Super chill place to relax and let the world be. Clean Cabanas (nothing fancy but sufficient since you spent the days at the beach/in hammocks/at the Restaurant-cabana), reserved but very friendly staff. We knew that the current is too strong so that you have to walk a few meters to a natural pool to take a dip, but the beaches and peace/quiet is worth it ;) We'll come back! Rice and Curry and breakfast-buffett were simple but fantastic!!

My partner wondered why there are no cabinets in the cabana, but they brought one when he asked.

It is probably the best place in Tangalle: every detail here show they have a long experience (more than 25 years) in their job. The cabana where we staid was definitely comfortable and clean while at the same time giving the feeling of a natural mud hut perfectly located in a tropical environment. We were on the lagoon side and I recommend this lagoon to explore by kayak. Kayaks were always available just few meters out of the cabana. The restaurant is as well an outstanding point, with a wide range of choices and a friendly service as all the staff of the resort here, for our experience. A good point is also there is no music or noise: you just have the soft sound of ocean waves underneath the relaxing hours you spend here. Honestly, we can't say anything but warmly recommend this place.

Something to be warned about is it's better not to swim in the sea just in front, because of the strong currents. But this is a problem concerning all Tangalle beach, not particularly this place. What is not common in other accommodation choices, instead, is that here you can use a big swimming pool (also with a bar at water level)

The hotel was in a great location, within walking distance to lots of bars and restaurants. The staff were very helpful and gave us a tour when we arrived. The hotel seems to be connected the the hotel next door which is where the pool is. They allowed us to check out late at no additional cost and they also offered to provide us with another room later if we needed to shower. We did laundry and it was returned very quickly and was a good price.

The food served in the hotel restaurants is slightly more expensive but you pay for convenience. I wish we had stayed longer.

The staff is really warm and welcoming. If you need something. You can swim in the pool, play 8 ball pool or use a kayak to go to the lake for free which is really nice. You can also use sun beds and hammocks for free to chill near by the beach. It doesn’t feel safe to swim where the resort is. It is better to walk a bit to get to the nice place for the swimming. The resort looks nice but I feel that it could be better for the price, compared to other places we’ve stayed at for the same price.

It is the best to go to the reception because response time via Booking is not really fast. Depending on your room, WiFi can be good or bad. In our cabana number 8, it was not possible to use WiFi at all. If you take breakfast for 6.8$ per person, they will charge you 10% for the service.

We love the location here, we've been to the area before and our favourite bar is the Lounge so it's a really great spot for us. Walking out of your bungalow on to the sand and gorgeous garden is so lovely! We had monkeys and monitor lizards so it was great fun! The staff really were lovely and super helpful and the pool next door is big and a great addition specially for the kids of the group!

We found the food in the restaurant to be overpriced after spending a long time in Sri Lanka it definitely showed. That being said you can eat at other places nearby :)

The location was good, an easy 15 min walk into the town along a strip of many restaurants and bars. The grounds and front of the cabanas were kept immaculate, with plenty of hammocks sunbeds and towels for everyone. We didn't eat in the restaurant but they did a very good pot of tea.

The room was small with an oversized bed and table making it difficult to walk around the room. There wasn't anywhere to put clothes, suitcases etc, we moved the safe to the floor to allow more table space. The bathroom was very tired but the shower did work well. We were under the impression we had booked a cabana with a sea view, which we would have had but the trees blocked it. The description should have stated a garden view. We did like the balcony with the hammock.

A really lovely spot for a great overnight stay and rustic beach stay experience. The location is quite secluded but that is lovely as you don’t feel surrounded by tourists. Lovely cabanas located right on the beach, great restaurant and really lovely, helpful staff. Really lovely to hear the ocean at night, and cabanas are great to relax on the outside sofas in the evening. The cabanas are very basic but have everything that you need. If anything this adds to the experience. The staff went above and beyond to help my husband when he injured his leg and foot on the rocks.

Beautiful and peaceful place where river and sea meet. Upon arrival we were offered to choose between a traditional mud hut on the river side or stilt hut on the beach. Interior was the same but we preferred the beach side and chose the stilt hut only because of that. Breakfast was amazing and plentiful. Besides sri lankan style, pancakes and western style options could be selected. I'd recommend to go for the Sri Lankan Hoppers though. As the sea is quite stormy and underwater rocks make it dangerous to swim, the pool is a perfect alternative to cool-off. You can even rent kayaks for free to flow down the river.

Lovely beach, great pool. Many shade options. Good breakfast. Canoes available for a paddle on the lagoon. Other restaurant options nearby.

Couldn't swim at the beach as rocky and rough waves. Limited menu for dinner. Prices in USD and a little expensive. Mould in shower. Selected a 'side ocean view room's but couldn't see the ocean due the plant growth. A little over planted and needs trimming to walk on paths etc in garden area

We loved our stay at Ganesh Beach Cabanas. Seriously, what else can you ask for in a beach resort? Wifi was weak- they fixed the issue. Stay another couple of nights? No problem, best rooms. Breakfast on site? The best. Late night walks on the beach? Super safe and beautiful….even fell asleep in a hammock on the beach at 11pm- perfect. Awesome stay, great staff. Amazing location.
