Exquisitely appointed spacious family suite, set in a beautiful period property, tastefully and comfortably furnished and well located for Calais. Carole, the host was in touch prior to our stay to ask whether we needed any dinner reservations made, which she did for us at a wonderful local creperie. She ensured we were greeted upon arrival, and was available throughout our stay. She also served a delicious breakfast with home made jams, and local yoghurt and honey. This is an address to return to for sure! Highly recommend as a family with mixed aged children but would have enjoyed as a romantic break or girls trip too, thank you Carole 😊

Wow! What a stunning house. Felt more like a home. We had a beautiful room, absolutely immaculate, with lots of attention to detail. Bathroom was incredibley spacious with a great shower and soft fluffy towels. Bedding was superb. Carole was very passionate about the house, it's history and the area. Sharing her knowledge with us upon arrival. Lots of history linked to WW1. Lovely touch with the honesty bar, crockery and cutlery available for use by guests. Breakfast was a quality continental offering. With homemade yoghurt and jams. You could choose what time you wanted breakfast,. which suited us, with an early start the next day. Lots of parking. Great value for money and we are already planning to return!

Being really picky, an earlier check-in than 5pm would have been nice! And a hook in the bathroom to hang my dressing gown.

Beautiful building with lots of character, very interesting history and excellent host. We loved the house martins swarming over the farm and hearing about the history. (We stayed in the comfortable Mozart suite). Our host booked us a table at the brilliant crêperie in the woods, L’Oree du Bois, for dinner and recommended useful places to shop in Cambrai. The location is extremely convenient if you’re en route to Calais so we will return.

The road by our room was busier than we’d expected but sound-proofing is good with windows closed.

Carole gave us a very warm welcome into her home. The house is very grand and we enjoyed looking through the historical information that Carole had researched. Our room was huge and comfy, spotlessly clean. Breakfast was great. A selection of breads and croissant. Homemade preserves and yoghurt which were all delicious plus cheese, coffee, tea and orange juice. After a day of hard driving back from the Alps, this place was just what we needed for a comfortable stopover. The honesty bar of local wines and beers was welcome and a great idea. Carole works hard to make sure you enjoy your stay, lots of recommendations of places to eat, see and visit. Highly recommended and we will return. Thank you!

Nothing.

Carole was an excellent host. Provided lots of history on the building with well put together folders for guests to read through. The room and bathroom facilities were spotlessly clean. Breakfast was plentiful. Carole recommended a place to eat on the night of arrival and kindly booked us a table at the crepe & salad restaurant which was close by, the food was excellent.

The only thing which was not a great problem to us was that the bathroom was not in the room however, we had access to a private bathroom. We were offered an upgrade to a room with the bathroom in it but declined as was not sure if this was at an extra cost and as we were only staying the one night it was not an issue to us.

After a warm welcome, our hostess Carole took excellent care of us the whole week! The long history of this estate is unbelievable and she told us all about it with wonderful visual proof of photos and articles. Our (family)room 'Mozart' was lovely and very spacious. The room is facing north to the very busy crossing of three mainroads with heavy traffic but it didn't really disturb us. We enjoyed the lovely French breakfast to the music of Mozart (who stayed here at the age of 7!), of course, and Carole's home-made jams, baking and fresh figs were the best! She also gave us great tips and all the information about the sights worth visiting and also about the restaurants in the area. We drove through beautiful small villages (always avoiding motorway) and saw some excellent art at 'La Piscine' and 'Louvre-Lens' and some gorgeous architecture like 'Villa Cavrois' and 'Familistère Guise'. Relaxing and fantastic holiday! À la prochaine!

Lovely old historic building in countryside setting close to A26. Plenty of space to park securely. Big rooms with wooden floors and stylish decor. Room was warm despite the size with a comfortable bed and good shower. Minibar downstairs to get a beer, with microwave if needed. Good continental breakfast with home-made jams and yogurts. Carole was very friendly and helpful and accommodated a late check-in and gave us an upgrade because an ensuite room was available. Good for a stopover on the way to Switzerland. Next time we will try to get there earlier to have time to eat locally.

This was a perfect destination on route to the tunnel. Rather than just a stop-off it turned into party if our holiday. A walk in the grounds picking apples and plums, learning about the history and sleeping in the room where Mozart once slept. A trip to the steak house next door and the brewery bar just down the road (amazing food here - cheap). We loved it.

Everything about this property was perfect. We adored our room and the property. The room was just perfect. The hostess Carole was just wonderful and full of local history knowledge, which there is lots. The hotel has been tastefully restored and we felt very special in our elegant room. Breakfast was lovely and Carole’s yoghurt is to die for. Easy to find off A26 too. Already planning our next trip.

Nothing we did not like.
