Liked the centrality of it. Loved the dining room and the Banksy theme artwork. Loved breakfast. Loved the Bed.
The water didn’t get warm the first night I had a shower. I let staff know and I made sure I had a shower in the morning the next day in case it was a heating up thing. Also stains on the carpet along the hallway hit my eyes even though I really wasn’t trying to notice them. Staff were very attentive in recording the concern about the water! Also most expensive hotel I’ve stayed at across England, Scotland and Wales. Not sure if that’s a normal relative charge or if it was due to rugby.

Rating: 8.5/10 I recently stayed at Novotel Cardiff and overall had a great experience. The hotel has good amenities especially the gym and pool, which I really enjoyed using. The food was a pleasant surprise. I ordered their Welsh beef burger and honestly, it’s one of the best I’ve had so far, really flavorful and well-prepared. Breakfast was what you’d expect from an English hotel, no complaints there, but what stood out was the service. The restaurant staff were commendable-friendly, efficient, and made the dining experience enjoyable. One issue during my stay was with the air conditioning in my room, which wasn’t cooling properly and made the room uncomfortably warm. Receptionist W. was very helpful-he provided a fan on the first night, and when that didn’t help, he offered to move me to another room. Unfortunately, the new room had the same temperature issue and was a downgrade from my original booking. However, W. made an effort to make it right by arranging a partial refund and offering a complimentary breakfast the next day. Receptionist M. was also very attentive and assured me they’d provide a more tailored experience on my next visit, which was appreciated. Despite the aircon issue, the overall service, food, and facilities were excellent. I’ll definitely consider booking again to give them another chance.

The staff were very friendly and helpful especially Anthony as he moved us to a different floor and room due to the room next door making a lot of noise. Anthony was very understanding very good at his job. Everyone at the hotel experienced in what they did the room were lovely and clean and tidy swimming pool was lovely as well. Also the hotel smell beautiful when entering which made it very inviting also the food was excellent and breakfast was really nice well done to all.
The only thing I didn’t like was the noise from The room next to us when we arrived as the children were screaming, shouting banging doors and knocking on Late at night and early in the morning, which I did complain, but it was sorted out straight away.

I loved the restaurant downstairs, breakfast was great, the rooms clean, the staff very helpful, and water warm also. There is a parking outside, so big advantage. There are toilets downstairs, well maintained . I would recommend staying and we were very happy with our choice, apart from the swimming pool:-( but the sauna cheered me up:-)
Unfortunately the water in the pool was horrible:-( I haven’t seen such a dirty water in any pool and you could tell by even looking at it. I was struggling to find a water toy in the bottom - visibility really limited!!swimming was actually unpleasant!! In addition to it ,people using the pool were not wearing swimming hats at all…:-( please sort it out because the hotel was really nice overall! It was a pity there was no fridge in the room.

The pool was a hit with our kids, we went every day. The pancake and Nutella machines at breakfast were also popular. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Good location about 15 minutes walk from Cardiff Central and Cardiff Queen Street stations. We walked into the city centre most days, enjoying trips to the Cardiff Museum and Bute Park.
In some areas cleanliness could have been better e.g. under the grip mat in the changing room and around the door of the sauna and steam room. Both gym rooms need the sanitiser spray refilling. Some vegan sausages at breakfast would also have been an improvement.

Kids had hours of fun in the swimming pool and the changing rooms were very clean, very quiet in the pool so we chose our times wisely! The restaurant was trendy and the food was great, staff were lovely and the reception area has a lush smell!! Close to all the places we wanted to go to.
Sauna was out of order which was disappointing and for a family of four the room was very small, the sofa bed was not enough for two teen boys and they had one pillow between them, no phone to call reception so had to go down and ask for one, to be told there were no pillows left in the hotel! No plugs near the bed so phones needed to be charged the other side of the room and only two cups on arrival for four people. not accommodating for children in the room, teens like tea too!

The location and staff were exceptional - each member was super helpful, very sweet and kind. The location was great - quite close to all the transport links as well as the city center.
The hotel felt a bit dated, especially in the toilets / plumbing. We booked 3 rooms for a family weekend and two rooms saw a bit of water collected from the flush and near the sink. There was a persistent leaky tap in the sink too. It just needed a bit of TLC. The helpful and friendly staff did make up for it. It's just not what you expect at a Novotel (the poor plumbing)

Swimming pool was great, staff were lovely especially David who was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and beds comfortable. My son loved the pancake maker at breakfast.
The hotel was a bit too far out of town on this occasion as we travelled on the train but if we drove it wouldn’t have been a problem. The bathroom was clean but smelled a bit damp in the morning and the shower kept turning from hot to cold 🥶. The English breakfast wasn’t that good, my husband couldn’t eat it. The bacon was really hard but the rest of the selection of breakfasts were nice.

Really liked the location as close to city centre. It was great to use the pool with our daughter and husband used the gym in the mornings too. The restaurant was good, food was good and price for breakfast was reasonable £18 per person and kids eats free. Obviously worth it if you have kids!
The car park was £12 per 24 hours when I booked the hotel but on the day we have been told the price changed to £24 per 24 hours!! That’s very expensive and we had no prior warning that the cost will double. However, I have paid the old price so have to give it to the staff as they have honoured it. Also the lifts were little bit unpredictable, had mind of their own it seems!

I was emailled a day or two before to 'check in'. That email told me it would provide significant benefits on arrival. So I provided all the information (again? Didn't I do this when I booked?) On arrival I still had the usual wait and provided info. The early check in did not seem to make any difference. This feels like something the hotel do for their sake - it only was an inconvenience to me. The only reason I'll check in like this another time is if the hotel involved offer door keys downloadable to my phone. Now that would make the process worthwhile. Can I add, there was a very slight smell of sewage around the bar which made me want to eat out rather than eat at the hotel. Nothing offensive, just not appealing.
