I liked the welcome and the help afforeded me in taking my case and luggage up two flight of steep stairs. Also the thought fulness in supplying a nigthcap after the bar had closed early. Easy parking in parking bays on the street outside overnight, apparently until 0900 hrs. The room itself was amazingly quiet and very comfortable

Milk cartons are not supplied in the bedroom so I could only have black tea in my bedroom. I think many guest would like a breakfast menu, to include toast, croissants, fruit juice etc, rather than what seemed to be a brunch menu, though that looked interesting, but not appropriate for me and expensive.

It’s an old hotel that’s been tastefully redecorated and had a bit of love put into it recently, it has a lot of character but some things like the bathroom etc could still be improved. The staff were very helpful and friendly and helped with everything we needed. I called ahead to ask about motorcycle parking and they let us park our 2 motorcycles in the locked garage in locked courtyard…. Do not leave a motorcycle on the street….it likely wouldn’t be there in the morning. Good breakfast (not included), good coffee.

The hotel is located on main street, but very quiet. Hotel has very lovely design, room was very comfortable, with everything you need. Great and helpful staff, tried their Welsh breakfast. Amazing end to our great Wales adventure.

Hotel don't offer any dinners, and in such quiet town as Merthyr Tydfil, especially on the weekend, was a bit of a problem to find somewhere to dine later in the evening.

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean and very well furnished and decorated throughout. Delicious breakfast with plenty on the menu to choose from.

Room 5 dormer window blind was completely ineffective, letting in buckets of sunlight from first light. It's the one time we need it to be dark. :(

I checked in and went to my room which had no iron for my clothes has I was going to a wedding the day after I went down stairs and asked if I could have one and the next time I left my room there was an iron outside my room that’s what I call great sevice.

The staff was great even the night porter give me a smile at one a clock in the morning

Stairs quite deep and very difficult with bag carry up two sets of stairs. No hairdryer in room, no milk but was give me little jug of milk after I asked for one. No shampoo or conditioner and no body wash in shower room.

The ambience and warm hospitality was excellent! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed! Thanks so much to Sarah & all the staff for an amazing experience - we will be back!!!

If I really had to pick something, it’s the stairs but hey, that’s what you get in a glorious heritage building!

The staf were not only very friendly, they were also extremely helpfull in assisting. The location is around other pubs and restaurants, but I liked the close vicinity of the MTB trails the most in a beautifull landscape

The doorlock of the rooms somertimes refused

Very friendly welcoming staff. One of the three rooms we booked was a little tired with a smell of drains but the other two were fine.

One room needs to have the door and drains fixed. Having a bunk bed does not really qualify it as a twin for any guests with other than good mobility.

We liked the character of the building interior, the staff were very friendly and the room was cosy with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was delicious.

We stayed on a Saturday and as our room was at the front of the building we could hear a lot of night life noise such as raised voices and cars racing up the street while revving their engines.
