Great location for what we needed, we had an appointment in Oakdale so this was more than convenient. Friendly staff. Rooms were comfortable. The double that myself and my wife were in had been beautifully renovated.

We came as a family group with our teenage sons having a twin room which although was quite comfortable sleep wise, they both said that the shower could do with being replaced, even though it’s an electric shower it couldn’t regulate the temperature. It is clear that the hotel is undergoing renovations so hopefully the shower is on the ‘to-do list’.

We spent a night at Brewer's Lodge while visiting family in Caerphilly. The pub itself had very friendly staff and customers with plenty of space inside and out. We didn't eat there but the food was recommended by others. Our rooms were a great size, clean and comfortable, with a good supply of toiletries and tea/coffee. It's right next to a walking trail - we didn't have time to explore it but noticed plenty of other walkers coming in and out. Brewers Lodge was great value for money and we'd definitely return whenever we need accommodation in the area.

Travelled for the Oasis gig in Cardiff, where accommodation was astronomical prices. The Brewers Lodge is around 45 minutes drive from Cardiff, so we used a local taxi firm to get into and back from Cardiff. The price was £70 each way, but the £45 rooms here made it much cheaper than a hotel in Cardiff. The hotel is a large pub with some rooms, which are clean and modern and have plenty of selection of tea and coffee in the rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Would have loved breakfast at the hotel

The room was clean, compact but had everything we needed, there were miniature soaps and shampoo which were replenished, also biscuits to go with the tea and coffee which was a nice touch. The bed was comfortable so we had a good night's sleep. We enjoyed a couple of drinks in the bar whilst watching the darts on sky TV.. Plenty of parking available in the carpark.

The bathroom needs a little TLC mainly the ceiling with just a lick of paint. Would have had a higher rating if breakfast was provided, we went to Weather spoons and had a cheap and cheerful breakfast.

The bed was very comfortable, the bed sheets were clean and crispy(well ironed and starched) I forgot my charger on checking out and they kept for me. I rang up and it was available when I came back to collect it the following day

The chair was too hard, hence very uncomfortable for long sitting, the desk was too high while the chair was too low. The chair and desk set up is not ideal if you need to sit and do some work. The rooms are good for sleeping in and not for relaxing in.

The staff here were excellent, always on hand, really down to earth and friendly. The food was incredible value for money and even the drinks were a great price! Great atmosphere and we really enjoyed our 11th wedding anniversary, would definitely recommend.

On arrival the noise from the bar was deafening even in our room. There was a wedding going on and lots of people drinking at the bar. However when we asked to move rooms, the staff were so accompanying and understanding and we were moved straight away to the back, which was much quieter. The following Sunday was much more quieter and relaxed, with a great atmosphere all day. One downside is that there is no breakfast served which was disappointing.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. It was pleasing to have free safe parking on site The food in the bar was good and great value for money. The room was really clean, and I got a great nights sleep!

It's really difficult to find anything I didn't like, the only improvement I think that would add value is a breakfast service - being a stranger to the area I really didn't know where to go to find something.

The location was good and the bar its self was very busy on the evening ! The food for the evening meal was very good and reasonably priced !!

No breakfast provided which is a shame as we had to find some where else to eat and the food on the evening was very good ! The bathroom for our room which was a twin room needs updating it was very tired but function-able.

Very clean and modern room, the place looked well maintained an exceeded our expectations! It's also very accessible being close to town, but at the end of a dead end street so fairly quiet for the location.

The bar was very loud at night, the room being right above the bar meant there was no chance to sleep until everyone was gone. That's to be expected in a place like this though so I can't hold it against them, and they did start to shut things down after 11 for the purpose of the hotel.

It wasn’t far from the town and was very easy to get a taxi. The room was absolutely amazing and clean. Could not fault it !

There is nothing I didn’t like about the property. However for others staying for whatever purpose, having the pub downstairs may be a problem as you could hear everything. Such as people talking and laughing to the music playing. So if you want an early night on a weekend then chances are you won’t get it 🤣 however for us we didn’t care and loved the fact we was in our room and could hear the music so we didn’t have to go downstairs !
