it was the first time of having a trip on my own. the staff was brilliant and made me feel welcome. the room was very clean and even in an attic room there were able to sleep 5. 2 double beds and a camp bed. plenty of tea, coffee, sugar and even loads of milk ( which usually you're always short off). the room. was already warm with heating on and the beds clean and very comfy. could not fault my stay at all.

tbh nothing i did not like, and I'm the type of person to say if there was. only thing I found hard was booking taxis which isn't to do with the hotel but to just keep in mind if visiting the area.

I enjoyed the Pub/hotel being on the High street, had enough facilities around locally. Locals were friendly and welcoming, providing you like to socialise, if your someone that stays in there room, you miss out on getting to know the area and the locals. Loved the journey from home(Suffolk) across to Wales.. Got National Express to Newport, departed coach, layby by shopping center opposite bus station.. crossed the road to bus station, get the 151 bus, which pulls up outside hotel.. Didn't need taxis. 👍. Disco on Saturday and had a great sunday lunch👌. Enjoyed seeing friends and had enjoyed the relaxing bar. Loved my room, haven't got a large bed.. Spacious

Loved my room but didn't like the stairs, not hotels fault I have problems with my leg's.. Just took my time getting up and down.. No worries after a while..and got help with case up the stairs👍😉 The bar some days earlier in the week closed earlier than expected.. But understand if it goes quite after 9pm during the week.. Pub busier during the weekend and afternoons during the day..

Lovely little room for a nights stay. Great facilities. Very clean room and hotel. Rooms are accessible by stairs, not sure if there is a lift but best to ring and check. Really comfy bed and a good sleep. Breakfast was good & staff were very friendly and accommodating. I was even informed by staff & locals that a live band was on and I was invited to join the evening, which was nice! Very friendly and welcoming people and only a 2 minute walk from the train station. Overall, the hotel looked beautiful and had a modern, cosy, clean feel to it, I instantly felt comfortable and relaxed. The views from some of the windows were amazing. I was happy with the price I paid for the room and breakfast. I will definitely book to stay here again!

It was within a reasonable walking distance to The Patriot Rock Club in Crumlin (about 22 minutes). And I was able to hold the booking months before the music event. The price of the room was good.

I don't think it helps to write negative things, the cost of the room was quite low, so I was just expecting somewhere to sleep for a night out. The room was adequate, and fairly clean. The staff were lovely. Plenty of coffee for the morning! I didn't have breakfast so I can't comment. I will definitely come back.

Really great hotel if you are on a budget. I was very pleased with the size of my room and that they kindly allow dogs free of charge. Lady at the bar and breakfast area were welcoming and friendly.

Had to get up a lot of stairs to get to my room, sadly no lift, but was managable overall. Also, the telly was really small, but can't say I expected a super sized tv at £50/night. There was no leaflet and no wifi password.

Clean comfortable bed. Quiet, a great nights sleep. I had a early start, a decent breakfast to last me on my travels. Fantastic value! The cheapest anywhere on booking.com. I usually get a hostel, but there was no room left. So it was nice to have your own room with ensuite, and the cheapest anywhere, and best value for money. It's so expensive everywhere in the UK! It's not a five-star hotel ... it's a pub. A local, friendly pub with a down-to-earth atmosphere. Go with that in mind, and you won't be disappointed. Room was quiet (on the top floor) and spotlessly clean Bed was exceptionally comfortable Tea and coffee was appreciated The welcome could not have been more friendly and all the staff were really helpful Good seating in garden Value for money - for the price, very good

On the night I stayed there was no food being served - I went to the local chip shop (so not really a gripe) The full-on bar atmosphere, with giant TVs, may not be to everyone's liking - it's a real pub, that's for sure. (But there's a comfy lounge that was completely empty when I stayed). No parking at the pub itself, but a two-minute walk to a free car park

To faraway from anything to go places and the weather was terrible not there fault stayed in the bar at night but live band far too loud went into lounge where there was teenagers who were loud and smoking these artificial cigarettes so went to my room

Great location. Loved the room.

Not a massive concern, but we were not informed that there was going to be live music going on till late. However knowing it was a Saturday was not a major concern. Still loved the stay and would stay again.

Spacious and clean

Very noisy band playing unfortunately not too bad up in the attic but kids with us dangerous beams in the ceiling banged our heads.. and up 3flights no parking but left car outside side door was frightend that punters would walk into the car or worse. We were glad to see it the following morning.
