This is a very good home stay in the centre of Makassar. Well placed to see the sights. The hosts made us very welcome and were very helpful throughout our stay. They suggested good local warungs (family run restaurants serving one signature dish) which helped have confidence to choose local places to eat! They also suggested a local Landry that did an excellent express service. You can buy cold cans of beer from the fridge. There is a television in the room with a selection of channels (some in English with subtitles). The house is very clean and tidy. The breakfast is sufficient and was especially helpful as there is nowhere local to buy a western breakfast.

If you are two people with suitcases there is not much space in the bedroom.

The homestay is very well set up and tastefully decorated. Our room was large with ensuite bathroom and aircon. The bed was good, shower water hot, and aircon cold. A good breakfast is available (but not free). The hosts were wonderful and helped us book a city tour. The location is right downtown with easy reach of all downtown and waterfront activities. Easy walk to several restaurants. It is 10 steps to the end of the street, and Grab drivers found us easily.

All rooms are on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator. But we got help to move 1 heavy bag up (and stored one heavy bag on ground floor).

Marlah and George are very lovely people. Willing to help you in anything. Offer to facilitate transfer from and to airport as well for tours. Very handy. The house and room were very clean. Breakfast was good, fresh fruit, pancake, bread, pisang goreng, fried egg, coffee, the, juice. Upon arrival a bottle of water was offered, which was seen the heat very welcome. Air conditioning worked perfect. Bed and cushion were comfortable. Location fantastic.

Personally I would have loved an Indonesian breakfast, nasi goreng. In makassar are many mosques so you will hear the sound of them always, everywhere, inevitable. You might bring earplugs.

We had a wonderful stay at this accommodation, marking the start of our journey in Makassar. It was the first place we stayed at, and with no expectations, it felt like coming home to family—a breath of fresh air after a long trip. In the bustling city, we found peace and a warm welcome from George, and later, we met sweet Marlah, who treated us to a delicious breakfast every morning. Our expectations were exceeded by this lovely couple who were genuinely interested and eager to help with everything. They even gave us a bag of water and snacks for our long trip, drove us to the airport, and waved us off with warm goodbyes. The location is great, with many attractions within walking distance (just remember to bring earplugs for the mosque sounds).

Only the sounds of the mosque can wake you up in at night.

I highly recommend staying at Ge JacMart Homestay. I stayed at Ge JacMart Homestay for 2 nights and returned to Makassar to stay one more night at the homestay. The owners are very helpful and friendly. They arranged a car to drive me to Rantepao and also drove me to the airport for a reasonable amount. The location is very good! Close to 99 Mosque and Fort Rotterdam. There are convenience stores nearby and also good restaurants. My room was spacious and very clean. Two bottles of water were supplied and you can purchase cold beers and Coke on the premises. Wifi worked just fine in my room. I can't recall how much I paid for breakfast but it was reasonable and very good! If I return to Makassar, I will stay at Ge JacMart Homestay again.

The warm and overwelming hospitality of the owners: Marlah and George. They are like friends and helping where they can. They give very good advise, they serve a very good breakfast. The house is beautifull, very clean and very quiet although is is in the center of all interesting places and accesable by walking 🙂. I cannrecommend everyone to stay here, you never will be regret it. Next time in Makassar i will surely stay at the homestay of Marlah and George👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Our stay here was fabulous!!! The Homestay is immaculately clean and very comfortable. María was wonderful. She organized everything for us. Her driver Erwin was great. He picked us up at the airport at 3.30am. We did a day tour with him to the fish market, Rammang Rammang and Leang Leang. María also organized our shared car to Bara beach. María even packed us a little bag with water and biscuits for the journey. So lovely!!!The location was great aswell!!! Highly recommend!

I stayed only one night. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the water was hot. The internet was not working very well. The host waited for us at the airport. When I arrived there was no currency exchange office open (all currency exchange offices close at 5:00 p.m.). The owner helped us find an ATM and took us there by motorcycle. Very kind hosts. I only used the room for a few hours because we had to leave early in the morning because we had a plane. As a recommendation, use a taxi, the application for Grab works very well. The price was very good for the airport.

The owners are really lovely and helpful. The room was very comfortable and very clean. We paid for an additional breakfast which was also great and geared for western tourists. The location is great and close to a lot of locations. During our stay it rained a lot so we ended up going to the trans studio mall which was enormous with loads of food options (lots of play choices for children too and a snow world )
