This was such a pleasant surprise! I didn't scout the neighborhood at all, and turns out this lovely little hotel is across the street from a big temple with a moat full of carps, so when you enjoy your breakfast you get to gaze into the tranquil temple grounds, and you might also see it from the windows. Staff was incredibly nice and the room was basic Japanese size, with old wooden but highly functional furniture. The whole area was enjoyable and it's in walking distance from a small mountain range for a nice day hike, great views and bonus garden park. Probably one of my nicest hotel experiences here.

The weird old room metal door, also very Japanese style, I donno what is their fixation with those. They are noisy and leave gaps, anything but sound proof.

We stayed for 1 night on our visit of Ashikaga floral park; It was a convenient arrangement for a short stay. The bathroom tub was too high for a senior like me to get in. I hope they can look into it.

The breakfast could have been better with a little more choice for a non Japanese menu, eg : Scrambled or fried eggs and bread.

Opposite a Temple and in a beautiful old district of town, this hôtel was incredible value for money. The personnel were very nice, and everything IS Free !! From an excellent buffet breakfast for all tastes, excellent haïr produits, washing machine and dryer AT disposition, vendor machines, to bicycle location, slippers, kimono. They even found me a wool blanket to replace the synthétique quilt when I asked. I also profited from my small bathtub. Thé hôtel IS in a Lovely old district full of Temples and History, and a 10 minute walk from thé station.( Or 2 mins by bicycle).

Thé rooms and corridors could do with a bit of redecorating.

We had an amazing stay at hotel Wakasa. We arrived in the evening and were welcomed by a very nice and friendly older man who spoke a bit English. The room was very big and nice, we slept very well! In the morning we were very much surprised by the amazing view of the tempel, make sure to have time to visit it! We also had an included breakfast which was delicious! We will definitly stay here again thank you very much!!

It was a nice room with a nice view on the temple and forest next to it. It was about 10 minutes walking from the station and the staff were extremely helpful. The breakfast was included and was really nice too, some Japanese options and some more Western options as well. Good stay!

There was some rust on the drawer in the bathroom, so probably quite old and might need some taking care of

The complimentary breakfast was quite good. The property is in a very quiet and peaceful location but with numerous souvenir shops and restaurants.

Very tiny room for single occupancy but I think it’s very cute.

Excellent location, facing a lovely temple . Walking distance to reknown beautiful q attraction's. 10 minutes walk to AshikagaStation of 6 minutes train to Ashikaga Flower Park. Very good price value with basic facilities, very clean, excellent breakfast included

Decent breakfast. Very quiet and calm. Location is wonderful. We visited shrine early in the morning. Shrine view from hotel window. I love the place.

Only salad Coffee/Tea for vegetarian people.

Breakfast was amazing. Both Japanese and western style BF was provided without any fees. No charge to use the washer and dryer. Even detergent was provided.

It was very hard to step into the bathtub.

Charming personnel, great value for money, everything offered for free...super breakfast buffet, free bicycle, qualité beauty produits, and thé individuel room so cheap. Thé position opposite a temple in thé charming old town was great. I felt good hère .
