The staff were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The food was really good. It's a very relaxing place in beautiful surroundings. The room was clean and well equipped. It did get very warm, but there was a fan, which was very useful. Would return.

The room was a little small as lots of furniture left little space. I did struggle having to climb into the bath for a shower as I have a disability. Luckily, my husband was able to help.. Next time, I would enquire if there were rooms with showers and no bath.

Hotel staff were lovely and very helpful, especially at breakfast when I needed gluten free food. I was asked if I would like a freshly prepared breakfast to avoid the cross contamination of the buffet, and the breakfast that arrived did not disappoint. Huge portion and delicious. My partner used the swimming pool and spa facilities and was happy with what he found everything was working. The room was comfortable with a hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities, ironing board, fan, iron and safe provided. Very clean room with toiletries in the bathroom.

The hotel is a little dated in its decor. Our room was very very warm even though we had turned the thermostat down and opened the window. We ended up sleeping with the fan on but this was even still very warm. The towels provided were a bit old, the edges had ripped and were a bit tatty, but still usable.

Excellent welcome by reception, the room was good and the evening meal and breakfast the next morning was first class.

Nothing really, just a couple of very minor things, the checkout was 10, personally I would prefer 11, which a lot of establishments are now doing. Breakfast finished at 09:30, as it was the weekend I would have preferred 10. Finally the Spa facilities are excellent, only small issue here is that you need a £1 coin to use a locker, it would be good if reception could mention this before you use the Spa facilities. These are only my suggestions and in no way reflect on our stay, we have stayed at the Parkway many times before, and will no doubt return several times more.

Staff were very welcoming. Room was spotlessly clean and there was a lovely atmosphere in the lounge area. Room was cosy and tastefully decorated, despite being a bit dated. Excellent value for money , bars meals were decently priced and enjoyable.

The room was so very warm. Heating was turned down fully but a fan was provided. Which helped, but not ideal. Breakfast ended at 9.30, check out at 10. And thought it was a rush in the morning, especially trying to fit in using the facilities aswell.

We've been staying at The Parkway for the past twenty years or so. With family nearby in Cwmbran, Pontypool and Newport, this hotel provides an excellent home from home. A fiftieth birthday in 2022 and many bookings for the Autumn Internationals and the Six Nations (ticket price being affordable!) over this time, we always look forward to visiting. The rogue chickens in the car park are always good value.The staff are helpful, attentive and know what to do if you have any concerns.

Firstly, the staff were probably the most pleasant and wlelcoming I have seen in a hotel for a long time. Every member always acknowledged you be it reception, bar or house keeping they really great. breakfast was good, and again the staff in the restaurant were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.

Bath towels were not very big, no air conditioning, though a decent quality fan was provided. Room service was only till 9pm, which may work for some but this weekend we could have done with it a bit later.

I sometimes had breakfast in restaurant, sometimes in my room. I was often not back till 8ish so often had dinner in room too. Meals were wonderful. Staff were excellent. The room was comfortable and I was lucky to have a view of the gardens. All the staff were friendly and took an interest in my house move. I had a bout of sciatica during my stay and staff were kind enough to get me ice. Cath was wonderful. She always made sure I was ok and well looked after Such a kind and pleasant atmosphere everywhere.

My only wish was a lift to my upstairs room. On checking in , receptionist did look to see if there was a ground floor room for me , but all were taken. It states on booking form , no lift and add details of any disabilities, but the hotel was just what I wanted , so booked anyway.

The hotel and the rooms could do with an upgrade, its looked the same for years. The bed was not very comfortable the mattress was far too soft for me. Ive stayed in nicer hotels for less money during the week. I stayed for my mums wake, and the food was quite bland and not a lot of choice. Bar food nice but overpriced for what it was.

Fantastic Hotel! Upon arrival everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and especially to my little dog which was so lovely. We had the most wonderful spacious room, very dog friendly with bowls, bed and snacks. The welcome letter was brilliant! The hotel and our room was very clean, and had everything we needed! We had a very comfortable and peaceful sleep, unfortunately we couldn’t stay for breakfast, but the other food we had at hotel was marvellous! Would recommend, and stay again!

leisure facilities, comfort and cleanliness of room

Shower was really hot on coolest setting. breakfast not ready until 8.00. We were allowed to start continental however we were travelling to a sporting event and i asked if there was any chance of bringing it out a little early and the answer was no. Typical grumpy chef unfortunately. So whilst overall we were impressed with the hotel and location, i would stay again with breakfast not startign until 8.00
