I had an amazing stay at Ceria Hotel in Yogyakarta. The property has a beautiful 1970s-inspired décor that gives it a unique and charming character. My room was absolutely fantastic—spacious, comfortable, and easily one of the best I experienced during my entire trip to Indonesia. The location is excellent, just a short walk to Malioboro Street, where we enjoyed strolling every evening. Breakfast offered plenty of options to suit different tastes, and the staff went above and beyond with their outstanding service. We also arranged day trips through the hotel with Yulis, whose service was truly top-notch. Thanks to him, our visits to Borobudur and Prambanan temples were seamless and memorable. Overall, I highly recommend Ceria Hotel for anyone visiting Yogyakarta—it’s full of charm, comfort, and wonderful hospitality.

Superb. One of the most enjoyable stays we've had in our travels. The buildings, decor and furnishings are all in the art deco style even down to the 1940's music that plays in the background creating a wonderful atmosphere. Surrounding each of the buildings is a beautifully maintained garden with many specimen plants. Great location, close to many of the tourist sites. Our room was clean, well maintained with a comfortable bed. The water purifier, cooler/heater outside the room was a very nice touch meaning ice cold water or hot coffee/tea was there whenever we wanted it. The staff at the hotel were some of the friendliest and most helpful we've come across. A good breakfast is served as well as meals available throughout the day, all of good quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay and would happily return and recommend the Ceria Hotel to others.

Great breakfast selection and exceptional hospitality. The staff are super friendly and professional and they do daily follow up with you on your room and breakfast choice too. The interior designs are really amazing and place is just absolutely quiet, clean, peaceful, yet located very central from AlunAlun and Kraton area. Great coffee and pastries too. High recommended and would come back again for sure!

Smoking space is directly outside the room windows. Although rooms are all non-smoking, the smoke smell from outside the window seeps in. Otherwise it is perfect place for staying in Yogja. Perhaps owner can consider relocating/ centralizing a smoking area instead of setting it outside the rooms.

I like everything about the hotel. It is really beautiful, clean and comfortable. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. We had welcome drinks and a piece of bread pudding when we checked in . The breakfast served was delicious and the portion was big. There's umbrellas that we can borrow since it's rainy season. The water pressure was great , there's hot water for shower. Distance from hotel to Jalan Malioboro was quite close. Probably 10 mins walk. Nearby a street selling gudeg! There's a mini market right opposite the hotel . The room was very comfortable . But there were quite some mosquitoes but it's ok, we killed them all upon stepping in! XD Love everything ! You won't be disappointed at all!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The breakfast was amazing with a variety of options every morning. The staff was incredibly friendly and always ready to help, making us feel very welcome. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the center of Yogyakarta, which made exploring the city easy. For the price, it’s great value for money. On our last day, we had to leave early, and the staff thoughtfully prepared breakfast for us in advance. Communication was quick and efficient throughout our stay. The room was comfortable with air conditioning and a mini fridge, adding to the convenience. And we loved the beds. Highly recommend!

Basic bathrooms with no division between the shower and the toilet Limited Western breakfast options; the hotel has a fully equipped espresso coffee bar on site, but only basic black coffee or tea is offered at breakfast; we twice asked to substitute our hot breakfast for a cappuccino and a pastry from the coffee bar, to which the hotel staff agreed, but the first time we only received our cappuccino an hour after the pastry, and the second time we didn't receive it at all. Better coordination between the coffee bar and the breakfast service would add a lot of value to the breakfast offering.

The building is very nice I think it was an old cinema but quite nicely renovated. Staff were very friendly and rooms were clean. Food was very well priced.

These are small complaints but the rooms are not too sound proofed so we could hear other guests quite loudly. The bathroom has no shower curtain so the whole room becomes soaked if you have a shower which made using the bathroom awkward at times. They also only clean the rooms once in your stay and are not flexible on timings. Not usually an issue but my wife was sick and she had to leave the room which could have been handled better.

We LOVE Everything about this place. It is for whoever wants to try something homey and quiet, with a warm ambience of your own home. The restoration and renovation of this old building are very successful in transforming it into a homey destination. They do not have phones in their room, so they use WhatsApp messages for everything, with satisfactory response time. Also, they got Netflix if you just wanna stay back. There's always a minimum wait for breakfast because the food order is confirmed the night before. While room service is delicious. The facilities only have a ground floor, so it is simple to walk around and easier to manage a group with a toddler and an elderly.

Minimal parking. For those coming with a car, it is better to liaise with the hotel to make sure you got space.

Had a wonderful stay in Yogyakarta! The room was super comfortable and I really loved the overall vibes, especially the charming vintage decor. Breakfast was good and very filling — a great start to the day. I also appreciate that the place has its own cafe. I tried the V60 brew and the cassava cheese cake — both were lovely! Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a cozy and stylish stay in Jogja.
