Location was great. The room was quite nice and comfortable. The breakfast was DELICIOUS and AMAZING! I use two adjectives because the food was fantastic (I assume it was made by our hostess) but then our host came out and did an actual slide show presentation on the history of the area ( focused on music) and things we should visit along the Cabot Trail (our plan for the day). They will ask when you want breakfast - we took the earliest slot to get on the road early, thinking we could eat quickly. But we were sucked into the presentation and learned SO MUCH! Totally worth the extra 30 minute delay. If you are going to the area to enjoy the music, your host knows EVERYTHING that is going on in the area for live music (and there is a lot). View is Beautiful! Wish we could have spent an extra day with them!

The only thing that would have been nice was to have a fridge in the room (instead of a shared fridge). Only because we were road tripping across Nova Scotia so we had a lot to put in the fridge and I felt bad that we were taking up so much space.

This was such a unique experience. Denise welcomed us and showed us around. She made cookies for us and had those and mints in our rooms. The room looked out to the water and was comfortable. Enough space in the room and good size bathroom. Shower was a little small. Comfortable bed and pillows. Porch to sit out on and look at the beautiful view. The breakfast was fabulous and Allan gave us a slide show and narrative of the area and places to see. The night before he gave us recommendations as to where to eat and music and dancing to enjoy. We ate at the Red Shoe Pub. Such fun and great music. The highlight was Allan playing his fiddle for us at breakfast. A fantastic place.

Nothing to write here.

Located midway between Mabou and Judique, Port Hood was the perfect location to visit the Red Shoe and the Acadian Cultural Centre on the same day. The B&B was large and comfortable with an excellent bed. Our room was located on the ground floor so access was easy. The excellent.breakfast was different each day. We also appreciated the slideshow. Illustrating recommended sites in the area.

the hosts were very welcoming and helpful about things to do in the area. at breakfast Alain shared photos and stories of the history of the area, and played the fiddle. more than other bnbs, all the details were thought of and provided, from good lighting to a shoehorn, lots of surfaces for suitcases and toiletries, a nightlight, welcome cookies and chocolate, ice for a sting, etc.. breakfast was delicious, nutritious, and thoughtfully served. we had a lovely stay!

Very clean, small guesthouse right on the water. The furnishings are quite simple but totally functional and clean. The owners are incredibly nice and the breakfast is really exceptionally good. The innkeeper plays the violin during breakfast and has lots of stories, knowledge and tips for the region. We would come back again!

The beds were terribly worn. It would be good to renew them!

Lovely stay with a view of the water. The room was comfortable and well appointed. The homemade welcome cookies were a nice touch! l appreciated being able to make tea and coffee for myself. Breakfast was a hearty affair with homemade breads and jams. Alain entertained us with some fiddle and an informative history of the area. All in all a lively place to stay.

Nothing - it was all great.

The breakfast was spectacular with a tasty frittata, fresh fruit, and homemade preserves.( Must try the pumpkin). Our room was clean and comfortable, with a spotless bathroom. Location was excellent with most sights within walking distance . The village of Mabou is a short drive away, where we were treated to a traditional Cape Breton ceilidh at the Red Shoe.

Absolutely nothing!

Great view of the sea. The bed was comfy, and the place was very clean. Enjoyed the cookies and chocolate left in our room. Ice in the freezer was appreciated. Plus, help unloading was appreciated. Info in places to ear and local.music was perfect. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. We lived the homemade bread, too. The area history and info Alain shared with us was great. The tune on the fiddle was an added benefit. Great experience!

It was all great, no issues

Excellent and gracious hosts. Very tidy room with everything you need and more. Very well appointed decor. Exceptional breakfast that was served like a fine dining restaurant. The topper after the breakfast was a wonderful story of fiddle music and its origins. The host then entertained us by playing several fiddle songs. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Nova Scotia.

There was nothing we did not like.

Denise and Alain were terrific hosts. The breakfast was the best we had on our 11 day trip to Nova Scotia with homemade Quiche and homemade bread. Denise was very accommodating and couldn't refill our coffee cups soon enough. Alain played his fiddle for us at breakfast and gave us several travel tips (Colander Road sp? very scenic, Hike to Egypt Falls, and the Doryman restaurant for music) that we followed and enjoyed each of them

all good
