Lovely apartment cosy yet spacious with lots of character. Very well equipped kitchen and spotlessly clean. Friendly and helpful hosts provided lots of info on the area and things to do in advance and fresh milk and delicious Welsh cakes on our arrival. The apartment is in a quiet residential area next to the park, there’s a corner shop a few minutes walk away and a cafe at the entrance to the park. A 5 - 10 minute walk into town. 10 - 15 minutes drive to beautiful countryside and the Brecon Beacons national park. Parking in the drive and plenty if street parking. We will definitely stay here again.
We loved the Rafters it’s a beautiful apartment but it is on the second floor and the stairs up to the second floor are steep this wasn’t an issue for us but something to be aware of if you are not good with stairs.

Clean, excellent location, loved the quirky room in The Rafters. Clear instructions emailed in advance of how to access the property along with lots of recommendations on things to do and places to eat. We came to the area for a specific reason and were able to come and go from the property as we pleased. It was perfect. Definitely recommend this self catering accommodation.
Nothing, we are very active and so walked down the hill each night into the town rather than using our car or taxi.

This property is extremely beautiful. It’s just off the road on a corner with plenty of spaces to park even if you can’t get on the drive. It’s in a very convenient location to get to the beacons too. The blue room we stayed in was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. James and Angela we cannot thank enough for all their help- from sending us a fantastic driving route to letting us know the best places of seeing the northern lights!
As we were hiking, we wanted to take pack up which we bought the day before our big hike. However when we got back we realised there was no big fridge to put it in. However James and Angela very kindly allowed us to put it in their fridge!! However, we didn’t like putting this on them so if/when we visit again we will be buying our pack up the morning of 😊

The stylish design, the good facilities, the proximity to the park, the constructive communication with the landlords. Very good care products.
The weak water jet in the shower, the lack of a wardrobe, the limited storage space for two large suitcases (we put them on the floor next to the bed), the 140 cm narrow bed with a soft, sagging mattress.

I am so so happy with everything about my stay it was amazing. The room and facilities were incredible and I had everything I needed for a wonderful stay. Everything was clean and tidy and it’s in an excellent location. The communication from Angela and Lee is the best I have ever experienced from hosts and they are so helpful. Everyone should read their suggested things to do as it’s amazing and it’s so clear that they go above and beyond for all of their guests.

Owner was friendly and very helpful. I fractured my leg whilst staying in Merthyr and James was fantastic allowing us to move from the attic room which we had booked and was amazing, to a lower floor so I did not have the stairs to contend with very helpful indeed. This was our second visit and once again could not ask for better. Thanks

Lovely room at the top of the house. Everything was as described so we knew we had everything we needed. We had the room with the kitchen and bathroom across the corridor and it was absolutely fine. We went back and forth in our pyjamas and didn‘t ever see the people in the other room.
All good.

The studio we stayed in was beautiful! We really didn't expect it and as it was a birthday trip for my partner, I was very glad to walk into such a beautiful space. The photos really don't do it justice. The bed was comfy and the kitchen was well equipped. The views from our room were lovely and everything was tastefully decorated. We bumped into James on our way in and out. He was very kind and helpful, even giving us some extra welsh cakes and some of his own honey as we left. The location is fabulous! We went for a hike on the Friday up to the Canadian bomber crash site, gorge walking / canyoning on Saturday which was 30 minutes down the A road and then Bike Park Wales on Sunday (yes we were exhausted after all of this) which was 7 minutes by car. I couldn't recommend staying here more.
After all of the hard work and fun activities we pushed ourselves to do, it would have been great to have a bath to come back to but we made do with a nice long, warm shower to warm our bones back up and the shampoo and body wash provided made that better.
