Price, cleanliness of shared toilets and showers, proximity to motorway and to a very interesting anomaly in the French - German border. The main road, 1km from the hotel, has 4 parallel sections: a northbound slip road on the French side, the main drag carrying the vast majority of the traffic, another southbound slip road on the other side of road, but still in France, and a SECONDARY southbound sliproad of the very same road which is in Germany and which has its own small set of shops and bars in Germany which lie 10 metres from the border. Also, these places often seem to present undesirables hanging around, but strangely they cause no bother at all.

It's nearly impossible to bidet unless you use the toilet flush as a bidet or bunk up onto your angle set sink in the room (just possible for me as I am fit and very tall). Better to have a plastic, hospital style bed bottle if you're a man, and women MAY wish to take a coverable bed pan equivalent. Otherwise, you end up fiddling about with 50m walks, combination locks and bright, sleep-destroying lights in the corridor. No toilets in the rooms...main reason for cheapness.

Despite a scruffy exterior, the communal area and bedrooms were very good. Lovely, ‘vintage travel style poster’ wallpaper and exceptionally clean bedrooms and bathrooms. Great free breakfast and friendly staff. We were on our way to Switzerland and Italy so perfect half way stop from Calais.

Bit tricky to access front door after staff had left. The keyboard was low and no lighting to see numbers clearly.

This was the best hostel I have ever stayed, the building is new and recently opened so was spotlessly clean with no expense spared on fittings. The room was large, the bunk beds had individual curtains, lights and plugs for chargers. Towels were provided and the showers were spotless and large. A real 5 star hostel.

Nothing it was perfect

Good price, helpful staff, location next to the expressway, spacious room.

The code to the room didn't work and the reception was closed already since we arrived late in the night. However, after calling the emergency number written in the reception, a staff member came and fixed the problem. :) No other things that we didn't like.

It's a neat little hostel, good value

No English or German spoken by the staff. I suggest getting a tablet with Google Translate to help.

The price is awesome! We were there for a few nights and it was absolutely great. Easy to check-in and check-out, cool beds and working shower. Everything for low-budget travelers. ;)

There is no sink in the toilet, it is only in the room.
