Oukai Villa Izumi is a peaceful paradise. The grounds are beautiful, with a gorgeous fish pond, bridges, bamboo forest and wooden walkway. The communal areas are gorgeous, including the lobby where there is a library, and lots of comfortable space to relax, and the restaurant with views out onto the garden. Our apartment was gorgeous, well equipped with snacks, drinks in the fridge and beautifully decorated. From our apartment, we could hear the rushing water of the stream beside us from the mountains. We had dinner and breakfast at the villa, both of which were wonderful. Scarlet and her husband are so kind and welcoming. They can’t do enough to help you. Scarlet’s husband collected us from the station for free, and they arranged for us to be driven back to the station the next morning. This was the perfect rest place following a busy 2 weeks exploring Japan. We couldn’t recommend it enough.

The buildings and the Japanese garden at the Villa are outstanding and the food the best we’ve ever experienced. The service was extraordinary - friendly, helpful, professional, and personal. The surrounding countryside and the local villages are wonderful to cycle around and very safe. The courtesy transport is exceptional. Overall, fabulous value for money and we will definitely be coming back.

Nothing. Everything was perfect - beyond reproach. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Such an amazing property appears traditional outside but extremely modern inside - perfect. The tatami mats are super thick - I didn't know such high comfort exists. Also, this is a great place to get some photos - even at night - there's a bridge and bamboo forest in the yard. Staff is very proactive and welcoming, meals were wonderful, everything was taken care of.

I only stayed 1 night :(

From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the authentic atmosphere and warm hospitality that made my stay truly memorable. The location of this Airbnb was perfect for those seeking a peaceful retreat away from the bustling city. Nestled amidst the serene surroundings, the village offered a unique glimpse into traditional Japanese life. I was instantly taken in by the picturesque beauty and the sense of tranquility that enveloped the area. One aspect that truly stood out during my stay was the exceptional hospitality of the hosts. They went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience. The shuttle service provided to the nearby train station was incredibly convenient and saved me both time and effort. It made exploring Osaka and the surrounding areas hassle-free.

The property was well managed. Service and food were wonderful. We got some nice Japanese whiskey and plum sake at the night. Property also provided free e-bikes rental and we explored a nice small village near by and had a comfortable countryside lunch. Property also provided convenient shuttle service that sent me to and pick me from the nearby train station as I did a day trip to the nearby Koyasan area.

The property is a slightly away from the train stations or supermarkets. So you have to either rely on its shuttle service or drive your own car.

Exceptional accommodations with new renovations. Breakfasts and dinners were included and by far, the highlight of our stay. Host Scarlet and staff provided so much exceptional service that we are planning a return for a longer stay in the fall. There are an amazing variety of plants and flowers in addition to the cherry blossom trees that surround this beautiful place of refuge. So peaceful, quiet, and relaxing to refresh your soul and unwind. We were fortunate to be able to utilize some electric bikes to cruise through the winding countryside, amongst orchards of citrus trees and beautiful scenery

We stayed for only two nights and regretted not staying longer! Our next visit will definitely be longer!

The property was beautiful. Traditional Japanese style housing with stunning gardens, a stream with bamboo forest, Koi pond, and some modern touches for comfort. The owners went above and beyond in every way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. After a week, they began to feel like family. The breakfast and dinners they serve are seared into my brain because they are just so good…and eating while gazing out into the garden was such a zen moment. We’re sure to never forget this stay and I look forward to returning.

I loved our stay here, the small house was amazing and everything was super clean. The garden is spectacular just like in the photos. I booked with halfpension and both the Japanese breakfast and dinner (hotpot and BBQ) were delicious. The location is far from the center of Osaka, but we came for Mt. Koya which is easy to reach from the hotel with a paid shuttle service that was pretty cheap! There is also a free timed shuttle service to Izumi-chuo station though. I'd stay here if you want to relax, bike or hike!

The environment of this stay is amazing. There is a koi pond a little stream you can listen to in the night & with the sound of grasshoppers. The villa lent two electric bikes to us, so that we could explore the nearby mountain and its temples. The dinner was amazing (shabu shabu, Japanese hotpot) breakfast was great (traditional Japanese breakfast) everyone in the staff was so friendly

The property was meticulously kept and was in a beautiful quiet part of Japan. The owner herself picked us up from the train station and drove us back to Oukai Villa Izumi. The stay was relaxing, and the hosts were very helpful ensuring we feel comfortable and set up with anything we might need. This was one of our most serene parts of Japan with beautiful gardens and surrounding nature. The e-bike amenity was appreciated!
