We were visiting from the states to attend a graduation at Cardiff University and the staff was absolutely lovely! The location of the hotel is spectacular right in the middle of the everything and accessible to the train station and bus station. The hotel rooms were perfect, the staff in the restaurant were so lovely and accommodating, and I will be returning once again.

The only thing that I disliked was the issue we had with the television in our bedroom. Apparently there was an issue with the streaming service so we were subjected to only local television news and some sports so we were not able to look at any streaming services on the television.

The hotel was in an excellent location directly on the main shopping street. It was close to everything we needed, for example, the museums and the castle and only a short walk down of about 35 minutes to Cardiff Bay. The breakfast was exceptional with plenty of options and a nice calm vibe in the restaurant room. The staff were so helpful and very friendly and worked hard to accommodate our small change for the breakfast time once we realised we wouldn't be able to get up so soon! We asked for a quiet room and they were able to accommodate this easily with a room on the second floor. All in all, an exceptionally good value hotel with a high end experience.

Just got back from a stay at the Hotel Indigo in Cardiff and all we can say to describe it was perfect, from the location, which is as central as you can get, but tucked away so quiet, the hotel itself, which is just beautiful, with a slightly quirky edge, the rooms which are fantastic, spacious, beautiful designed and spotless to the staff who just could not have been nicer, friendly of helpful. We were staying in Cardiff to see Will Smith and to say we were excited was an understatement, the poor staff listened to us witter on about said excitement offering tips about the concerts held at the castle. The staff happily stored our bags and off we went, we checked back in later and once in our beautiful room noticed a note on the mirror wishing us a happy stay and hoped we enjoyed the concert, what a lovely personal touch we thought but it didn't stop there, we had been chosen as 'star guests' our room was upgraded, a free drink in the bar, drinks and nibbles in the minibar and late check out! What a fabulous thing to do for us, making us feel like the celebrity. We ventured to the bar for our drinks, the staff again just lovely, and sat outside on the balcony, another great surprise. Breakfast the next day was the best we have ever had, vegetarian sausages on offer, normally we have to ask and always feel like we are being a nuisance so another nice touch, we literally tried everything on the breakfast menu and you could not fault it, again the staff so fab! Upon checking out the staff on reception asked us about the concert, and again we wittered on but they happily listened, as our train wasn't until the afternoon we asked if our bags could be stored, and of course they happily accommodated! All we can say is we cannot wait to come back, I don't think we can express how the extra touches made our stay a such a very memorable one, thank you Hotel Indigo!

Nothing not to like!

Excellent location, quirky decor with nice attention to detail in theming. Rooms were lovely with good facilities, and nice bathrobes which was a great touch. Breakfast was good, lovely location on the sixth floor. Good coffee.

Rooms were tired in places - the dial (not sure what for) in the bathroom was broken, there was a stain on the headboard and furniture was worn in high usage areas. Cleanliness was the big letdown, as the entrance doors and handplates were covered in smudges, as were the light switches and handles in our room (I bought wipes and cleaned them myself). Bulbs on low lights needed dusting. Shame that we had just one packet of biscuits between two of us, and just 4 small milk packets. Cleaner unlocked our door just ten minutes after we’d checked in, then shut the door quickly and left with no apology.

Friendly, helpful staff. We stayed for our anniversary and I made the hotel aware this was the reason for our stay when I made the booking and when we got there they had put petals on the floor and bed and written a lovely message on the mirror for us. Such a lovely touch. We also arrived earlier than check-in and our room was ready so we were lucky enough to check-in 2 hours ahead of time. They offer luggage hold as well so if you arrive and your room isn't ready at least you can leave your luggage. The location is very central but there wasnt any noise pollution for us, we were on level 5. The room has air-conditioning which was easy to use. One thing it took me a while to figure out was turning the lights on, next to the door there was a black thing that you have to put your key card into and this allows the lights to come on. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of choice. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything was perfect.

First impressions were great. The reception area is lovely, and all communal areas have a wonderful scent being pumped through. We were welcomed by Callum when checking in. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The room itself was clean and had lovely touches. We were initially worried by how cheap and bouncy the beds felt, but they were actually incredibly comfortable. The location was brilliant for Cardiff Central, the Castle and all shopping in the local area. Everything is right on the doorstep.

The only downside was there was no hairdryer in the room despite it being listed and only one towelling gown for two guests, but these were minor issues.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I messaged in advance to ask if they could put a birthday banner up in the room for my friends birthday and they accommodated as well as doing balloons and writing a nice birthday message on the mirror

This isn't any fault of the hotel - there is no parking on site and they suggest the local NCP car park and provide a discount code for it which you use at check out of the car park. This has to be used via the machines on site not online, unfortunately the machine was out of service when we left, so had not choice but to pay online which didn't allow for the discount

Hotel Indigo Cardiff exceeded my expectations from start to finish. The location is perfect – right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore everything Cardiff has to offer. The hotel itself is stylish and full of character, with a boutique feel that makes it stand out. My room was beautifully designed, comfortable, and had all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. The staff were professional, friendly, and always ready to help with anything I needed. They really added a personal touch that made my visit feel special. Breakfast was delicious, with a great range of options and fresh, quality ingredients. I also really appreciated the rooftop bar and restaurant – a lovely spot to unwind in the evening. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended for anyone staying in Cardiff.

We liked the decor and attention to detail, the location and the staff who were all friendly. The bed was comfy and the Welsh made bathroom products (Myddfai) are great. Lovely breakfast too - situated top floor. Also enjoyed a cocktail up there on arrival, on the small but sunny outside area! I particularly appreciated the help of Cara on reception who moved us to a slightly quieter room (the first was quiet but near an access door) which really helped a light sleeper like me! She took the time to look for and then walk me to the alternative and make sure I was happy. Thankyou Cara!

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, beautifully set out, lots of options for vegetarians.

Just a note - if you park at greyfriars the lifts are broken so if you have lots of heavy suitcases you might struggle! Also didn't let me pay at the paystation. You have to pay at the pay station to use the hotel discount. I had to ring the NCP customer support number and they adjusted the amount online and I could pay via their website (not the app though).
