Pretty boutique hotel The cottages were best option Loved our stay

Over an 1 hour 30 to be served our evening meal at restaurant. Servers should have checked in with us to explain wait or even offer comp glass of wine for exceedingly long wait

Great building with bags of character. My room was cosy with good facilities. Unfortunately the drains in my bathroom were smelling so I informed reception who came straight up with the maintenance man. They were very apologetic and upgraded me immediately to an even better room! Fantastic service and response, why can't all hotels treat their guests like this. Absolutely brilliant. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. 5 stars!

Nothing. It was a lovely hotel managed and staffed by people who care for their guests.

The room was lovely and the whole building. The breakfast was great. It was very central.

We should have been told on checking in that we needed to register our car, as we will now be receiving a £100 parking fine which we will have to contest, as we didn't see the notice in the car park. A large notice at reception would be useful.

Lovely hotel with beautiful grounds in an excellent location close to M4 and Prince of Wales bridge. All staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful and professional. The food at dinner was excellent and reflected their Spanish and Mediterranean ethos. Service was a little slow but, well worth the wait. Meals were cooked to order and they were busy! Breakfast was freshly cooked with a good selection of dishes on offer. The room was large, spotlessly clean and had a large comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making facilities were available in the room. A complimentary EV charger was a bonus.

Nothing to dislike..

We liked the location and the style of the rooms. The staff were friendly and polite throughout our stay although more attention to detail could have been applied by the kitchen staff

the carpet in the corridors and on the stairs urgently needed replacing. It was worn and had lots of stains Service at breakfast and the breakfast itself was not up to our expectations. We were told we would be bought coffee but when we weren’t and queried this we were told it was self service. The choice of fruit, yoghurts, cold meats etc that you would expect was non existent. Our toast did not appear until we had almost finished eating and consisted of 1 small slice between the 2 of us and the requested brown sauce never appeared.

We know the property. My husband grew up In the town. Lots of history. Beautiful setting. Established. Well kept. Has a good reputation.

Traveling internationally we had luggage (too much!). No elevator, understandably, in such an old building - so getting up to our room needed strength & agility. Would book garden room next time or bring less stuff. Beautiful room with a large bathroom which was basic with no storage. Requested a table to put wash bags/personal items on. Staff were very obliging & helpful, got one after requesting it - second day. Quiet season so breakfast time had limited / new/ staff in training. Fine by us, we were in no rush.

Excellent location with the Roman museum, barracks, amphitheatre and baths within easy walking distance. Plenty of parking onsite, with the 'cottages' having their own parking immediately outside the rooms (though the parking is a little cramped). Helpful staff (Louis) and the location of the cottages means that it is fairly quiet. Generous sized Victorian themed bathroom with a good sized room having plenty of space for a bed and sitting area. Having a small private garden was a bonus.

It would have been helpful to know in advance that £150 would be taken from my account as a deposit (to be returned on departure).

If you want out of the ordinary...quirky...unique...beautiful setting...great food...pleasant room in lovely village then the Priory is for you. This is matched with unique staff who seem genuinely interested in ensuring your stay is exceeding your expectations. Louis was a true gentleman his care was evident. The restaurant managers were on the ball and very friendly...the catering staff were skilled, watching them fillet a full fish from a salt cooking was fantastic.

Service as in all hotels these days was a little spotty...it feels everywhere I stay theses days the staff are thin on the ground so you can actually see their frustration....but in all honesty there was always curtosey and some very genuine smiles.

The hotel completely exceeded our expectations. Given the price I paid, I was only expecting a clean room, but I was blown away by much more. Having stayed in disappointing accommodations in the past, I didn't expect to be wowed—but this hotel was stunning. The restaurant and bar created a perfect atmosphere, and the cocktails were fantastic. When I entered our room, I was absolutely amazed. The furnishings were elegant, and the decor was tasteful and stylish. To top it off, there was a gorgeous bath positioned at the end of the bed. The view from our room was also breathtaking. I can't recommend this hotel enough, and I've already shared the details with everyone I know. I'll definitely be returning for another stay!

WOAW!!!! What an exceptional place to stay for one night!!! Everything top notch and exactly as described. Staff went above and beyond to make a guest feel welcomed from check-in until check-out. Continental Breakfast was available as well as a variety of „À la carte“ full cooked breakfasts as well. Being mobility impaired, I highly appreciated the support of the staff helping me with my luggage upon arrival and departure. The room was very spacious, clean, with lots of nice amenities and touches. Loved staying here and if I ever come back near Cardiff, I will definitely stay at „The Priory“ again!!! Highly recommended!!!
