Really nice staff - they patiently welcomed me despite the language barrier (I speak only basic Japanese and rely heavily on online translator). The location is amazing - it's literally next to the station and impossible to miss after you step out of the train. The onsen is clean and nice. The TV in the room shows accurate crowd info about onsen, washing machines, and the restaurant. Their washing machines are the best - detergent is provided automatically (no need to bring yours), and clothes are dried automatically & properly.

Nothing. If must say, it's not near the most popular tourist spots, but only with a 5-minutes walk.

1. very close to the train station. and 10 min walk to the river. 2. buffet breakfast is very good. lobby has a free coffee machine and coffee is good 3. we have 2 double beds so room and bathroom are good size. and we face the parking so quiet. like the public bath at ground floor 4. can leave luggage before check in and after check out. Strict with check in time from 15:00. staff are nice overall we had a very good stay the this hotel

if check in can be more flexible as our flight arrived at 6am and we got to the hotel at 9am. even at 14:30 we still needed to wait til 15:00.

Route-Inn Katori Sawara Hotel is immediately and conveniently beside JR Sawara station. Historic area is nearby as is the overpass to $10/hr entertainment center (bowling, pool and ping pong tables, arcade, etc.) Hotel reception staff very friendly, helpful, & polite. 3 of 4 times, I was the only person in hotel's sento! Clean, newish, smoke-free & windows actually opened for airflow. Air-conditioning & dehumidifier came in very handy (October). Nice firm beds, unique pillows, smooth one side w palpable neck support. Room window was above, though train-line side, fairly soundproof w window closed. Unobstructed morning sunrises, a beautiful surprise. Cardinal sento includes countryside bus & 25 minute walk during which you'll pass a park, stop to check out incredible rock foot massage path, worth the excursion! Japanese style breakfast (primarily Japanese tourists).

Marketing, like many in Japan, is understated. Typical bathroom Japanese design elements ie,. Toilet in another room, is perhaps unique to the Japanese tourist; however, my preference is to keep toilet in a separate space. Noticeable how many times a separated toilet room would have come in handy!

Breakfast was wonderful with variety and well-cooked by dedicated chefs - a bonus for the economical rate charged for the room with breakfast. Rooms were clean and furnished with great toiletries and good quality towels. Location is perfect for a short drive to Narita Airport and the Katori-Sawara town is really perfect for Edo period exploration.

Extra pillows would have been welcomed. And non caffeine hot drinks like chocolate would have made my breakfast perfect.

They provide good breakfast and have lots of parking. We arrived late and they parking lots were full. They directed us to another car park just 2mins walk from hotel.

When we went for dinner at the hotel. Despite most tables were empty we were told that they were fully booked. Anyway we managed to secure a place. Dinner was so so only

Quite a big hotel, but very friendly and well managed. Good size room with comfortable beds and large bathroom. Free car park is a bonus. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Breakfast is included, with a good variety of items. There is a also a public bath. Good choice in the area

The hotel is right next to the train station. Without any noise from it. The room was spacious. Shops and a few restaurants are within 100 meters. The Bus station is on the other side of the tracks (without an elevator though). A good breakfast is included in the room price.

Having to go to the coffee machine in the lobby to get a hot cup of breakfast coffee.

Wonderful stay, easy check in experience with kind staff. Hotel is well prepared for english-speakers coming in from the train, location is right by then Sawara train station exit and instructions/directions throughout the building were also available in English. Wonderful onsen tub and breakfast.

Amazing place to stay! 1 minute near the train station! The staff was really friendly and had a lot of care for us! Breakfast as a lot to chose from and everything was tasty! The room as a lot of space and a beautiful view from the city! Bathroom was super clean and really well equipped! We loved this stay so much!

Being so close to the train station was fantastic. The breakfast was delicious and gave us a great start to each day. The room was very clean and comfortable. We aLSL enjoyed being able to explore the town and find interesting points of interest so close-by.
