It's a beautiful setting. The pool area was clean and tody. The sauna and steam room were perfect. We had an evening meal booked at 7.30 so we didn't want a big meal in the day so they had a cream tea/coffee as the restaurant shut at 3pm. The food was beautiful and the service was amazing. All of the staff were extremely helpful.
After food you could go and sit in the top bar area and people are having food in there aswell as the restaurant. There's not alot to do in the evenings, we asked if we could put the TV on for some music which the staff was happy to do so for us. Last orders were around 10.30. It would be nice if they had the top area for some quiet music or entertainment for guests who's staying at the hotel.

The grounds at hotel is a delight for those who appreciate a variety of plants/trees and unique creative features, water bowls surrounded by plants to encourage wildlife, as well as lovely views of the Brecon Beacons. The staff are extremely friendly and the meals available are freshly cooked and are a delight to eat. A wide variety of meal options to suit all, using locally produced food wherever possible.
This is a three star hotel with spa facilities and accommodation that is due for an update, hence the three star rating. I enjoyed my time there and excellent value for this type of hotel.

Rooms were spotless, breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice. Pool and sauna facilities were decent as well. Staff were really friendly, couldn't fault tem. The grounds were really nice and dtheybdid a nice pint of worthy.
Plug socket in the room was bizarrely placed, behind the middle of the headboard, so ended up forgetting my charger. The pool cleanliness was questionable, the tiles above the pool were dirty and grubby and the interior looked shabby which was disappointing. In its pomp it was probably very nice, just looked like it needed a good scrub. There was a nail protruding on the sauna bench but assume it was sorted out after reporting it. The bar areas looked dated and could do with modernising. I don't want to sound a misery guts but this is constructive criticism.

The location was secluded and peaceful and our room was adjacent to the river which runs to the rear of the Lodge. We ordered food in the bar area which was cooked and presented meticulously. Both my sons commented on how delicious it was. I'd booked a room with one large bed, as it was the only one available at the time. The hotel changed us to a family room with two separate bedrooms. The second night a booked another room for my older son, who had booked to be in Merthyr. He had seen our booking and wanted to stay. The staff were very approachable and friendly and took the time to chat when the chance arose. My youngest son said the shower was really good 😂. I couldn't get in most of the time.

Great meals
Rust in the toilet in the men's changing room toilet, easy to fix with new bits back on the door. Showers in the men's changing room need to be updated, some rust. Some damage in the bathroom room, tiles damaged, easy to fix. Wall above the bed, plugs need to be taken out and filled in and painted. Red plug above the picture need to be sorted out. In the sauna, good idea to have a timing device, turn round after sand upto say 30 mins. Also best sauna's have hot rocks and a bucket of cold water to pour on to increase temperature heat quickly. Jacussi could be warmer.

The location was exactly what we wanted, plenty to do, walking, beautiful scenery etc. The breakfast was very good, there was a great selection even on the cooked breakfast, vegetarian option and for my partner his favourite kippers. We even extended our stay by 2 days. The staff were incredible helpful and when we wanted to extend our stay unfortunately we needed to be moved to another room as they were pretty booked up they even showed us the room we would need to move to before we booked it. Used the gym, pool, spa everyday.
The only thing was we had an executive suite but when we wanted to extend our stay unfortunately all of the executive suites were booked so they only had a superior room left which we took this was not their fault just one of those things.

Well located for what I wanted - short drive to footpath to Corn Du and the horseshoe. Close to Brecon. Gym was great, it was surprisingly well equipped for a hotel, pool is nice, breakfast was good and so was my evening meal. My room (#11) was very spacious for a twin. Staff were lovely and overall value for money was very good.
Small point, but makes a difference to the quality of sleep, the pillows were very cheap in my room (#11) and it being at the top of the stairs means you get a lot of noise from passing guests in the morning and at night. If you’re being picky, when the weather is too cold/wet to sit outside (which is a lovely space), the bar area doesn’t have much character

Food: Superb breakfast! lovely choices from Continental to Full Welsh Brekky. Spacious suite room, enough to accommodate our family of 4. Daily room cleaning, refilling of stocks and fresh towels were provided without us having to request them. Swim time for kids limited to 2 hrs in the morning and 2hrs in the aftie - which was just fine.
There's not much i do not like. The jacuzzi was relaxing, but it can be given a little bit more love. In room TV - only one channel has good signal. otherwise, all is well.

The Nant Ddu Lodge is fantastically situated for those wishing to walk on the Black Mountains and surrounding areas (most notably, Pen Y Fan). The leisure facilities are modern and for a small gym, the range of equipment was one of the best I’ve come across. The dinner service was swift and the food was of a high standard. Very accommodating of our new born baby in the dining areas and room. We’ll definitely be returning!
Our only pick up point would be that the continental breakfast offering was demonised pretty quickly in the morning, but this is to be expected with guests heading out early.
