The welcome and facilities were great especially the new lift to access the bedrooms. The restaurant staff and the care taken for my evening meal as I'm coeliac to ensure everything was safe was exceptional, special thank you to Richard

Breakfast was very nice with good quality ingredients, but the choices were disappointing with only tea, coffee, and water, no juices. The only hot breakfast choice was full English, and there were no cereals, yoghurt , fruit or pastries which is standard fare in most hotels

Location was perfect, and there was ample parking. Once local ale tap was restored (on second day) I had the drink I wanted. Staff were excellent, especially Grace in the bar.

As perhaps one of the oldest guests there (but not physically challenged except in age!), I would have appreciated NOT being at the very top of a winding staircase. I must remember to specify a double room, although I now travel as a single, unfortunately. Curious room with bathroom open to the rest of the room, and no proper shower (which I prefer) except for hand-held. Most disappointed in lack of choice at breakfast (full English, full English or full English!), little else offered. I got the impression that breakfast was precooked buffet style, and staff just piled it on plates.

I couldn’t fault the facilities, cleanliness, staff and location. Perfect for our one night stay due to a wedding nearby.

We stayed in one of the rooms on the top floor and it was so hot. Even with a window open and fan on, the temperature didn’t change. Admittedly, it was one of the hottest days of the year, but I’m not sure an older couple of those with young kids would have coped. As you left the room and descended downstairs, you could feel the temperature drop instantly.

We enjoyed the hotel location. The staff were very friendly & nothing was too much trouble & very professional. The room was comfortable & warm, with a four poster bed. The food was very good & well presented, especially the breakfast. Check in was quick & easy. The car parking excellent & adjacent to the hotel.

We could here a little noise from the bar below.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant was beautiful, the only down side was we were put in an old dated room across the road which I was disappointed with, but the room was clean, just a game everything in it was so old and very outdated which didn’t match up to the bar and restaurant l.

We stayed in room 3 and it didn’t have a shower! There is a tiny shower head on the bath, the bath that doesn’t have a shower screen/curtain and there’s no bath plug. Made showering very difficult and kept flooding the bathroom, please install a proper shower for your next guests as that one would be better for washing a dog!

Full English cooked to order. Good quality but the only choice available. No cereal or fruit but what we found rathervodd, no fruit juice. This is normally standard in most hotels. No air con or fan and we picked the honest weekend of the tear. Couldn't sleep!

Generous portions well-cooked breakfasts. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Gardens really lovely to sit in the shade when heatwave struck.

Some uncertainty re communication between management staff and customers eg whether room would be refreshed each day. Perhaps bottled water could be available in bedrooms?

From the moment we arrived the staff were so warm and welcoming. The hotel and bar are kept to a lovely standard together with the bedrooms. Great location for river walks and views castle. Excellent food. Thank you all for a great stay 😀

Excellent hotel in the centre of Usk. Easy parking, great staff, excellent food and drinks, good beer garden, a short walk to the river for the Usk Duck Race!

Nothing really. No a/c but that’s true of most UK hotels.
