GREAT STAY !! The Hotel Alte Mark is very cosy and located in a nice area next to many parks, bike & walking paths. I recommend to try the restaurant of the hotel with an excellent menu and great service. You'll also find Die Knolle not far and accessible in a walking distance that is also very good. The room was cosy (even though you might hear some neighbors if they decide to be loud). The breakfast room is lovely and breakfast buffet was good ! All in all, I had a great stay and was happy to discover the surroundings.

It would be nice to remind the guests to kind of respect some quiet time during the night :)

Charming old property with a very well furnished room in keeping with its age. The staff were all extremely helpful and had an enormous sense of humour. The restaurant service was excellent as was the food. A beautifully presented property and we would not hesitate to stay again. Shame the church was not open for visits.

There is some parking available but not reservable so best to arrive early if possible. Having said that we did manage to get one in front of the hotel on a pavement parking bay. Our GPS struggled to locate the hotel which is several hundred years old so make sure you have access to Google maps as well!

The breakfast was included in the price. It was an excellent breakfast with cheese, yogurt, cold cuts and excellent coffee. We loved the different kinds of bread. Bravo! We look forward to returning to this hotel next year.

Everything exceeded my expectations. Compared to French hotels (all poor service), Alte Mark Hotel was top-notch, in sync with four star hotels. The description of the hotel was very accurate, the room spacious , the shower very clean, and the bed extremely comfortable. Bravo, Alte Mark made us very happy.

EV charging, my primary reason for choosing this hotel. But everything else was a pleasant bonus, a lovely spacious bedroom. A great evening meal in the restaurant and a good breakfast. Kettle and tea making facilities in the room, always a good sign of a quality hotel.

Can't find any faults.

This hotel is well placed on the perimeter of Hamm. It has easy access to/from the A2. This is our second stayover at the Alte Mark. It has everything you want; good beds, great bathrooms, excellent breakfast. It also has its own restaurant/pub which is open until 10pm. Parking is provided on the hotels premises. The personnel is helpful and friendly and make you feel welcome. Highly recommended!

The lovely view from the room and the location, the garden is beautiful. The beds are very comfortable and the place is spotless.

Room is very dated, but it was just for one night and the view made up for the decor. Clearly posted on the sign, parking is 5 euros in the hotel's lot. Breakfast, enough and tasty but simple fare.

We stayed at the Alte Markt as a stopover on our trip from Paris, FR to Kiel, DE. We chose this hotel for its convenient location, just a few kilometers from the motorway. We had some delay underway, and contacted the hotel by telephone. We were reassured that they would in some way let us into our booked room even if we were late beyond closing of the reception. We actually made it with 15 minutes to spare, and were greeted cheerfully by the receptionist. Note: the receptionist was fluent in English. Our room was located in a separate building, a few steps away fom the main buliding and in close proximity to the hotel parking. The room was large, had a great bed and a good bathroom with all amenities. The location is quiet and provides a good nights sleep. The breakfast was really good, with a large choice of food, both hot and cold. All in all, I give the Alte Markt high marks on all accounts. This is a really good place if you look for a stopover along the A2.

Reception staff is professional and polite. Hotel is very clean and is well located. Breakfast is very rich with wide choice of meats, cheeses, bread etc.

The only negative thing is that there is no even one channel in English language. It would be good to have BBC or Euronews and one mocie channel.

The breakfast was quite good.

I arrived on a Sunday and finding dinner was challenging. Hotel’s resto was closed, as were closest establishments. I found a nice place in town, but it was a hike.

Location and creative restaurant

TV was not working ( batteries in remote control) and fully deregulated. Breakfast is not filled up, bread missing, eggs missing and took long to be refilled... more vigilance needed!!!
