1) The location is great. Turn right, it's a half hour walk to colonial Olinda. Turn left and the beach goes on for four or five miles at least! 2) The room was nice. 3) The swimming pool is just long enough to swim lengths, though maybe not as big as it looks in the pictures. 4) Something I haven't seen mentioned in the reviews is the art collection on the lower floors of the hotel. I guess you'd call it Brazilian beach art nouveau, and it's great. If you stay there, walk around and take a look!

1) The big thing I didn't like was mosquitos at night. Even after spraying the room and wearing repellant, I was still bitten at night. 2) I usually get up early and am one of the first to arrive for breakfast. I figure if they say they are open, it should be ready to go. One day, the coffee wasn't ready; another day, the fruits didn't arrive until 15 minutes late.

The location was great, very close to the historic center of Olinda and also close to the beach. The pool area was very clean, comfortable, and nice. The staff was always friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, despite me not fully speaking the language. The room that I got was very clean, the bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was big, clean, and comfortable. And the breakfast was amazing and the waiters were always super nice.

The room had a small window that did not have a nice view. I was ok with this since I didn't stay in the room during the day.

Hotel Costeiro was a very convenient place to stay in Olinda, located on the sea shore, near a few nice restaurants and cafes, about 30 min. walk from the touristy centre of the town (Alto da Se). It was always breezy on the terrace and even in the room, I could just leave the window open and not use the air conditioning at all. The area felt safe, with people jogging and walking on the beach from the early morning. What I most loved at this hotel was stitting on their terrace and watch the sea over breakfast and I also found the bed very comfy and the internet worked very well too. Breakfasts were simply fantastic - fruits, fruit salad, hot food including yam, cassava, couscous, plantain, eggs, sausage, natural juices and for a few reals also a proper espresso. The room had a desk and a small fridge which was useful. There were also some colourful art and craft works decorating the corridors and the room - which otherwise would not have been very beautiful. I stayed for a week and had to book a room for an extra night because my flight was a late night one and the employees did not let me shower somewhere in the hotel before taking a very long flight - I would have appreciated that but understand that they could not or did not want to be more generous. There are cosier pousadas nearer to the centre but they are far from the sea, so I guess I would stay here ahain if I was to return to Olinda.

The room had no nice view, and was a bit dark. I would have liked more flexibility about the checkout but understand that a late checkput is not always possible.

This is my second visit, and the staff continues to be friendly and eager to assist. On a busy Saturday morning, I entered the breakfast restaurant, where only two people were managing the space. Despite the rush and food running low, they quickly replenished everything within minutes. They were fast and very attentive to the people.

Location ..staff ... bar / restaurant/ pool area at front overlooking the sea. Plenty of gpod bars and eateries within a few metres walk ...easy parking in front. Fabulous shower , room more than adequate.

All the staff were very helpful. Junior, the café waiter was amazing, an extremely nice person, and always ready to hear you with a great smile 😃

I was very impressed with how well maintained this hotel is. I know how hard the salt air and humidity is on buildings, Hotel Costeiro is not fancy but they have taken care to give this hotel character through the local art on the walls and the old time Olinda furniture in the halls. Breakfast was good and they made some of the best tapioca I've had.

Rooms are kinda small.

Staff was friendly and the location was amazing. Hot water and AC (not your usual split/inverter model, but working nonetheless) were also good, as well as the matress.

The accessibility is a bit off (there are no elevators) and there isn't much variety for breakfast. There was also mold in the room (in a picture over the bed) and a used q-tip on the bedroom floor.
