We were there for Bruce Springsteen concert in Cadiff, it was very quiet considering it's near the motorway. Could have done with the door to the street being able to use entering the building as we had to go round to the carpark to get in, but could get out through that door. There is a nice bar about3 mins walk away the tavern really nice lot of customers and entertainment of some sort every night. Newport town centre is only 30min walk. Staff very helpfull and plenty of tea milk and coffee in rooms only had to ask.if you want more. All I can say is we never had anything to complain about that goes to all the train staff as well as they were so helpfull. Really nice people are the Welsh.

When we arrived at IBIS in Newport we were greeted with a smile! Our room was spotless and we had air conditioning! IBIS had trash and recycling containers in our room as well as in the lobby area. Their breakfast was pretty decent with many options. Staff was resourceful with transportation information and friendly.

We walked from the train station to our hotel. Bare in mind we had no clue where it was, having never been there. The Google directions had us walking alongside traffic, unsafe, and there were limited sidewalks we could use. This is no reflection on IBIS, but there needs to be a safer walk route available for those of us that choose to walk to our destinations via google to get a feel for the city or town.

For me it was a Hotel that met what I needed. Cheap a place to sleep , shower & located within 20 mins of where I needed to be the following day. This met all the requirement. The staff I met were polite & helpful. The room was small but since I was not holding a rave it did not matter. Bed was comfortable, shower did its job. Toilet space a little cramped. Wifi free & good speed.

Biggest gripe for me was the toilet space was very cramped & toilet very low. I'm not the tallest of people but when both knees are touching each side wall when sitting down for dump - you would find more space in a public toilet cubicle!

The staff were genuinely lovely-so warm and welcoming. Nothing was too much to ask. On our last night we had a pizza which was so tasty! The lovely lady who cooked it for us was so chatty and helpful. (She was the late shift). On our last morning the cup for my husbands tea was dirty (I'd filled it with hot water from the machine and it was an awful colour) My husband showed the young lady who was on shift. She took it and put it in the dish washer. While we were eating our breakfast, she came and checked all the cups and took 3 away for a re-wash-I call that professionalism! After our breakfast, my husband apologised about the cup and she said " I'd rather you tell me you're not happy with something, so I can fix it straight away". That's what I call a quality staff member! The lovely cleaner made our bed properly after we told her not to worry as we were there for a few days. She gave us more milk and coffee and was really lovely. We'd definitely stay again!

We would have liked 2 chairs in our room as it was a double room, but it's not a big thing. A hair dryer would have been nice too

A Pleasant Stay with Great Service and Practical Comfort We recently stayed at this hotel and, although it was quite basic in terms of facilities, it delivered exactly what we needed: cleanliness, comfort, and genuinely friendly service. The staff were consistently helpful and welcoming, making our stay feel easy and stress-free. One of the highlights was the breakfast. Despite the simplicity of the hotel overall, the breakfast selection was surprisingly thoughtful, catering to different dietary needs—including gluten-free and dairy-free options, which was a real plus. The location is also very convenient—just off the main road, which made accessing Cardiff quick and straightforward whether by car, not sure about public transport. If you're looking for an affordable, no-frills place to stay with good standards of cleanliness and hospitality, this is a great choice. We left feeling rested and well taken care of.

The room was comfy and very clean. The shower room and toilet was a little odd but perfectly usable.When I lay on the bed it felt a liitle hard but I went out like a light and had an excellent nights sleep. This was the first time I had travelled with my dog and she settled in immediately and too slept soundly. The lovely lady on reception when I arrived was welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Although they only serve a Continental Breakfast the food was lovely and plentiful with lots of choice. I preferrd it to a full cooked breakfast. I would return if I am in that area again.

The car park is a little small, I was lucky as staff helped me to find a space that was suitable for me as I have mobility issues and need to open my door quite wide to get in and out. I have applied for and hoping to get a Blue Badge which will help my parking problems. This was a minor issue but worth noting.

The meat feast pizza was one of the best I've ever had. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Space between the foot of the bed and the wall could have been a little bigger, every time I walked around the bed I either scuffed my legs on the bed, or my shoulder on the wall, and sometimes both. The heater was difficult to master and control. The room was either too hot or too cold, I never found that 'happy medium'. The toilet 'room' was tiny; probably the minimum space necessary. The toilet bowl appeared to be lower than standard too. When I tried to book a second night, the phone just rang and rang and was never answered.

It was a budget hotel, so I was expecting basic accommodation. The staff were most helpful, I'd e-mailed the hotel with queries and had a prompt response. The online booking in form the day before was great. We arrived earlier than the booking in time, our room was ready and we went straight up to it. We could then enjoy our day without having to return later to get our key. Marvellous. The room was clean and comfortable. All you needed for a nights stay. Exiting by midday is a bonus if you had been to an event like we had been to. Night staff were on duty on our return to help out if needed.

Easy to find and get to . The room was cleaned every day and clean towels and bed made every day The lighting was good the shower was lovely the safety aspect of the window opening was good .and where the weather was so hot the air conditioning unit was a blessing at night . .

I didn't like the fact of the lavatory being very low compared to a normal sized toilet, and I felt that the toilet was put into a broom cupboard. The bed was a very thin mattress with a topper on top, which slipped every night.

We like a full English breakfast which wasn't available so we ate out. The shower was lovely, the bed was comfortable. The room was quiet with the window closed. The towels were lovely.

Didn't like the shower being in the room. No privacy at all! The toilet was too low to the floor, for some unexplained reason! I would have preferred a separate shower room for privacy. I had to cover the mirror whilst dressing myself after showering because my reflection was on full view of my room mate! Not good. There could be more hooks on the wall for towels or coats etc.
