If you are planning on travelling through Baviaanskloof, this is the perfect stop for either on your way in, or your way out. The hotel is very old fashioned, and the dinner meal portions were extremely generous. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were comfortable, with a large shower.

The WiFi was not working in the rooms which meant either going into the bar to do work, which is not great, or sitting in the dining room.

Everything about our stay was great. The bed was comfortable and the room was neat and tidy. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful even going the extra mile to assist us with a flat car battery, which we really appreciated very much indeed. The dinner that we had out on the front stoep was outstanding.

The room got very hot when the aircon went off during load sheddling. There was a very loud, drunk lady (who was not a resident at the hotel) who arrived and was shouting and screaming in the front area where we were having our dinner.....we would have hoped that the staff would have moved her off a little quicker.

The Hotel is not a new hotel but has modern touches like LED lights during load shedding etc I loved that they kept old signage and parts of the historic bits it so that it is still quant as that is the kind of stay that suits the area for sure. Such friendly and helpful staff, lovely food and the stoep is the best ever with a great view over a lush garden. The air con was a winner and a giant shower head which was great. Lovely large passage to our room and small personal touches made it a lovely stay. Very clean and neat.

Really enjoyed our stay at Ripple Hill Hotel. The building and gardens are beautiful, the rooms were very comfortable with generous sized bathrooms, an air conditioner (much needed in summer) and block out curtains. Great value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location is safe. There is a lovely restaurant/bar with a wide variety of food available. Highly recommended:)

Suggestion - opening the restaurant for a few hours on a Sunday morning for guests to grab a breakfast and coffee before leaving.

Friendly staff, clean facilities and good food with nice bar area and televisions.

No television or fridge in the room and poor wifi. There are three tvs in the bar though. The neighbour's dogs barking at night nearly made me get up and go do something to them. If you are a light sleeper like me then ask for a room further away from the neighbours. There is no swimming pool for those hot summer days. If none of these would be an issue for you then this is the perfect little place to stay.

Manager/owner assisted greatly with making special accommodation for us at a busy period. Great communication from the establishment. Easy check in and check out. Place was clean and staff was friendly.

what I did not like is out of the establishment's control. I made the booking and was double charged for the room. Booking.com has made zero effort to assist with this even after contacting them.

We spent a lovely evening at the historical Ripple Hill Hotel. The rooms and the beds were very comfortable with a spacious bathroom and lovely big walk in shower. Played some pool in the bar before dinner in the pub, which has a lovely atmosphere. We opted to have dinner on the verandah instead.of the dining room, as the weather was great for being outside. The food is good and great value for money.

Can't say there was anything we didn't like.

This is a quaint little family friendly hotel with a warm atmosphere. We only stayed for one night on our way to the Baviaanskloof. We stayed overnight on a Saturday night and the Hotel was closed on Sundays. The friendly staff recommended two places in town where we could have breakfast the next morning. We had breakfast at "Padlangs" and had the most delicious breakfast with Roosterkoek and other delicious choices which was only outshined by the beautiful views from the patio overlooking the Citrus farms and mountains. The little town of Patensie is a true treasure and must stop before you enter the BaviaansKloof Nature reserve with all its challenges and beauty!

Not a single thing. We enjoyed the town as it is and to try and change anything will make it loose its charm and authenticity!

We loved the old world style of the hotel and the charming style of the interiors. All the staff were warm and welcoming. We ate in the restaurant and the food was tasty and hearty. After our meal we took our drinks on to the veranda which was a lovely way to finish the evening. There was a bar which we didn't use as we'd been travelling for 25 hours but it looked like good times would be had there. We wanted to stay away from the usual tourist hotels and see a real bit SouthAfrica and I think we got that.

We were asked to select our breakfast the night before and the form stated that we needed to be on time. We were on time but it seemed our fried eggs had been waiting for us . A very small thing but a bit of an irritation.

This small town hotel is closed on Sundays, so no meals available. Pleasantly surprised overall, particularly with the accommodation and the exceptional ablution facilities, which would not be amiss in a five star hotel.

Too much noise from the passage way leading off to the bedrooms. Carpeting would help to deaden the noise.
