It's a nice and clean hotel. The rooms are very spatious, with plenty of seating and windows for natural light. The bathroom is also very nice. Comparing to hotels in the city centre of Cologne, the price / quality is very good. It's nice to be out of the busy city, though the drive through the outskirts of Cologne, to get to the centre can be long with some traffic.

Small things show that the hotel is not of the high-end category: an amenity kit is missing & the breakfast could be a little bigger. Also for someone from The Netherlands, the beds are clearly too small & the pillow was a little too big and not so comfortable (though this is personal preference of course).

Very nice people with reception and in the breakfast room. We had their biggest family room and it was truly super! It was very large with enough space. There were two sleeping areas and a seating area in the room (no doors or walls seperating it). For us it was perfect. Enough parking space and a good and hygenic breakfast with a lot of choice.

The price was very reasonable. The staff was incredibly nice, and us speaking very little German was no issue as the staff we dealt with spoke English as well. It's about half an hour drive outside of Cologne, so it was a breeze getting there and checking out the city. If you do bring a car they have a place to park your car! We really like the area of the hotel too because it was nice and quiet in the evenings, outside of the hustle and bustle. Breakfast was absolutely lovely too. A nice change from the states where hotels are starting to charge outrageous amounts for a just a bagel. Absolutely would recommend!

I had made a reservation for October 20th instead of September 29th but the extremely friendly guy at the reservation desk changed my reservation without any problem while the hotel was fully booked but he managed to give me a room that wasn't operational. That's what I call service and it was their fault I made a wrong reservation at a probably lower rate than the normal rate that weekend. Great breakfast as well, probably the reason I came back to this hotel for the fourth time.

The hotel is very clean, rooms are comfy and breakfast 🥞 is delicious. We really appreciated our stay at the Am Freischutz.

It's a half an hour train journey to Koln. You need a car to get to the train station. Otherwise the area doesn't offer any highlights in walking distance.

This was a very nice stay, and everything was impeccable. Value for money was good. Being situated a few km from the autobahn, the place was nicely quiet at night, yet it was only a few minutes' easy drive to re-join the major roads. It was also at the edge of the small town of Gluel, so only a short walk to shops, bars and restaurants - very convenient.

A very good breakfast except for one small thing: Bacon was laid on top of the scrambled eggs! As a vegetarian looking forward to scrambled eggs, this was a pity. People who can't have bacon for religious reasons might also be disappointed. Why not just put the bacon separately? Luckily, there was a good selection of other food to choose from.

Very spacious, comfortable and clean rooms. The hotel is a little outside of the center but the road to center itself was fascinating. There is a vending machine for a snack or some drinks.

Cosy and comfortable hotel near the motorway, with parking, very lovely and helpful staff, good breakfast. No restaurant on site but a nice Italian restaurant 500m away.

The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was clean and spacious. The area was more rural, more peaceful. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend.
