Perfect location for us. Staff were friendly and spoke English. A few flights of stairs up to our room so probably not suited for someone with impaired mobility. Room was well decorated and clever use of space. Bed was comfortable and furnishings modern. Couldn’t get regular TV channels but that just might be me. The wifi didn’t reach my room but worked in other areas of the hotel. Paid parking on hotel grounds but not many spaces so best to get there early.

It’s just a small thing, but the bathroom had no door and water pressure was very low. Still a lovely place to stay though. Basin was outside the bathroom, but I imagine this would be keeping in line with original plumbing specs from when the building was used as a prison.

The people working there were all super polite and very helpful. (!) Liked the aesthetics of the entire place. And I really liked the style and colours of the particular room, it looked a bit gothic and fit my halloween stay perfectly. ;) Central location: easy to walk to Almelo's center or the train station. Breakfast was nice.

Hotel might want to put some bleach on the white linen cause there were stains, but other than that, the room was clean and comfy.

Unique location and nicely renovated building and rooms.

In our initial room the TV didn’t work. The friendly staff upgraded us however to another room. Great service in the end! Some small things that could be improved in room A22; soap dispenser not well mounted, faucet is leaking, tv is not mounted level and one of the coffee machines is not functioning

Hotel is good, but the most important is the stuff. Jordi was at the reception when we came. He is just so polite, so nice, so patient. He has walked numerous times for us, to any questions he was happy to answer. He was also so friendly when we told we were from Armenia, the first Christian country. Just a superb service! Jordi good luck with your job!

I liked the interesting building and the very tasteful and cool interior decoration.

Half of the parking does apparently belong to the neighbour, with no possibility for the guests parking…I had to remove my car, but the young man at the reception has very helpful to walk me (under the rain !) to the outside parking - which is indeed not far… The breakfast is ok, but very boring: I would however have liked non industrial bread…and maybe some local speciality?

Hotel design as it used to be a prison. It's located in the centre of Almelo, so the location was great.

Having a toilet in the same room without having doors to separate it. There was not much choice at breakfast (especially vegetables and hot meals), and the buffet was only on certain days. On some days, you were asked to choose sandwiches from the list, which then happened to be not available or not prepared on time.

Friendly staff and our room was very clean and comfortable We even had a balcony and it felt very private No loud noises or weird smells or anything negative about this location Definitely recommend it

Quirky room that was quiet and with a very comfortable bed.

I rang the doorbell and nobody came. After trying to find another entrance I ended up at the same door and eventually someone came. The receptionist was very patronising, saying she'd write my parking place number down for me (6) because it was complicated! I received 17 emails about my booking in 4 days, many trying to up-sell stuff I didn't want. There was a mini bar and coffee maker in the room (no cups) but no price list. This is unsettling. Finally, there was some dusty food beside the bed that had been there a long time.

It was a very unique experience. Having the luxury of staying in what used to be three cell blocks that are now beautifully renovated.

We opted not to have breakfast as we found the price to be a bit high.
