The room was good value for money, with all the amenities one would expect. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. Extra milk, towels and pillow were provided as requested. The room had excellent external roller shutters which excluded the light well, very useful when trying to sleep. The breakfast was a continental as expected and had all that was required. The hotel is an excellent stop over for when travelling to the south east of France, very French. We were made to feel very welcome and would not hesitate to stay again

Should point out no lift for those less able Car park could be an issue when busy

We arrived late and the owner and his wife were so nice and helpful. In the morning, we only wanted a coffee which we had in their bar, which was full of locals. Because we were only staying one night, our regret was that we didn't have time to look around Chaumont, although we did visit the viaduct after we left in the morning.

Pleasant welcome both for us and our dog. Convenient location, within easy walking distance of the centre. Street parking easy to find.

Some miniature cartons of milk to go with the tea- and coffee-making facilities would have been a plus. Breakfast was not really to our taste: no yogurt, no boiled eggs, no fruit salad, but never mind.

Super friendly hosts, pictures of property dont don’t do it justice it’s lovely, great parking, great bedroom, great big bed, tv, kettle, tea and coffee, lovely breakfast nothing is too much trouble for the hosts, lots to see in the surrounding area Chaumont is lovely. Highly recommend five stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

A very good continental breakfast consisting of tea or coffee, bread, jams, croissants etc. The Le Royal is well located on a one way street, 5 minutes from the town centre. Where there are many nice bars and restaurants in a quiet location. Arrived at 15.00, parked in free large secure car park and was greeted by the happy smiling owners. Then sat in hotel bar to enjoy a deserved drink after travelling from Chamonix.

We enjoyed every aspect of our stay,but did find Casino Supermarche in town centre a bit pricey for general shop and fuel. L'Clerc on the outskirt of town offers more pricewise

This hotel bettered my expectations. The room and bed were comfortable and clean. The hosts were friendly and helpful. There was a private car park and the location was a short walk to the town centre. Breakfast was fine too.

The couple that run the hotel made me most welcome and were very friendly. My room was clean and comfortable and I enjoyed a good breakfast in the morning for extra payment. Well worth it!

The comfort of the bed was so good and welcome after an 8-hour drive! We were warmly welcome and felt valued. The location is really good only 5 minutes walk to the town centre in a very quiet part of the town.

Lovely, friendly hosts , a cheap but lovely place to stay en route to South of France. Walking distance to good local restaurants. Peaceful location with good parking.

Being overly critical the only complaint could be that the towels proved were very thin.
