Great location, under 10 mins to the train station, good area, close to the Main Street with heaps of shops and food. Storage for bags at the hotel was awesome. We got to explore the day we left without worrying about our bags

Price on booking com was about double the price at the hotel. As I didn’t realise I booked a room with a double bed, and we wanted 2 seperate beds I booked another room and it was much cheaper at the location

The location was close to restaurants and shops so that walking was the best option. The twin rooms were spacious. Rooms were clean and fit for purpose.

The double room was a little small and there was tile damage on the bathroom walls where you could see damage to the wall paneling. There also could have been more coat hangers in the hanging space, as we used all that was provided and would have liked a couple more, as it was winter during our visit. Perhaps the room was a little to hard to cool down if the heater was turned up too high. The boys had to get a key to open their window.

Breakfast was a vast buffet consisting of mainly Japanese fare with approximately 30 different individual dishes. Location in Yamagata is superb and parking is validated for the 4 days we were there for a total of 2000 yen

The hotel does not have on-site parking, it is 50m from the hotel which really isn't an issue but you should be aware that you may have to clear snow off the vehicle.

We stayed a tripple room. It was huge. The furniture is not fixed to the walls or floor so you can move it around as you need it. We moved all the beds together and slept as a family of four (one elementary school kid, we announced the number of guests beforehand and payed for the additional breakfast at check in) very comfortable in the three beds. An additional blanket was in the cupboard and each bedding consisted of two pillows anyhow, so no problem.

The location of the hotel is a little far away from the station. With luggage it’s a GOOD 15 minutes walking distance. At check-in we discovered there is a loop bus (100 yen for adults, 50 yen for primary school kids) going from the hotel to the station (10 minutes bus ride). It would have been nice to have this information on the general information page about the hotel on booking as well. The name of the loop bus is ベニちゃんバスbeni chan bus.

Convenient to much of the city and downtown - only a 12 minute walk from the station. Lots of local restaurants nearby. Good selection at breakfast with comfortable beds and a very large room (especially given typical Japanese rooms I've stayed in). Check in was quick and seamless, no issues. Would happily stay here again.

Great location near the palace ruins with many local shops. They were very accommodating with our limited Japanese and, when one of our party was feeling unwell, they were very flexible with a delayed check-out at a very reasonable cost. The beds were also comfortable and the existence of a triple room was very good!

I love the breakfast. It was a good boost with all-you-can-eat Japanese breakfast. The parking is easy to reach. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will book again if I have a chance to visit Yamagata!

The pain au chocolat and croissants at the breakfats buffet were excellent. The dumplings and salmon were delicious too! The bacon and sausage were nice and the soups and rice were nice too. Despite being a little limited, it made for a satisfying breakfast. The bathroom had good hot water instantly and the coffee machine in the room was impressive. The staff were very friendly, polite, and helpful.

The breakfast buffet was nice but was a little limited in some parts. The scrambled eggs were like a runny paste without flavour. No fruit except a limited choice of orange or pineapple.

Real comfortable vintage yet classic hotel. It's basically located in the heart of Yamagata city which you can get access to almost anything you want such as groceries supermarket, Izakaya, food chain, AEON mall and etc. great deal and value for money to stay in the hotel.

Nothing much

We love the variety meals we can choose for breakfast (local foods was delicious!). Location was great walking distance to restaurants and Kajo park. There is an Izakaya restaurant/Yamagata street food nearby the hotel. The hotel is 15 minute walk from the train station. Helpful staffs, managed to booked transport for us (11pax) on the new year's day! 30 minute drive to Zao Ropeway to visit snow monster (Must visit in winter) 1 hour drive to Ginzan Onzen (Can skip this-Not suitable to bring kids) Washing machine and vending machine was good to have on our 5th floor.

Its old hotel but its clean, basic and has it charm.
