Nice quiet location, away from the road and other properties. Big comfortable room. Shower had plenty of constant hot water. Staff very courteous and when the fire alarm went off at 10pm (because someone had tried having a sneaky cigarette) it was dealt with comfortably by the staff. Would certainly stay there again.

Cannot comment on the food at this hotel as we did not opt for the breakfast and we had an evening meal booked elsewhere by others. Only minor issue if being picky was that when it was quiet there was no one attending to the bar and would have to wait a while to get served or as I did went to the nearby reception.

Our fourth stay, absolutely love it here, tranquility and food is always good. Want to say Karen the receptionist was so attentive, professional helpful and funny, a breath of fresh air she really looked after us and went the extra mile, thank you so much. Beautiful evening meal with two lovely young waitresses and great barman in the afternoon who we have seen on other visits with great customer service skills. Looks like there's some improvements happening, new windows and painting, it does need a lot of modernization but working with what they have is comfortable and clean and a fantastic setting, look forward to the next visit 😊😊 x

Blooming bin men just after 7 and no air conditioning, it was a sweltering night and grateful for the one fan. No toiletries just one squirt bottle on the bath, didn't know if it was soap, shampoo, conditioner or body wash?? Also very little toilet roll.

I love the countryside and this place looks like it came out of a period drama 😍 Not luxury but if you are a hiker coming to the countryside to relax this is perfect! I was the only guest in the whole property when I visited ok a Sunday evening. Felt magical. Facilities could improve, like the restaurant and pub could be more active and offering better food but overall the cost 💲 was worth it. Rooms are big and staff is friendly.

No restaurant/pub open on Sunday and no room service.

Lovely building in a nice countryside location, staff were all lovely and the location was convenient for us, I think if you relied on public transport you might struggle but if you've got a car, it's within fairly easy reach of lots of beautiful locations. Ideal spot for hiking etc as well if you like that sort of thing.

Nothing really to report, everything was great. We didn't happen to eat there on this occasion so I can't comment on the food service.

I booked last min the night before and when I called to clarify the number of people in the room - the hotel had already moved us (at no extra charge) to a larger room to accommodate us. The room was lovely, large and perfect for us! The breakfast options were limited, but lunch was great with a 3 course menu with lots of options! The location was also perfect for both Zip World and Henrhyd Falls within 10/20 mins of the hotel. Free easy parking is always a bonus!

The restaurant is dated and not very inviting - but overall perfect for an enjoyable stop over.

I loved this place the moment I walked in a warm welcome and the room was just beautiful very clean and quite big . Service was spot on, reception booked me a taxi and arranged my return journey. Breakfast was amazing the food was top notch and the waitress just couldn't be more helpful.

Clean and comfortable with generous sized bedrooms. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Hotel is convenient for the Beacons. Large and safe private parking. Excellent value for money.

Some of the decor could do with updating. Food options are limited as is service hours, so stick with the set evening menu which is excellent value. Breakfast is basic, but considering the price is again adequate.

Lovely feel to this hotel. Staff were friendly and attentive. Excellent location for exploring . We had a tour of the Penderyn distillery booked and it was only a few minutes drive from the hotel.

Personally we didn't dislike anything, as we liked the older country feel. A few changes such as new outdoor seating, or just removing broken and rusty furniture would help visually.

Great location with loads of character. The rooms were in character too. and very spacious. The menu in the restaurant was extensive and would fit all tastes. Did not check out whether there was a vegetarian or vegan options but there probably was. However the food we ordered was delicious, good potions and well worth the money. The area the hotel is located in has lots to do. Plenty of countryside or Cardiff is not that far. We enjoyed the stay, brief as it was, and hopefully will return for a longer stay.

Not much, but and it is the sign of the times, it looked short staffed and everything needs that bit more attention to detail. Sorry to clarify I mean when it comes to cleaning. To me it was obvious that the team are very stretched and time limited to complete their tasks.

Quiet location middle of nature. Evening meal was fine. Except coleslaw. We love classic architecture. Personell very helpful. Even despite details, we loved the stay.

Towels don't get changed during our 2 day stay. Coleslaw was due, despite I told servant, never got appologized or even compensated. Rooms are £115 pppn and breakfast £12,95 each. Coffee is not fresh.
