You get to stay in an old castle for an affordable price. I booked the dormitory but got the "shared room" instead, which is a normal hotel room with cable TV and private bathroom, except someone else needs to cross through it to reach the room located upstairs(through a tiny spiral stair at the back). There was no one else the night I stayed (weekdays tend to be quiet), so I felt like I had the whole castle to myself. A buffet breakfast filled with different kinds of pastries (though they mostly taste the same) and plenty of fresh fruits was offered, in a large reception room with balconies overlooking Plaza de Mayo. I mean, seriously.

The location was awesome - right on the plaza! Loved the antique looking rooms with the high ceilings. A very comfortable place to stay.

Everything was great - the only slight downside I can even think of is that the room had very few electrical outlets, so just took planning to charge all our devices.

This place far exceeded my expectations. I found a deal and thought that it would be a place with the basic needs of a traveller but it was a beautiful spot. The hotel is old, so it can look a bit tired in areas but it was very clean and very comfortable and incredibly spacious. I ended up in a very nice room with two floors, a bed and bathroom on each floor! The open area for sitting is like an indoor courtyard and was beautiful to relax in, the pool was small but a nice temperature, and the dining area was large with a very tasty breakfast. Breakfast included cereal options, breads, fruits, cheese and deli meats, yogurt, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. It was very good. The wifi was good and I was able to do a lot of my work online while there but the sockets didn't work very well, they were too loose for most of my devices, which was frustrating. I ended up going to a cafe nearby to be able to charge my laptop. Despite the socket issue I would still recommend the hotel, it was very nice and the staff are lovely. I was leaving for two nights and the hotel was happy to keep my bags there safe for me until I returned. The location is right across from the main square and is walking distance to all the highlights of the city, it also means that there is something going on every day whenever you leave the hotel. It's quite the exciting area. Definitely would recommend staying here.

The sockets had oversized holes for my electronic devices. For the most part I was able to fiddle with the chargers to get it to work for some of my electronics like my phone but it would not work at all for my laptop so I had to leave the hotel when it was dying.

This is a classic early XX century hotel located on the very main square. I stayed in the huge shared room for 12 people,, but for the most part I was alone. The bed was comfortable and the shared bathroom was good. There's a refrigerator inside. I loved working in the restaurant area, where they serve a great breakfast included in the price. I also had lunch there for a reasonable price. Overall I recommend this if you want to avoid the noise in the party-oriented hostels that are also in the area.

Location excellent - on the main square. Lovely inner courtyard, breakfast room had great views over the square.

Ventilation in the bedroom lacking - inner courtyard facing so no window. A fan was supplied by the hotel once concern raised which helped Breakfast varied but given it was just after Christmas understandable

We absolutely loved our stay here. Rooms are so spacious and the hotel itself is spotless and has so much character. The breakfast was the best out of all the places we stayed in Bolivia. Located right in the centre and the staff are so helpful, we couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

Everything was perfect, so cheap and they had a pool and the best breakfast that I had in bolivia, everybody working there helped me with everything even if my spanish is not the best

Everything was perfect in our one night stay. They even let us check in way earlier than the time online. The room was exactly like in the pictures and opened up in a very pretty atrium. Clean and nice facilities. Location perfect.

Great location and colonial style! The pool was great. They did an early check in and the staff was great. I recommend it.

The room was gigantic and very well designed two lovely big beds. Very warm. staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast would be recommended.
