Beautiful property in a gorgeous location. The rooms are so lovely and clean and comfortable. Check in/check out super easy, great communication with the owners. Fantastic breakfast too! Overall a brilliant stay!

Noise travels! Of course a beautiful old property but the noise between rooms really travels so may not suit everyone. We thought we were being really quiet and respectful of other guests but unfortunately this wasn't the case, you can hear every movement. Not a lot the owners can do though so while I wanted to provide a fully honest review, I hope this doesn't put people off. It really is a great place to stay.

It's a lovely location by the side of the canal, surrounded by boats and fields, with terrific view of the Beacons. The room was very comfortable, with all the facilities we expected plus lots of information on walks and local attractions. There were tea-making facilities in the room and fresh milk downstairs if you wanted it. An excellent breakfast was provided. There is also a conservatory and patio for guests to use, which is a nice bonus. Car parking is provided for guests as well as a separate entrance to the rooms and guest spaces, so that you don't feel that you are intruding on the hosts privacy.

Minor points but think there could be better towels, perhaps a larger main bathroom towel and possibly a bath mat. Maybe more soundproofing at the door to prevent noise travelling, acknowledging it's understandable to hear floorboards creaking with movement in a period property and it's hard to fully prevent noises being heard.

The hosts were very welcoming and likeable. They were helpful with ideas for activities and made us feel at home. The breakfast was excellent and was served quickly. The location, aspect, and decor of the B&B were also better than expected. The space to dry our walking clothes and boots was also a fantastic touch. We will stay again for the great views of the Beacons, the tranquility, and the breakfast.

Only very minor criticism is that the lighting in the bedroom could do with another side lamp for added cosiness.

Very warm and friendly welcome. Room was very comfortable, clean, good facilities and spacious. Nice view of canal from window. Good selection for breakfast. You were not left feeling hungry. We came for a wedding so did not have a chance to fully explore the area but we were able to walk along the canal in the evening before wedding to a village for a meal in a lovely country pub. We would certainly book again and use cottage as a base to explore the area. It's literally a short drive from Brecon town itself. Excellent value for money

This place is a little gem. Very comfy and clean. Great location, right next to the canal with a lovely walking path to a lovely little pub 20 minutes walk away. The views across the valley are spectacular. Great breakfast every morning to set you up for a day of exploring this beautiful area. Having parking was great too. Sid was so very helpful with all sorts of maps available for walks in the area. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Gorgeous B&B, you can tell a lot of work has been put into it. Sid was very welcoming upon our arrival as he showed us around. We loved the view from the room, and the room itself was very clean and spacious with lots of character! In the morning we were seated in the conservatory for breakfast overlooking the canal and the mountains, it was really beautiful! The breakfast was very delicious, too. Probably one of the top B&B's we've stayed in, and will likely visit again!

My son and I recently enjoyed a two-night stay, and we were so pleased with Ty Newydd. The rooms were not only clean and cosy but also wonderfully warm, providing a comfortable environment during our visit. The bathrooms were also perfect. The highlight of our stay was the cooked breakfast, which was truly excellent and set a great tone for the day. Rachel and Sid, the hosts, were exceptional. They made us feel incredibly welcome and were a wealth of information about the local area. We greatly appreciated the abundance of maps and guidebooks available, which helped us make the most of our time in the area. Our stay was made all the more enjoyable thanks to Rachel and Sid's hospitality and local knowledge. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

The views from our bedroom were exceptional. The central heating only came on once during our 3 day stay. As the weather became a little chilly towards the end of our stay it would have been nice to have some heat in our bedroom in the evening. When the heating is off the heated towel rail in the bathroom remains off.

The cooked breakfast was excellent. Plenty of variety and served in a courteous and timely manner. Good coffee too! Really nice room with comfortable bed and excellent en-suite bathroom. Tea/coffee making facilities were appreciated.

One day I was due to be out and about long before breakfast, so I asked for the "packed breakfast" for that day. OK, it was prepared and ready, but absolutely, totally inadequate: two small pain au chocolat in a paper bag. A perfect combination of inadequate AND unhealthy.
