I booked this hotel for my clients from London for a hiking trip in the High Fence and they absolutely loved it. I am from the region but moved to London in the early 2000s and did not know this hotel, to be fair I do not know much about the region anymore. The staff are great, very helpful and have a very good level of English. check in was easy, the rooms are large and clean and the booking process was easy. We did not eat but the restaurant was full on the first day so book in advance if you want a table. Nice bar area, ambiance and the pool was closed but a nice addition to the hotel. Also about 10 minutes walk from the train station downward, so you don’t need a taxi to reach there. It is located next to a great chocolatier(Darcy) and the main shopping centre so the location cannot be more perfect. Really a good discovery. I had to wait a couple of times for my clients at reception and they were very nice and easy about it. I had a glass of rose wine at the bar, great choice and only 4 euro 50. It is a busy restaurant and bar and yet it was quiet. And on the top of that it was a famous cycling race that weekend and most of the hotel was booked for the cyclists and it was still neat and quiet. I will definitely come back in a few months with other clients and some of those who would like to come back 🙂

Nothing we did not like. Fun enough, they had started with a new IT system and apologised if the check it was taking longer then usual but we had been served in less than 5 minutes for the 2 bookings so really nothing we did not like.

Not far from railway station. Stunning breakfast. Has extensive restaurant/bistro/bar complex, with an unexpected menu of quality Belgian beers. Commendable reuse of historic building.

Not hotel's problem, but the walk from station isn't far but not that pleasant, partly due to parked cars and this part of Verviers seems 99% dominated by cars, to the detriment of pedestrians. Although beer list is good, the menu data is pathetic, with no details on the pedigree/style/strength of the beers. Some of the 'local' beers are not, but brewed distant from Verviers in Hainaut province.

This is a very good hotel, offering nice and clean rooms, in a perfect location 10 minutes walk from the railway station and 20 minutes walk to the the center of the town. A huge parking lot should accomodate everybody. Nothing to complain about considering the staff and service. Cool restaurant downstars. Complemetary water, coffee and tea.

The toilet and the bathroom are separated. That would be OK if there was a place to wash your hands in the toilet (but there isn'nt)... The source of lights in the room are too scarce (it is too dim in the night). A ceiling light is really missing.

This is my go-to hotel when I visit Verviers most years in December. The room comfort is exceptional.

The hotel hosts events this time of year (December). The events are crowded, essentially shutting me out as someone staying at the hotel. I was diverted to off-site parking, which required a walk back to the hotel. Later, I parked closer, but in the next door movie theater parking. The hotel foyer was packed, restaurant packed...all I could was go to my room to escape the press of the crowd.

The room was nice and functional. Complementary water in the room. Very clean. Good location close to the railway station, amusement facilities and the center of the city. Nice restaurant for breakfast and evening dining.

Too expensive as for the offer. Noise from AC in the bathroom. Not very inspiring breakfast (you have fresh honey and Champaign, fair enough, but basic products one needs in the morning are of average quality).

A very good hotel indeed, with a small outdoor swimming pool and a very nice restaurant with lots of tables in the open air. Very good and plentiful breakfast. Comfortable room with everything necessary including a kettle, safe and plenty of pillows. Staff helpful. Not a town to stay in for long but for a one or two night stopover if you are driving it is ideal. Right next to the Darcis Chocolate factory/museum/shop which is a bonus as their cakes, macaroons and chocolates are excellent and the museum very interesting.

It's a little bit out of the centre of the town. Not a criticism, just a fact to note if you dont like walking.

The jacuzzi met our expectations and we made full use of it. First it was the kids turn and I wish it would fill up quicker, but still they enjoyed even the filling up process. THe playground with real fine sand resembling a beach bar was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was good and the coffee was excellent.

Jacuzzi turned on made a lot of noise and with the kids sleeping in the room, we didn't use it as we'd hoped. We ordered room service for dinner and must say that I wasn't much impressed with the quality of the dishes (I had Salmon and husband had steak. Pasta Bolo for kids). The quantity was huuuuge, so I would've rather had less of better qaulity. One last thing, after some time being turned on, the air conditioner was dripping condensed water. We had to turn it off or otherwise the entire carpet would be soaked.

Hotel Verviers Van Der Valk met all our expectations. We were a group of four people - all senior citizens in our 70's so we wanted convenient on-site parking, and on site restaurant for dinner and breakfast, comfortable rooms and wi-fi connections. The breakfast was excellent. Thank you.

The only thing that we didn't like was that the bar was very noisy indeed when we were there for a pre-dinner drink. When we went to the restaurant it was very much better and we could enjoy our meal.

Hotel was very nice and clean. Staff was attentive. Hotel had free parking for the guests and nice spacious garden. Summer terrace was quite nice for a quick bite and drinks.

Breakfast was limited in selection, but decent. We stayed in a comfort room with our dog. We should have picked a larger room, but room was nice for a couple.

I stay in this hotel from time to time to travel to Brussels by train the next morning. The rooms are large, well equipped and wll maintained, the parking is very convenient and the reataurant / bar is great for a glass of wine in the evening. Excellent though quite expensive breakfast.
