Spent two nights, perfect location for a great price. Very responsive staff, 24/7 desk, check in/check out quickly, without a hitch. Daily cleaning, very clean, snow white and soft towels, nice bath accessories. Upon entering the room, there was a welcome bottle of water, a small snack, the room has a mini fridge, TV, heater, hair dryer. Sand beach - across the street, many cafes, shops, restaurants around. There is a city bus to the airport, once a hour (1.50 eur), the station is a 15-minute walk away. Definitely recommend!

We had another wonderful stay at La Scaletta Hotel! The breakfast was absolutely perfect, with a lovely selection of both savoury and sweet options to suit every taste. A special mention goes to Lucia, who was so warm and welcoming—she truly made our mornings feel extra special. The coffee, cappuccino, and even a babycino for my son were just perfect. Our room was a good size, very comfortable, and came with a balcony offering a beautiful view over the sea. It was such a treat to wake up to that every morning. The room also had a hair dryer, which was very convenient. We would definitely return—such a charming place with kind staff. Highly recommend!

Perhaps If I had to mention anything, it would be that a softer or lower pillow might have made the sleep even more comfortable, and having a kettle in the room would’ve been a nice extra touch. Overall, though, it was a lovely experience and we’d definitely return.

Breakfast was very varied, with fresh coffee, pastries and fruit! Staff was kind, amazing and attentive, they gave us tips on how to use the beach service and how to get to airport the cheapest way. It's also just across from the beach and a few steps from really good restaurants!

It's on a main road, so obviously it'll be a bit noisy. It did not bother us, as we knew this coming in, but worth noting for others.

The hotel, facilities and staff were all excellent. The location is great - right next to the beach if that is your thing and about 40 minutes to the heart of ancient Rome on the train (Trains about every 20 minutes and €1.50 for journeys of 100 minutes or less). It was great to be able to escape the heat and bustle of central Rome and head back to the seaside at the end of each day. Plenty of restaurants to choose from in Ostia, especially if you like fish! All those we used were very good.

The only slight niggle is that the hotel is in a popular spot, especially popular with the younger generations, so it can get quite noisy, sometimes into the early hours.

Friendly staff and great services. I got some good, local advice re trains and routes. The room was very nice, comfy bed (could do with two pillows or a thicker one), the AC was fantastic. The different wifi servers were spotty and hard to connect with, but still worked and I’m grateful for that service.

The location was beautiful; however, trying to get there from the airport was not ideal. I said I was interested in the shuttle service when I booked (through booking.com) but it never went anywhere.

Living in Australia and traveling a lot in Europe, I am used to different types of accommodation and hotels. At the La Scaletta hotel I found a family service of excellent level. The hotel is located in a very central area, on the seafront of Ostia Lido, right in front of the sea. The Director Stefano is very kind and very professional, and tried in every way to fulfill my requests. The room was clean, with a good supply of accessories and toiletries. The breakfast included in the price of the room, was complete and full of fresh and typical products of the area, while the service offered by Lucia was simply perfect, thanks to her courtesy and professionalism. The cost of the room was in line with that of similar structures, but the quality of the service was excellent. I recommend this hotel for short and medium stays, especially in summer, and I am sure to return to stay at La Scaletta on my next trips to Rome

It was all good. I suggest leaving the door of the cabinet containing the minibar open, to make it work better

Hotel had beautiful view of ocean, the staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful! Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of food and drinks. Room was clean.

I don't want to nitpick, but the bathroom was very small and there was nowhere to set anything down in bathroom. Also, 2 pillows each would have been nice. Overall, we were happy!

Hotel La Scalla's location is perfect. One gets to enjoy the beautiful sunset as the sea is a few steps away from the hotel. The reception desk is managed by a professional staff. They do not have a parking lot but one can find parking somehow along the street. We went in late November though which means that there were fewer tourists thus we managed to find parking. It could well be a different story in peak summer months.

The only thing that I didn't like was the very strong air freshener that they use in the rooms. The smell was overpowering for an asthmatic like me. Otherwise, we didn't have other problems.

Great location right on beach. Perfect for our final night in Italy before flying out of FCO the next day. Big bonus getting to explore a local beach town with scores of restaurants and night life
