Villa Angélique Saint-Denis de la Réunion We stayed at Villa Angélique in Saint-Denis de la Réunion at the beginning and end of our tour of the island. The villa is a superb little boutique hotel combining the charm of an old colonial house with all the comforts you would expect. This establishment deserves its four stars, as everything is perfect for a stay in Réunion's capital. The lounges are tastefully decorated. During our stay, there was an exhibition by a contemporary artist. The rooms are air-conditioned and all have private bathrooms. The bedding is of high quality and very comfortable. Breakfast is very good and can be taken on the terrace. It should be noted that the hotel has a lift, which is appreciated by people with disabilities or large suitcases. The hotel is 10 minutes' walk from all the city's sights; the Grand Marche, museums, etc. An address to be recommended. The hotel does not (yet) have a restaurant, but it would seem that this is in the management's plans. We recommend La Fabrique, an excellent gastronomic address run by chef Jehan Colson (www.lafabriquerestaurant.re), with a very fine wine list.

This is a gorgeous historic building in a fantastic location in the city centre - huge variety of amenities and sights within walking distance. The lady at reception was always smiling and kind, and the breakfast had a nice variety in the morning.

The rooms could have been a bit larger and cleaner - we found a cherry tomato on the floor from previous occupiers, and the room had an unpleasant smell after the floors were washed while we were away sightseeing.

Very nice and charming little hotel, very welcoming receptionist and well placed in the city. Within walking distance from pedestrian area. The rooms were a comfortable size and airy. With an additional Euro 30.- we could keep one of the 3 booked room for a late checkout (1PM)

We had ordered 4 breakfasts the evening before for the next morning (served between 06:45 and 09:45) and even though we showed up at 08:30 the breakfast buffet was almost empty, plates and cups and napkins were missing…The waiter then filled a bit up and provided for the missing dishes but it didn’t look like he was prepared for us coming for having the ordered breakfast which is for an extra Euro 18.- per person…

The hotel was beautiful externally and the rooms were stylishly decorated. It was in a great location and you could do everything on foot. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the Nespresso machine in the room was a nice touch.

Everything was great. We opted out of the hotel breakfast as it seemed expensive.

The hotel is an astonishing colonial house placed on one of the most beautiful streets of Saint-Denis. Made it perfect to explore the city or just relax there observing the surroundings. As we arrived, we were offered some welcome refreshing drinks which is always a touch of class. The staff was very friendly and ready to help. The room was very nice and comfortable without losing the spirit of the house. It also had some free coffee pods and water which is always appreciated. Definitely, we will come back there if we are back in Reunion.

We absolutely loved both our stays at Villa Angélique. The entire team was lovely. The house’s architecture and current setup are stunning and its location is perfect for explorations on foot. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

What a fantastic boutique hotel! It starts with the wonderful staff who made me feel so much at home in the short time I was there. I was offered a delicious drink on arrival while waiting for my room. My room was decorated with so much love and detail from the furniture to the accessories in the bathroom. Really cute and classy. Lunch was excellent at the restaurant. The staff took time to explain to me what was on offer that day and made the wine recommendations. I don't speak French but all was explained in English in the most patient way possible. The proximity to the center/walking distance to everything you need to see is of great value. It was quiet and I slept like a cat. Very comfortable beds and the Air conditioner worked perfectly. Thank you for making my stay so memorable

The breakfast is the only let down here. While Lunch and dinner features a brilliant menu, the breakfast could use some creativity here. This is the only weak spot of this brilliant hotel.

Excellent location, wood floors and authentic furniture, and stylishly decorated. Very clean, good bed, comfortable and quiet. Walking distance to restaurants, and bars, and shopping area in St Dennis.

Very comfortable bedrooms, lovely little terrace garden and very conveniently located in the heart of St Denis. The closest bus station is Jardin de l'État, which is very convenient as the majority of routes run through there. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The restaurant, which you can book separately, serves amazing food and drinks. The hotel is a beautiful building with a unique style to it.

The breakfast is a little bit on the pricey side, although it is stylishly presented. We just felt it needed a little bit more content to choose from, given the price. Also, it would be helpful to have a WiFi password provided at check-in, or at least displayed somewhere in the room.
