It's more like a guesthouse, and located well inside the fort so you can only reach the place by autos or walking. We were allowed early check-in to rest after a long bus trip. Staff are nice and will accommodate your requests. Rooms are spacious, hot water runs 24/7. The restaurant on the top floor has very good view, though when we stayed it was quite hot sitting outside even in the evening. The hotel is also affiliated with a tour operator for "non-touristic" desert safaris (that is, you are arranaged your own camel and can choose to sleep outdoors at the dunes instead of in a crowded desert camp) and the prices after bargaining are rather reasonable compared to other operators.

Our rooms do not have AC, though it's not a big problem. Rooms facing outward of the fort wall could be very hot during the day. Restaurant is a bit pricey (to be fair, food prices in Jaisalmer are more expensive than in other cities we visited).

Hotel Surya has an awesome location with a superb view. You can enjoy your stay in Jaisalmer right in the center of the fort with everything within walking distance. The service in the hotel is very good and Sakur/Bhanu and their team will take great care of you. In the morning there will be a person who will sing nice Rajasthani welcome song during your breakfast. Restaurant in the hotel is great and you can enjoy the great view with it. The hotel team will also arrange or advise you about Desert safari and other tours. The rooms are also very good (AC rooms with view) and we had rooms with very nice view of the city. Overall a great experience. The hotel guys will also help arrange autos to take your luggage to railway station or vehicle down the fort.

Not much to mention but if you want change of towel, water bottle or room cleaning then please ask for it, and they will take care

Great View. Great Hospitality. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. We have a very pleasant stay for 2 nights over the new year. Our room was very nice with large balcony overlooking city below. We also love their restaurant. It has great view and great food. It is conveniently located in the Fort, walking distance to attractions. However, given that located in Fort. There can be problem as there is no vehicle access during day time when there are lots of on foot Fort visitor. The hotel sent motorcycle to pick up our luggage (otherwise we have to drag everything all the way on foot - Thank you!)

No vehicle access during the day / peak hour. Not accepting credit card/ debit card - not a problem but can be more convenient for payment.

- Hot water wasn't working - One of the nights there was a wedding right in front of the hotel with very loud music until early morning hours - Wifi unusable in our room

Simply everything here is amazing. Room and bathroom were tidy and clean and beds also very comfortable. These room has the best view of Jaisalmer and you can see the best view of sunrise from the room. Bhanu the manager of the hotel is very friendly and he always willing to help with any situation. They have a restaurant area where you can sit and enjoy the evening view of Jaisalmer city while enjoying the amazing food from their menu. I highly recommend to stay at least one night in this place to enjoy the best out of Jaisalmer.

Wifi connection inside the room isn't strong.

i went to this hotel as a tourist and i went with many friends, but in a special way Mr Bhanu. He was a very dear friend, at whatever time I called him he was there. And sometimes it happened to call him even at night. he always helped me with a big smile. For what I paid, I got a lot more. It was a service that not even a 5-star hotel could give me. I have always felt in the right place. I only wanted to spend one day and it's been seven. Any request I've made has always been accepted. If one day I had my own hotel, I would call Mr Bhanu to work for me.

The view from the room from 102 is breathtaking and exceptional. The cafe also gives you peaceful vibes. You can have everything under one roof Indian, Chinese, Continental. The politeness of staff and professionally they treat you is amazing. Bhanu bhaiya The manager of the property is very soft spoken and very informative person and he can give you main city points to visit which would save your time and day.

Nothing is there to be disliked.

The location is superb as you will live in the Living Fort of Jaisalmer experiencing the culture and heritage. Bhanu and his staff is exceptional as he gave us early check in morning, upgraded our room to better view and also very sweetly cooked dinner for us. He truly is the best host and I would recommend this place to everyone.

Very good location, inside the fort, in one of the towers, with a view over the city and a nice place to sit and bath in sun (untill afternoon) or just look at the city (afternoon, evening, night). They also serve food and have a nice range of options.

The bathroom and the room could have been cleaner, but they are in a medieval fort, so not that bad.

You will get the feeling of staying in the fort itself. The rooms and washrooms are clean. Food quality is good. The view from the hotel is very nice. You will get the view of the golden city. Overall comfort level is good.

Only to reach property from the bottom of the fort is difficult. But if you take an auto it will be easy.
