Lovely place to stay in historic Sawara near the canal. Beautifully styled, spacious room (Yata) with seating area and desk. Generous complimentary soft drinks, wine and beer. Well airconditioned. Parking right outside the door. Beautiful breakfast served in the main Kagura building. Welcoming and helpful staff.

The room has no outlook. Although there was a private courtyard garden you can’t see it from inside because the door glass is frosted which is I pity. The pillow is also a hard Japanese style one so bring your own if you like a softer pillow.

If there were a rating higher than 10 this place should have it. I was expecting very rustic but from the moment we arrived at the gorgeous reception it had the feeling of a 5 star hotel and our “room” which covered two floors was everything we hoped for-Authentic with a modern comfort. All drinks were complimentary and we even had gift bags on the bed. The breakfast was an outstanding Japanese style where all dietary restrictions were met. This was definitely a splurge for us but worth and the perfect final night in Japan before flying out of Narita.

A bit confusing at first to find the reception address

Not a common experience!

Noisy due to too traffics located to the street. My room was too apart from the reception and the kind staff carried our big heavy luggages all the way without carrage car. We were concerned about our luggage wheels.

Great converted old buildings, some of which are in great locations. We were overlooking the canal with all the merchant houses. Large Japanese style breakfast with many courses, free fully stocked mini bar. Late check out.

It’s expensive.

Excellent hotel for travellers who wish to immerse into the history of Sawara. Staffs are exceptional. The eat local dinning experience is superb.

Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Very Japanese styled rooms and designs. Located in old town Narita. Very good breakfast. If you want to experience Japanese culture this is the hotel to stay.

We had hard time to find the main reception. Rooms are located all over the main old town road… In summer time maybe it’s better but winter time its a disaster. Can’t ask anyone for direction because nobody speaks English. I don’t recommend this place for winter because everything around is closed and rooms get very cold at night.
