We liked the quirkyness of the hotel. The room was small but cool and quiet. The location is great for touring the mountains. The young lady who served us breakfast was lovely.

We waited until 8pm for the restaurant to open but it remained shut, fortunately a customer told us it wasn't opening so we walked into town and fortunately found a restaurant open and a shop to buy water. A simple note on the door would have been helpful. Other than the young lady at breakfast, we saw no staff. Entering the room with the electronic system was difficult, I am hard of hearing and couldn't hear the digits bleeping, and my phone wouldn't open the lock.

The cave houses were excellent, the gardens were lovely, in season the swimming pool looked great. Parking was excellent. The host Efren, was very helpful from when I booked until we got there,even sending a video of our cave houses as we were late checking in. He was helpful and informative for the whole time. I look forward to returning next year maybe in the spring..

Because of out of season the restaurant was only open Friday to Sunday. It could do with a grab handle in the shower for unsteady people. Also a kettle and perhaps a door mat.

Everything is perfect ! I was upgraded. And he allowed me to stay after the checkout time. Very quiet in the winter. The natural area behind the complex is excellent for hiking, mountain biking and in my case orienteering. It is very quiet too.

Public transport to Benalua is scarce, only one train in day time, no bus.

As we were checking in outside of the official check in hours, the very friendly reception had sent us a little movie via Whatsapp on how to walk from the reception to our room. I think he will become a movie star ! And the key was on the door of our room, so perfect for us. The food in the restaurant is very good and the choice is very large.

Our updated GPS had troubles to show us the road out of town in the direction of Guadix, so be prepared for a little challenge.

It was perfect for two couples traveling together ……. We had the three bed two bath cave.

Nothing. . .but we wish we had arrived during daylight! And we forgot to take pictures! We took the pictures off the website of our cave.

Everything was perfect. Cave 2 was lovely and cool and perfect on a very hot summers day. Great lounge, kitchen bedroom and bathroom. Swimming pool was lovely to cool down in. Breakfast was typically Spanish and delicious.

The fridge in our cave was a bit noisy but this was a very minor thing

The caves where exceptional and true reflection of southern Spain. The attitude from the staff where fantastic from beginning to end. Overall I would certainly recommend and go back again. This area is the real spain.

The restaurant was expensive compared to local bars/ restaurants but you have to remember its on the complex so expect prices to be elevated.

House was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Cuevas La Granja is eco friendly place: inside temperature is lovely cool, for heating water they use solar energy & biomass and paying special attention to recycling of trash. Efren warmly welcomed us and provided vast amount of information and sightseeing’s in the local area.
