Very good food quality in restaurants. Great beach. Very kind staff.

- almost nobody speaks English in an international hotel - noise entertainment at the beaches - blocking of sunbeds from guest before 6.00 am !!!!!! - reservation of huge beach area for "VIP guests" - an nobody is there

I can see why this hotel is 5 stars, its the little details, all the staff will say hello to you, yes there are a few that dont speak good English but they will always try and help, they even put their "catalonia" logo in their smoking sand every morning. The beach is about a 7 minute walk from reception area and is beautiful but people are not wrong when they say you have to get up at 6am to reserve a decent spot. We had heard of other places in the dominican having serious seaweed issues and there were zero here. We went to see the fish in the corals which was wonderful. Food at the Peruvian restaurant was incredible. Only downside is if you dont book somewhere to eat for the night you will end up just getting room service with a very limited menu. We did find a lot of things out later on in the holiday as no one explained anything except where the beach was, we weren't sure on what services we could use or which part of the beach to use etc. We got some form of bug which had us being sick for 3 days and had no idea they had medical supplies at the shop which would've really helped. The room was incredible, slight issue with water pressure but nothing big and everything was clean. We wanted to take Esther the cleaning lady home with us, she was just a vibe. So welcoming and lovely and even came to say goodbye when we left. Another staff shout out is for the woman who works on the "non adults" side at the beach bar, she was always happy to see us and exclaimed "palm beach!" (My drink of choice) every time we went up and was full of smiles. Overall we had an excellent time and we will definitely be back. The friendly staff counteract the rude guests and the scenery is just incredible.

This was a very quiet, perfectly relaxing place for adults only. It is not a party hotel, doesn't have a ton of activities, and it definitely has a lean on an older crowd. Which worked just perfectly for us as a slightly younger couple looking for a quiet week away from our 3 amazingly loved, but exhausting children. The hotel is flanked by two larger, family friendly hotels, so there will be some children you encounter down by the beach area - if that will offend you for some reason, this isn't the hotel for you. Both the hotels on either side have music playing all day, so you do hear it, but it is not loud or obnoxious. We found all the staff to be very kind and accommodating - be kind to them, and learn how to say "Please" and "Thank you" in Spanish. Kindness, a smile, and general good manners go a long way. Not every single staff member speaks English, but guess what? You're not in an English speaking country, so don't get upset when someone doesn't understand you. Google Translate can help you in a pinch, but we never felt it was necessary. We stayed in a duplex suite with a rooftop pool - it was nice, but we're still undecided if it was worth the extra money. There are pros and cons to every room option. We barely used the first floor - unless you plan on eating in your room a lot, or need to work, it's not really necessary. It's true that a lot of people reserve chairs and beds - sometimes in multiple places. Don't be those people, btw. But we went in early February and never had a problem finding somewhere to lay down. The servers come around often to take drink orders. Siwichi was hands down the best a la carte, and the pool side snack bar consistently delivered the best food. There's always good and bad to buffets, but overall we found the food to be pretty decent. Likely wouldn't say 5 stars, though. We got room service nearly every day, at all times of day.

This hotel does not have a great selection for vegetarians, and if you're vegan - forget it. Unless you are fluent in Spanish and able to ask for substitutions, don't even bother. Both times we dined in the Sea Blue/Toscana restaurants by the beach, we got sick. The first time wasn't too bad, and we wrote it off as maybe too much sun. But the second time was the night before we checked out, and we got sick again. I mostly had an unsettled stomach, but my husband was much worse. I'll spare the details, but the 11 hours of travelling it took for us to get home were awful.

Great service, the food was excellent and the facilities were impecable. Excellent activities, all was very clean , the staff was very happy to help with everything even out of the ordinary petitions

Some of the staff used to have personal conversations while the guests were there, it was a little uncomfortable. Not that big a deal, not so noticeable specially by non spanish speaking guests, but it was a bit annoying for those of us who understand

Not a lot of space around the pools, was nearly impossible to get a deck chair in the shade. Wi-fi was mediocre, didnt really work in our room, everywhere else it was fine

Their organised classes especially the beach ones are quite disturbing - far too noisy, there was always just handful of people attending and everyone else was complaining the activities were just not well suited for the hotel clientele- local music and the trainers were shouting and jumping around all the time… also it’s all inclusive and the food is absolutely dreadful- looks nice and seems there’s a lot of choice but the quality is horrible… lost weight whilst on a hol there as could barely eat anything- it was catered heavily towards the lower mass market unfortunately so doesn’t really match a 5* hotel

The Only Adults area is amazing. The beach is awesome! Specially in seaweed season, this beach doesn’t have any and was wonderful

Is still crowded and something I really don’t like is how they let people smoke everywhere. We’re in 2025 where in a lot of places even if you’re outdoor, if it’s a common space with other people you are not allow to smoke. And that surprise me a lot how I had to breathe smoke everywhere.

I’m vegan, didn’t have too many options for the meals. That should be improved. On Sunday the gardeners were working around us at the small and more private pool. We complained about it because they were very noisy, but had to wait until they finished. That wasn’t nice at all.

it did not delivered the adults only promise the family hotel is by the side and share restaurants and areas. crying kids sharing beach area and restaurants was not pleasant

The adults-only portion of this resort was fantastic. The buffets for breakfast and lunch were top-notch; there were ample chairs and umbrellas on the beach, as well as employees walking around offering to get drinks for you. The pools were fantastic, and again, people would come around occasionally to get us drinks from the bar. Bloved and Toscana were by far the best of the 8 or 9 restaurants but make sure you make your reservations a few days in advance. It was very convenient to be able to do this on our phones. All-inclusive really means all-inclusive at this resort. The only thing we paid for was spa services and any extra excursions off site that we wanted to do. It was great to have the mini bar restocked frequently without worrying about extra charges. The staff were always very concerned about your experience and truly did want you to have a fantastic stay. They were very attentive and willing to get you anything you needed. I would definitely return to this location.

There is currently construction happening on a seemingly new hotel/building near the main (family) pool, so at times during the day, if you were in the area, it could be loud. However, you didn't notice it at all in the adults-only portion of the resort or even down on the beach. There were a few general upkeep areas that could be addressed in the room, but all in all, the resort was kept very clean.
