It is very dog friendly and well maintained. We stayed at a ground floor room with access to the garden. The room itself was spacious with everything you need including dog blanket, bowl and biscuits. It also had a clean bathroom with a nice shower. We were impressed by the breakfast choices in the morning and that includes our dog which was allowed in and had a complementary dog sausage.

The only thing that stops me from giving a full 10 score is that there a busy and noisy main road near by. It calms down in the evening through so it does not affect the sleep.

Kelly and the whole team are so welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. You are made to feel like friends from the moment you arrive to when you leave. The rooms are very homely with lots of space. The pub is just perfect, and the Butty Bach on draft is a particular favourite of ours! This is our second stay and we will definitely be returning in the near future. Thank you for making our stay so special 🥰🍻

If I had one thing to change, it would just be the tv in room 6! It's a little small.

The Inn was very welcoming and had a warm atmosphere on arrival and in the evening in the bar by the open fire and the cosy bar surroundings. The beer/wine and food were all very good with an ample but clearly well cooked and presented menu. My room was comfortable and warm with all the amenities I needed.

The only issue was I realised in the morning the HOT towel rail to warm the bathroom wasn't working, so a little chilly after showering. I did report it to the staff in the morning.
