This is a very basic homestay. Kam is the owner and his family look after the operations. The family are very friendly, the rooms and bathrooms are very clean and the outdoor area (veranda) is great and very peaceful. It’s a long walk to town but only a couple of dollars for a Grab. Kam paid our Grab for dinner out and personally drove us to the jetty in the morning. It was a perfect place for us, great hosts. Can’t fault it.

The pictures on the website are dated. For example there is no TV and the inside lounge is arranged different. But TBH a television would spoil peace and quiet. It’s pretty great as is.

The people who run this place are exceptional. We had to stay longer as the ferry to Tiomon was delayed by a two weeks. We stayed at this accommodation. They were really helpful toward us. The place is immaculately clean. They neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We will return. Eating options below. It’s a little distance from town but you can walk it. They are happy to arrange grab taxi. There’s a burger stall at the end of the road turn left open 3am. A breakfast/ lunch place end of street turn run and walk to T intersection. A good Chinese restaurant a bit of a walk (about 15 mins) near the HUGE Chinese temple that looks like a school. Laundromat about 20 Mins walk.

It’s a little distance from town although you can get a taxi or wish to walk.

Mersing Maple Villa is in a good location, accessible, clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The owner and his mother made me feel very welcome. The room I had was spacious and cool. It was the perfect place to stay overnight before catching the ferry to Pulau Tioman the next day. This guest house would also be ideal for a longer stay, of 2 or 3 nights, as well. There are quite a lot of island hopping day trips to do out of Mersing, and Maple Villa would be an ideal base. I highly recommend this accommodation, one of the best I've stayed in.

Lovely clean spacious rooms, maybe 5? with access to several comunal areas. The rooms are well soundproofed and it is at the end of a road, so very quiet anyway. Plenty of Warungs and restaurants close by. It's run by a friendly family with Kam being the contact point as his English is very good. (He loves a chat) He is more than happy to answer any questions and provide any assistance he can. Can't recommend the place highly enough.

It is always hard to believe a review that is a 10 and has nothing wrong with it, so here are a couple of things that some would call a negative, but it was great for me. Some would think it is too far from the centre and I didn't see a television. The bathroom is small but usable.

The owner, Kam, was exceptional. He picked us up in the middle of the city when no grab responded to our requests and he drove us the same evening to the city centre so we could get something to eat. After dinner, he picked us up as well. The same happened in the morning when we had to get to the harbour. So friendly and visibly a good person! The room was clean and what we expected. Perfect for a night stay before going to one of the islands.

It was all good. We have nothing bad to say about this.

The villa is not far from Mersing jetty and is very clean and quiet. Our room was very spacious, super clean, the bathroom had everything we needed (shampoo, soap, warm water). The beds were very comfortable. There is a fan and an aircon in the room. The aircon is working perfectly. Our host, Kam, was very very nice. He drove us everywhere and picked us up again free of charge: after we arrived in Mersing, when we needed to eat, when we went island hopping, when we departed. Kam speaks English very well.

Everything was very very good.

Kam is a superb and kind host. We stayed just one night as we were catching the ferry to Tioman in the morning. I was, for some reason, expecting the accommodation to be walkable from town however it was a few minutes drive away. This was no problem at all as Kam was happy to collect us from town then later drop us in town for dinner. In the morning he dropped us at the ferry terminal. Really outstanding. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable.

The en-suite bathroom door could be a bit more soundproofed. The room could maybe do with some softer lighting.

The place is very clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and beddings soft to the touch. The quilt cover was so soft and comfortable that I even asked him the material that he used. He gave his input willingly. The host is very friendly and thoughtful. I had a question about booking a parking lot near the jetty and asked for his opinion, surprisingly he took time to clarify personally that such booking is not necessary. That saved me from spending unnecc expense. He gave ideas on where to eat around the area too.

We had a car so moving around town was relatively easy. But I anticipate that non drivers may have difficulty in finding food.

It is very clean and with home style. The garden outside is large. Dinner in the garden in the evening is cool and comfortable. 1 km away from the Mersing jetty suitable for driving and free parking.I have been to Dioman Island several times before, and I live in hotels near the Jetty. Dirty and small. Sleep one night for easy to take ferry. This time I found this hotel, and I would never stay in those small and dirty hotels in the future. This hotel is really cheap. I will live here next time.

I have never seen such an initiative host before. It was such a wonderful experience booking Kam's place. Kam is so so so amazing, kind and generous. He is so thoughtful. He knew i was coming from Singapore and since i did not book the bus to mersing yet he suggested to me that there are buses directly to SG and he came to fetch us from the bus terminal, drove us to supermarket and jetty. The house is super clean and so systematic everything is well explained and written clearly. we bought icecubes and kam passed us styrofoam box to put our ice in too. I stayed here before going to tioman when i came back to mersing to take bus to go SG i had 4hrs to kill and just asked Kam if he has any drivers to suggest he searched on that but since it was too ex i asked him a favour if i could just come and be at his public area till my bus timing. he said no problem and came to fetch us again and brought us to buy dinner and even gave us towels to shower before our bus and sent us to bus terminal. I was so touched and shocked of his kindness. I will def book again. Thank you so much Kam, truly enjoyed my stay.

there wasnt toothbrush and tooth paste, so please buy before going. It is normal that there will be mosquitos at the public area so do go prepared to be bitten.
