My husband and I got married here in June 2022, and we look forward to returning every year for our anniversary. This year, we had our cocker spaniel puppy, Louie, in tow! Llechwen Hall is such a special place to us - even before we got married, we loved coming here for special Sunday lunches and afternoon teas. The food is always beautiful and delicious, and the staff are always warm and attentive both in the restaurant and in the hotel itself. The orangery is gorgeous, and small enough to feel private and cosy. The bedrooms are incredibly comfortable, and spacious too - plenty of room for our puppy's crate! And we absolutely adore being able to spend time in the lounge area by the bar, it's always so relaxed and cosy especially with a nice glass of something delicious and Welsh, like a Merlyn's cream liqueur. Lounge area was also refurbished this year, but still in keeping with the style of the building. The restaurant has been expanded into the lounge area slightly, too - meaning that well behaved doggies can relax with you while you eat and drink (they're not allowed into the orangery). For us, Llechwen Hall is a 10/10 if you're looking to eat and drink, curl up with a book, enjoy the incredible views and scenery, and not do very much else at all! The perfect quiet little getaway.

If you're looking for amenities like spa, sauna, swimming pool, massage etc, this isn't the place for you - but we don't feel the hotel needs any of this at all!

The property has been refurbished, the decor is very tasteful and of a high standard. Our room was beautiful and very clean. I loved it. The bed was huge (two singles pushed together), and very comfortable. It was one of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed in for some time. Breakfast was fabulous, and the breakfast host was a very smiley and helpful man.

Our bathroom was adapted for wheelchair users. I’m not sure if it was the only room available…however it was clean, but sadly there was a strong smell of urine around the toilet area. The shower head was way too low (the top part wasn’t working), and the hand basin was very low down. The hotel was a bit noisy. We were woken during the night a few times by guests talking very loudly in the corridor as we were on the ground floor. Reception staff weren’t particularly welcoming. Despite the above, we would definitely stay again, providing we had a better bathroom!

As always the dinner menu is phenomenal absolutely stunning in every way the level of cleanliness is always outstanding staff are always welcoming helping and kind a 10/10 experience as always and it was lovely to see that the staff are still such a high standard of professional and kind can’t do enough for you

only thing that let this stay down was the breakfast i was thoroughly looking forward to it as last time it was buffet style this time it was only one hot plate available snd very small one at that abd when it arrived it was swimming in oil to the point I used a napkin to wipe my plate juice was mostly room temp rather than cold. The lay out was very cramped in constantly having to wait for someone to move and only one coffee machine available so there was always a wait. The breakfast was the only thing that let this stay down other than that

Everything. It is a brilliant. Quiet location with lovely views. Feels rural yet 10mins drive from Pontypridd. Room was really nice. I had superior double. Dogs stay free which is amazing for standard of hotel. Breakfast was really nice with some nice touches like 'sweet treat' 'fruit shots' really enjoyed staying there as its so relaxed and peaceful.

My room wasn't cleaned well.the last two days. Bit slap dash. Seemed it was a male cleaner. Didn't even empty bins or vacuum. Just replenished tea coffee. Replaced towels, sort of tidied bed but. All looked like couldn't be bothered. I keep room clean and tidy myself and prior to that cleaning was really good.

We had a really lovely stay overall. The restaurant was great, and the views from the outdoor seating area were beautiful. I also loved that the place is cat-friendly. Not many places are! The staff were friendly and polite, and the whole place had a really peaceful, quiet vibe with a beautiful view.

They charged us £11 for a bottle of water through room service. When I asked, they said there’s a £5 room service fee, which felt a bit much for just a bottle of water which was ridiculuos. There was a strong sewerage smell coming every now and then while we were sat outside trying to have a drink. Rooms were ok for the price we paid but was not sound proof.

I booked three rooms including one for my disabled mother. All the rooms were very well appointed, clean & very comfortable. The disabled room was particularly excellent as were the staff - overall outstanding value for money!

If I had to find one problem it was that the help yourself part of the breakfast was down some stairs that were not suitable for my disabled mother to go to herself. That said, it wasn’t an issue as although I got her drink & pastry, Im sure the staff would have done so when the brought the hot breakfast which was also excellent value.

The continental breakfast was really good with an excellent choice, the coffee was also really good. The Welsh breakfast sounded delicious but we were still full from our evening meal which was also superb. The staff were very efficient, helpful and polite.

We were both very disappointed with our room. It certainly wasn’t the photo on the check in email. The room was obviously very tired! and needs to be refurbished. This was a disappointment and it felt as if we were in an entirely different hotel. Simple we would not have booked if we knew that was the standard of the rooms. Also a stained grubby cigarette end was ( if not blown away by now) on the dirty outside window sill. On a small note the table tops on the patio needed to be cleaned.

Booking process and pre arrival info was clear and easy. Ample parking and friendly informative welcome. The room was clean, comfortable with all you could need neatly arranged in the wardrobe to ensure your first view was the room. The bar lounge was cosy, welcoming and well stocked and the restaurant was extremely clean with lots of light flooding from the windows and skylight. Our meals were hot, presented beautifully and full of flavour and our waitress went above and beyond in making us feel extremely welcome with a wonderful personality, as if our first visit had been a return. If all the other elements were the cake then she was definitely the cherry. Breakfast had plenty to offer and checkout was a breeze. Well done to the whole team.

We didn’t travel with cash and had no where to obtain it to pass a gratuity to our waitress and this disappointed me a lot. Even if service charges are included, when it exceeds your expectations you don’t mind showing it with a little extra.

Staff were welcoming, friendly too The decor was light and interesting. I did love the breakfast and the way it was presented. One of the best I've had. Well done.

I was slightly disappointed with the evening dining. My husband and l had travelled all day , we fancied something light so was hoping to find soup on the menu but there wasn't. I should have asked as during our main meal my husband felt un well so he had to leave it. I can't fault their kindness towards my husband, their understanding of the matter and going out of their way to help him. . They were wonderful. They wanted to bring him something to eat but all he wanted was time to settle and a cup of tea so a variety of biscuits were brought and a jug of cold water. Their assurance that we could call on them anytime if needed.

Convenient location for a stay after a friend booked us tickets to a concert in Aberdare. We were in the Coach House which was comfortable and having a ground floor room was great as my wife can struggle with lots of stairs. Breakfast was really nice. We were impressed with the upgrades the owners are doing to the hotel having not been for many years. We were told that the Coach House is on the ‘To Do List’ for upcoming renovations so my wife made one small suggestion that they should add carpet or a runner on the stairs as you can hear people on them from the room we were in. It wasn’t a problem for us, it was just something she noticed. We are looking forward to our next stay and to see what happens next with this beautiful hotel!
