While traveling, we made a spur-of-the-moment decision to stay near Wilmington. We literally pulled to the side of the road to pull up nearby hotels. We tend to overlook Holiday Inns but when we saw it had a great review, we took our chances! I require a roll-in shower ADA room and they had one available. Score! It’s always dicey booking an ADA room as most hotel staff don’t know the difference between a grab bar and a roll-in shower! ( we had just come from a hotel where we had to switch rooms 3 times before they finally got it right.) This Holiday Inn was a most pleasant surprise from the friendly gentleman who checked us in, to the correct roll-in shower room, to the cleanliness, to the comfortable large room, to the ease of its location! Everything was perfect!

It was inconvenient that the breakfast closed at 9:30!

breakfast was good, up to the typical Holiday Inn Express standards. Although it would be nice if all the dishes and flatware did not have to be plastic

thermostat was a little tricky in the room. We could not turn up the temperature to 70 degrees without the heat coming on. I was also troubled by the presence of multiple small framed posters in the lobby area (3 total) warning guests about human trafficking. Why was this particular messaging throughout the facility and not others? and I don't think more messaging like this is a good idea

The staff are all super friendly and helpful. The room was as described and a great value for the price. The hotel is in a close proximity to a great pub if you don't feel like leaving the parking lot! It also provides a close proximity to the Christiana Mall without having to deal with all the incoming Mall traffic during the holidays. Breakfast was free and fabulous.

The fitness center was carpeted. Not many people will be using a fitness center while traveling, so it's a small issue, but due to this I wasn't able to fully utilize the space.

We arrived a little before 9 pm, when it was raining. We found a park and went inside to check in. The front desk employees were kind and recommended a few places for us to eat since we were hungry. The room and bathroom were nice and clean fairly well. I felt there was a lot of room to move around, and it was comfortable. Breakfast was nice and filled us up. This was a great stay for the price and our reasons for traveling. I would definitely stay there again.

This was a nice Holiday Inn compared to others we’ve stayed in.

My only complaint is that using the Holiday Inn website it booked us through booking.com. I would have cancelled our stay and stayed with family as some space opened up but booking.com wouldn’t refund our money (even though I was trying to cancel a month before the stay). Booking.com is a joke and I would recommend anyone that books calls any hotel directly to avoid using booking.com’s services.

The breakfast had a good selection and the food was good. The coffee was excellent and there was ample room to sit and relax during breakfast or just for a quick break in the afternoon with a cup of coffee. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were even marked "firm" or "soft" which I thought was a nice touch.

They did run out of some food and it was not replenished and it was still early (8:00). That was the only thing that was a little disappointing. Other than that there was really nothing negative about my stay.

Good location. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The establishment was clean. The breakfast was excellent; nice variety of selections. I loved the fresh, warm cinnamon rolls and their coffee machine that made you an individual fresh cup of coffee.

There was nothing I really didn't like.

The hotel has no entrance of its own and if you miss the entrance to the restaurant next door, which is how you have to get to the hotel, then you end up on the highway (I95) and you have to go to the next exit to get off and try to get there again. It happened to me four times during my stay.

The people at the front desk were very friendly!! The room was clean and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. There was a good restaurant within walking distance and only 10 minutes to our destination.

I thought the price was high for a standard hotel room but again i was pleasantly surprised by the comfort.

Great location for our activities. The entire staff is always friendly and accommodating.

This may sound a little picky, but I need to mention the weird lounge chair that seems to be in all the rooms now. Dont know what the style is called but it has two adjacent arms and a long thing seat. It is akward and uncomfortable, especially for my husband who is disabled. The chair seems to be in all the rooms including ours which was an accessable room.
