The staff!! So helpful and knowledgable about the area. The view from the deck was amazing, I was unwell during my stay and they were super sweet looking after me. Hajiba also took me spice shopping after my cooking lesson (note illness was not to do with the cooking :) ) Staff helped arrange a tour of Volubilis and a taxi to and from it- well worth staying over and going early to let to avoid the heat and the crowds. I can not comment in the town itself as I was unwell and did not explore it.

Was not an issue for me but there were a number of steep stairs in the building, so be mindful of that if you have issues with steps.

Excellent stay. The staff were so lovely - this is a great stay, the food was excellent for dinner and breakfast. The room was wonderful - even had electric blankets on the bed. Moulay Idriss Zerhoune is a great town to spend time in watching normal life in Morocco, locals were friendly, we spent hours down having tea by the veg market - and of course Volubilis is really close by. It makes such a change to staying in the bigger cities, such beautiful countryside nearby

Love, love, loved our stay at Dar Zerhoune. The location is great. The view from the terrace is wonderful. We especially enjoyed the kind, attentive staff. We took a cooking class at the accommodation one day and as well as learning how to cook a Moroccan meal, we got to learn about the local culture and experience shopping in the market. Room was nice with plenty of hot water and a heater that quickly heated the room to a comfortable temperature, we were there in February, so evenings could get a little chilly. We would gladly go back again. Very peaceful. One thing we would do next time is take advantage of some of the hiking nearby. We didn't get a chance to do that this time.

staying at this place we really felt like we were treated like family fadwa, hajiba, faiza and the rest of the staff were more than accommodating the breakfast was wonderful and traditional and no expenses were spared, the cheese was fresh the olive oil was fresh when we went to go to the hammam they offered us some traditional soap to take with us for example which i found really touching a wonderful building with an interesting heritage also apparently its over 400 years old and parts of it used to be a mosque بلاصة زوينة و ناس زوينين

location was daunting to someone with visual impairment - I should have booked more carefully seniors or any one with mobility problems would also appreciate more clarity as to the present of stairs or steep inclines each booking .com site should make it clear if there are any stairs to cope with either inside or out...can be frightening to encounter steepness or no elevators...I pour over the photos trying to see if there are stairs ... would be so helpful if it was clarified ... to front doors , streets, upper floors, or bilevel units - railings can be helpful but don't completely solve the safety issues.

This is a special town and a magical guesthouse. The rooms are thoughtfully furnished with textile carpets, well placed shelves and chairs. The artwork throughout the guesthouse makes it feel homey. We were able to check in early and were greeted with fresh filtered water which was wonderful. The bed was comfortable and had a cozy duvet (!!!!) perfect for the cool mountain night. Rose organized a donkey ride for us to Volubilis - it was so fun. Check out their work locally to bring care to donkeys - fantastic. Breakfast was homemade crepe like pancakes, corncakes, breads, spreads, olives, butter and cheeses. The view from the rooftop patio is incredible - mountains, valleys, and the ruins. We were sad to have been there for one night only. The people in the town are fun and warm. They treated us like locals. If we are back in Morocco we will spend at least 3 days here. It looks like there are great hiking trails in the area.

Dar Zerhoune is not too far from parking opportunities in town. Locals will offer to transport your luggage on donkey’s back if needed. The house has an artist vibe about it yet has preserved beautiful ceiling in our bedroom. Rose, the owner, is also involved in charitable projects. Meals are taken on the rooftop offering a beautiful view of the valley. Worth having dinner there as the girls are superb cooks. Finally, artisan soap in the bathroom was a nice eco friendly touch.

Our bedroom was quite dark and unfortunately the energy saving bulbs didn’t help much. Our mattress was way too soft for our liking but that’s just personal preference.

This was one of our favorite places on our trip. Moulay Idris is a great reset if you are burned out from the shopping hassles. We stayed 4 nights at 2 different locations, Dar Zerhoune, being one of them. Rooms were comfy and quiet. Rooftop terrace is beautiful with lots of different seating options. Food was great. We had traditional Moroccan breakfast most mornings and dinner twice. I got the vegetarian soup and Moroccan salad and it was delicious and filling. I always want to spend my money on businesses that are involved in their communities and Dar Zerhoune is one of those. Rose, the owner, has exceptional women managing Dar Zerhoune if she is away from Orocco. They also sponsor a Donkey Day once a month where locals can bring their donkeys and horses for veterinary checks. It’s not only care for the animals it’s educating the owners. Wonderful much needed program.

They only thing I could have used was a table fan. Maybe they had some and I just didn’t ask.

Dar Zerhoune is a lovely spot if you're looking for a place that is outside of where everyone else goes in Morocco. It's ideal for travelers who aren't seeking a spot with all the bells and whistles a luxury hotel provides but do want somewhere that is cozy and you'll feel like you're at home. The food is excellent and the room is comfortable.

-easy to find with good signage and clear instructions on website -delicious food at a reasonable price - available during Ramadan which we were grateful for as there were not many other options -good wifi -filtered water offered instead of bottled water -great shower -lovely staff -beautiful terrace

-no bathroom door in our room (separated from the rest of the room by a draw curtain), therefore may be better for a couple than two friends
