We LOVED our stay at Hotel The Surya! Staying inside the fort with a beautiful balcony area to sit and watch the sunrise over Jaisalmer was really an amazing and unique experience. The staff were super lovely and always will to go above and beyond. We have most if not all of our meals at the rooftop restaurant which was fairly priced and we enjoyed everything we ordered. The room was spacious, clean and super comfortable. We booked an overnight desert camp with them which was awesome and they were helpful and respectful when we expressed our wishes not to have a camel ride included. its an amazing central location for exploring the town- highly recommend.

This hotel is great! Facilities are old but well kept, bathroom is very spacious. Bed is comfy enough. Staff is super friendly. Location cannot be beaten, this is super central and inside the Jaisalmer fort. Restaurant was really really good - although a tad overpriced (even for Jaisalmer Fort) Pick up from the airport was an OK deal. Very convenient, but as we traveled further into India, I realize we might have overpaid a little bit.

I booked a room with a balcony, but what the room had I wouldn't call a balcony. It was a small place with 270 degrees windows that protruded out of the room.

Dream location built into the walla of the fort. I booked 2 rooms, one for my daughter and her husband was excellent with an amazing view from a balcony window and all good facilities. The one just for me which was a bit cheaper was not quite as good but still good value for money. I didn't realise you could open the window by moving the window seat cushion. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooftop restaurant had fabulous views and

Small room bathroom was a bit dilapidated, but seemed clean. Lots of high steps - comes with old character buildings of the area though.

Lovely welcome, staff (Bhanu and everyone) were extremely friendly, extremely kind and couldn't do enough for us. Location was amazing inside the fort with wonderful south easterly views over the city. Room was clean with beautiful juliet sitting balcony- perfect for warching the sunrise and evening reflection/relaxation.

Bathroom could have been a little cleaner but nothing major (still one of the cleanest bathrooms in rajasthan so don't let that put you off!)

This is place is a hidden gem inside the Jaisalmer fort. We liked everything about the place- the people, the ambiance, the view, the food, everything was excellent. The host Surya and his team is really doing a fantastic job and they really knows importance of customer satisfaction and excellent hospitality. They have also arranged our tours to SAM dunes where we also had nothing to complain. I should also mention about Raj who was taking care and severing us the food in the roof top restaurant who is really well behaved, always with a pleasant smiling face. So the decision to stay at this place has really made our whole Jaisalmer stay truly memorable.

Amazing hotel the surya jaisalmer ! The rooms are super clean and I loved the Indian character. The views from the windows and the daybed under the window are stunning! It was super cool to stay inside an actually fort. The rooftop restaurant has AMAZING views and the food was always tasty. We ordered room service and ate at the actual restaurant numerous times. Both the manager and worker were soooo lovely. We did a ‘non tourististic’ camel safari with them and that was awesome too. The mattress and pillows were super comfy as well, such an added bonus! The shower had hot water- mostly hottest at night and the pressure was the best in India so far. Highly highly recommend.

Everything was perfect

The hotel rooms are really comfortable and clean and we enjoyed the small balkony a lot. The hotel is located near a lot of sightseeing activities. We can also recommend the restaurant on top of the hotel. We also booked a camel safari with the hotel and spend one night in the destert. The Tour is a bit more expensive then others but if you dont mind paying a bit more I can also recommend it.

It's more like a guesthouse, and located well inside the fort so you can only reach the place by autos or walking. We were allowed early check-in to rest after a long bus trip. Staff are nice and will accommodate your requests. Rooms are spacious, hot water runs 24/7. The restaurant on the top floor has very good view, though when we stayed it was quite hot sitting outside even in the evening. The hotel is also affiliated with a tour operator for "non-touristic" desert safaris (that is, you are arranaged your own camel and can choose to sleep outdoors at the dunes instead of in a crowded desert camp) and the prices after bargaining are rather reasonable compared to other operators.

Our rooms do not have AC, though it's not a big problem. Rooms facing outward of the fort wall could be very hot during the day. Restaurant is a bit pricey (to be fair, food prices in Jaisalmer are more expensive than in other cities we visited).

It has a great location inside the fort with great views. It’s an ancient haveli - better than being in town. You have to hire a tuk-tuk to get there. There are good restaurants nearby. The staff did best to accommodate us and allowed us to change our room plans. It was clean.

The staff were a little laid back (but maybe that’s a good thing).
