Having read some reviews that it was a little tired, my expectations weren't high, but I was really pleasantly surprised. My room decor didn't feel tired at all! The building is beautiful, really charming. And I really enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi and steam room. Loved hearing the water feature in the courtyard. I thought it would keep me awake, but it lulled me to sleep. The whole atmosphere of the hotel and grounds was tranquil and I can genuinely say I came away refreshed! (And that's despite it being a really busy weekend with a wedding party etc.) I loved my stay, and I will definitely go back again. Thank you.

The bathroom vents were quite noisy - I wonder if there was some echo coming from other guests bathrooms? It would be nice to have lotion in the rooms. Also maybe a box of facial tissues?

Great peaceful location. Super friendly and helpful staff, especially Ella.

Food wasn't amazing and took a while

*Our room (Mountain room) was beautiful, it was big and kept to the features of the hotel style. *Breakfast was delicious so we chose to have it every morning after originally booking room only. *Staff were helpful, friendly and lovely, always available. *Spa/Health Club has superb facilities and the pool, steam Room, jacuzzi, sauna were all expertly looked after, we used it everyday, free towels to use too, pool was warm and very enjoyable *Bar area was a lovely quiet social area, just right to wind down from a day exploring or visiting places. Well done to the staff that make it such a great experience, definitely will be coming back for another visit.

The tennis courts needed some new nets/attention.

I loved the grounds and the history of the building. It is so lovely. It is going through a renovation, so the room we stayed in was pleasant and tidy but had to remind ourselves it's an old building. The staff were absolutely wonderful. Nothing was ever a bother. So friendly and accommodating. We were so lucky with the weather. There was a wedding happening at the same time as our first night, so we were worried about noise, but it didn't bother us at all. Loved the cats who also live on the grounds. We will definitely be back.

When the rooms are redecorated this hotel will definitely jump up from being a 3star.

The spa/pool area was lovely. Very clean with lots of space. The rooms were very spacious and ideal for what we needed for 1 night. Clean, tidy and with a lovely view of the field behind. The bar area was relaxed and welcoming, the girls that work there were all so friendly. They made sure that everyone had everything they needed and greeted everyone with a smile.

Our room was very spacious, clean and tidy but it looked like the cracks had been filled on the walls recently and there hadn't been a chance to sand them down and repaint. There wasn't a big light, there were 4 lamps which wasn't a massive issue but would have been nice to have a big light around the mirror.

I had read some bad reviews about the place do was worried. The building is 16th century so it’s unfair for people to label the place as tired and dirty. We loved this place and had “The forest room” yes the carpet is tired and needs a refit but the room as a whole was beautiful with period features. Beautiful views from all windows. Bed was super comfortable. Food was lovely I had the Singapore noodles with chilli beef. We didn’t have breakfast with our stay. The highlight for me was the amazing pool, jacuzzi and sauna area. Absolute bliss! We will definitely return. Probably one of the more relaxing nights away we have had in a long time. ☺️

The staff was absolutely amazing! So friendly and kind. The receptionist was so lovely. Always greeted nice by every single staff member. We had breakfast and dinner there, as vegan I absolutely loved that they had many vegan options on the menu! And there vegan meatballs and pasta was to die for! For the breakfast there wasn’t a massive variety for vegans but I did love the mushrooms. The food is displayed lovely and it’s alot to choose from if ur not vegan. But this didn’t put us off as what I did have was lovely and the food was amazing. The pool facilities was amazing and so relaxing. The staff made us feel so welcomed and they was so lovely definitely the best staff members I’ve seen in a hotel very professional and kind.

The first night we stayed in economy double room and the room above was being very loud and the floor boards was so squeaky they kept us awake all night. But once we reported the problem they was very apologetic and upgraded us to a better room! The staff is amazing and so so helpful and kind

This stay was much more pleasant than last time. Our rooms were good, comfortable and warm. The spa and gym were working well and hot tub and gym equipment was great! Staff were really super helpful! We had a problem with booking.com regarding changing the dates of our booking and Richard was amazing at sorting it all out for us. Louisa then double checked with me on the day of our arrival which made me feel much more relaxed on the long journey getting there.

The only problem we had was that our bedroom faced the court yard where people go to smoke and might be chatting loudly. We were woken up by this one night.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating. A number of them went out of their way to help me, as I woke up quite early and didn't want to disturb the rest of the family. One man (from the night shift) made me a cup of tea in the bar and then the gym staff very kindly opened early to give me something to do while my family slept. The restaurant and reception staff were all lovely too. I would definitely want to stay there again if we are visiting the ICC Wales. They were also really helpful as we added another person to the booking at short notice and the room we got was very big and comfortable for 3 people.

I just wish we could have stayed there longer!

Plenty of free parking available which was good. The gym and spa facilities were great! The room was fairly spacious and bed was clean. Hot breakfast buffet was decent. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Overall, good value. I would recommend for short stays.

The room was quite dark. Better lighting would have been nicer. The shower in our bathroom was slightly faulty - the water temperature was fine, but we had some problems with the left tap not turning off properly. Also, the water kept splashing everywhere despite using the shower curtain. The rooms are not soundproof meaning you can hear what neighbouring rooms are doing.
