It's the most peaceful, quiet and beautiful place. Each cottage is totally alone, and all we could hear were the birds and the insects. Although rustic, the cottage is incredibly well equipped, with absolutely everything you need. The bed was extremely comfortable and there were 2 enormous fans to control the heat. Berlinda is a lovely host, available if you need her, but very respectful of your privacy. There is even a small, shaded pool at the reception area, which is wonderful to swim in.

Good communication to gain access to the cottage. Great setting in the middle of nowhere. Mobile connection was good enough in most places in the cottage (no wifi). Great hard mattress on the bed. Small jar of wild bird seed available (wasn't time to enjoy it) Cold drinking water in the fridge, thanks! Great driving trail for good bird photography. Got my Rufous-eared Warbler! Barely any light pollution for stargazing
Shower was difficult to get the right temperature..turns into a game eventually, which unfortunately wastes water. I tried to be quick though. No wifi, but understandable. Once mobile connection was available, wifi wasn't essential for my stay. If there wasn't decent mobile (for data), it would've made the stay pointless (for my purposes).

Absolutely incredible setting, breathtaking views with one of the most beautiful sunsets you'll ever see. Very affordable, with large cottages. The cottages are very clean, with very nice and chic decor. Really gives a feeling of being in the middle of nowhere, whilst being only a few minutes' drive from the nearby town centre. Highly recommend.
The shower in the one room did not drain properly, causing the water to quickly overflow. This was, however, reported to the hosts and they will endeaver to resolve this quickly.

The cottage was lovely. You cannot see any of your neighbours. The stars at night were spectacular.
It was very hot and an aircon would have been appreciated. A fan was provided but it struggled to make a difference in the heat. Not about the cottage but in the town of Prince Albert. Be advised that you need to book well in advance if you want to have an evening meal at one of the restaurants in town We tried to get a restaurant to eat at on Friday evening and most were fully booked.

An amazing farmstay at a working farm close to Prince Albert. We enjoyed the absolute quiet and being in the middle of the Karoo nature. The cottage is distanced from the main house and had everything we needed for our stay. There is a lovely braai area next to the cottage and the farm has kilometers of marked paths that guests can use for walking/hiking. The stay at Wolvekraal was one of the highlights of our trip to South Africa.

I liked the remoteness, peaceful location. The setup is rustic but it felt perfect for the location. We were able to walk around on the farm, perfect to photograph sunrises and sunsets. I booked here as I wanted to do some astrophotography. What didn’t I like, the toilet paper. Small thing, but anything less than two ply doesn’t make the grade. Apologies to my host for being so picky. WIFI could be a nice option.

Fantastic location. We loved the quiet, vast open space and the magnificent night sky. Great place for early morning walks while the town is just a short drive away. Units far apart ensuring maximum privacy. Rooms stylishly decorated.
We missed a few basic items in the kitchenette for self catering. Although fans were supplied, it was still very hot in the unit. Air-conditioning would make this stay perfect.

Berlinda met us at reception and allocated the Olienhout Chalet to us which was rustic, beautiful and had everything required. Such a peaceful place. Went on a walk and saw a big tortoise, an owl was in a tree nearby the chalet for most of the evening. Might have heard a jackal earlier in the morning. Upon leaving saw a bokkie. Berlinda thank you for your friendly welcome & also for your detailed recommendations of place to visit in Prins Albert. We had a wonderful stay. Oliver, Joan & Katja M.

It was so good to be able to buy meat and then braai it when we arrived - allowed us to make the most of the glorious skies. The location was wonderful - far enough out of town to have peace and quiet and beautiful skies, but close enough to be able to access Prince Albert easily.
An overhead fan for the whole room would have been more useful so that all the beds would have been covered.

A rare find. A beautiful, peaceful location, incredible sunset, star gazing and local wildlife. The cottage was charming, the off grid location magical and with everything you need to enjoy the Karoo. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and had prepared everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The cottage was immaculate and the fire ready to light which made for a fantastic experience. A perfect balance of embracing nature and comfortable living. I wish we could have stayed longer.
