Friendly helpful staff , clean room, good location with petrol station , KFC, Mc Donalds, Harvester walking distance from the property and the local village of Pontypool just an easy 5-10 mins drive. Stayed in property to watch the EPCR and Heineken rugby cup finals at Cardiff principality stadium and wanted to stay a bit away in a quiet hotel yet at the same time in driving distance. Pontypool has lovely eating places including Horse & Jockey , Aahar (Indian) as well as good number of churches, the hotel has good safe parking facility
everything was very good

We always choose a room facing the car park as its so quiet, and with the benefit of black out curtains, we do get a good nights sleep. The beds are always very comfortable too.
Only little things, such as a chair in the room would be good so your not just laying on the bed drinking, reading or watching TV. The kettle has to be switched on at a different place to where the tray is, as no plug socket. My husband did mention that he couldn't get close to the bathroom mirror to shave because of the placing of the sink and toilet . These are small things, And really cannot take away the comfort of the hotel. We have stayed at least half a dozen times.

I like that hotel was laid out well and all the info was provided to us when we checked in i.e the code for the barrier , how to set up the sofa bed and where the pillows and duvet was. the staff were helpful and friendly . as we're the other guests. the room was ample for what we needed as a base whilst we were exploring the area . the TV was a smart TV which wasn't what we expected and we took advantage of this , the wifi was free and very quick . The parking was also free.
it wasn't so much an issue but the staff member coming into the room whilst we were sleeping at 2.30am this morning was a bit of a shock but the staff member apologised and when we said about in the morning they were extremely apologetic. Also the food options for vegans surrounding the hotel is a bit lacking however there are plenty in Cwmbran that is a short drive away. so there is nothing major about the hotel I dislike and I look forward to staying at this hotel again on a another trip here in December

The room was clean, a very good size with a comfortable bed. extra towels and pillows were provided. Sound proofing was good as we didn't we hear the traffic at all. Unfortunately it made the room very airless and in the heat I would imagine very stifling, a fan is provided. So if you want the window open I would suggest ear plugs. Had to ask for extra milk and teabags a few times, as only provided with one tea bag and milk each. During our stay, we noticed a bulb gone, and the extractor fan was not working properly in the bathroom, We reported it and the faults were acted on. This time we didn't pay the extra £11 for breakfast, as not big eaters ,although previously we have eaten breakfast there and had no complaints. A choice of full English or continental , its a buffet service. On leaving the hotel site, there are car park barriers for patrons of the hotel and the road takes you on to a roundabout which is usually very busy. There is a KFC, and an Asda Express Garage, for snacks and papers, plus a Cash machine, on the same site as the hotel.
More tea bags and milk please, just seemed we were going to reception to replenish our tea/coffee a few too many times.

Comfortable room. Good breakfast with service starting conveniently early at 06.30am. Harvester pub located very near so it was possible to buy a good meal rather than just fast food without needing to go very far away.
I was walking the Cambrian Way. it took me a long time beforehand to work out a safe way to walk from the Pontypool Park gates area to the hotel (google maps suggested walking down the dual carriageway). I realise relatively few people walk there but it would have been helpful if the hotel provided some advice beforehand about using the path by the canal to walk from the central town area.

All the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful, even though you could see they were extremely busy. Great communication before our stay. Much better service than the Premiere Inn. It was a short taxi journey from the train station, Pontypool centre and eateries. Good security. It wasn’t huge and rambling, they reserved a ground floor room for access needs without needing to remind, and they served great coffee with oat milk, also providing some for the room by request. The room as a good size with a desk, plenty of plugs for phones, hairdryer and kettle. The shower was excellent and the bed was very comfortable. They even looked after our case as we needed to work the next day. We will definitely come again.
We needed an early night as we had an early start, but the security door kept slamming into the early hours. It could do with a soft close hinge. Although there’s a notice to be quiet, people chattered in the doorway.

Good cheap hotel clean and very pleasant easy access to the places we wanted to see and visit with plenty of good options for food and drinks nearby.
Very disappointed to woken up at around 2am with someone knocking on the room door which was on the second floor, trying to sell cocaine!! So they must have either been staying there or had been let in by the hotel reception staff. After opening the room as this could have been someone needing help. I called the hotel reception who was so flippant about it as this happened on regular occasions. This was very disappointing as we have stayed there on many occasions and had never been offered any kind of drugs!

Our 4th stay here in a year. We like the location, the rooms facing the car park are extremely quiet. The beds are very comfortable. We like the black out curtains, So much so we slept in the first morning ! not realising it was late morning. It is a buffet breakfast, most of the time there is a good choice, If you get to the buffet early. But the staff very quickly fill up where there are shortages if asked. The location is central for Cwmbran and Newport. There is a choice of Subway, Greggs and Asda express on site too.
The roundabout is extremely busy to get in and out of the site. People still like to let their doors slam which can be a small nuisance late in the evening. Also ask for a second card, so if one of you goes out the other is not left without power.

Bed was amazing big and comfortable, don't normally don't sleep well so was surprised for the money we paid.room is small but perfectly functioning for a short stay. Room was really clean and TV works well unlike premier inn we stayed at last week
Breakfast was average and bland, milk is the same watery rubbish served at most now. Toast was ok though. Shower was strong but very close to wall and low so larger people would struggle a bit

Great room for the price. Lovely and clean. Nice mattress. Hot shower. Staff were efficient and friendly. We would definitely stay again.
These comments are not really negatives but just things anyone staying should know: Noisy traffic, but we knew it was by the road, so were expecting that. The room we had was on the top floor and on the road side. Something else to be aware of it that there is no lift, so if you have mobility issues you need to ask for the ground floor.
