Very peaceful heaven nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the usual Costa Brave resorts. This is country side. Still you are only 10 min away from vivid Palamos or romantic Palafrugell. 20 min walk to one of the most spectacular beaches of the Cap Roig region and paradise for hikes and extensive bike rides. Enjoy the tranquility the vast grounds got on offer or enjoy your absolutely stunning room, which sets you back in times. Beautiful pool. Nice garden. A highlight - the outside breakfast ! The staff is ever so friendly . The restaurant offers amazing quality at very decent prices.

impossible to not like this place , but we were missing cushions for sunbeds at the pool. And some of the exterior furniture has seen better days.

The pool area is rather bleak and could do with some plants and tubs etc The restaurant was a bit soulless and hard to get into !! We tried several times only to find we were trying the wrong door Only one waiter for 16 covers on the night we ate there The very luxurious marble shower needed a good scrub as the grout very grubby

The size of everything: the room, the bed, the bathroom, the terrace! We also liked the outdoor space, the gardens, the swimming pool area... in short, the spaciousness of everything! The friendly welcome and atmosphere around the whole place, the free car parking, the restaurant & staff were all part of the total (positive) experience...

It seems strange that guests are expected to have breakfast outside on the terrace in 17°C, as all outside tables were dressed & set... the inside tables needed dressing while we waited to be seated...

So quiet, absolutely stunning location, and just visually very pleasing to look at. Gorgeous gardens, interior design so comfortable and really welcoming and chic. The personal breakfast displays were DELICIOUS, all the hot food options were cooked to order, and the fruit selection changed everyday.

There was a little mould in the bathroom in our suite, but other than that— loved it.

Lovely stylish hotel set in the Catalan country side but close to the beach which is only a gentle 15 - 20 min walk away through a small forest leading to a picturesque bay. It is a very dog friendly hotel. We and our 2 Golden Retrievers enjoyed the stay very much.

The restaurant did unfortunately not meet the quality standards you would expect from a 5 star hotel but probably due to low season.

Everything was wonderful—the atmosphere, the staff, and the beautiful rooms. Everyone is very kind to animals; they even brought bowls and a bed for my dog to the room. The property is beautiful, with a large pool. It’s very peaceful and quiet.

There were issues with the internet—Wi-Fi barely worked in the lobby and was completely unavailable in the room

Went for a quick holiday for a few days and really enjoyed Malcontenta. It's an ideal spot if you want to visit the small towns of Costa Brava and great for some hiking/trekking. The restaurant is fairly standard catalan fare, but quite good and the convenience is worth it. There are nice walks to the beach, which is fairly secluded. We were not there on warm days so we didn't use the pool.

It's rated as 5 stars, but they are missing many of the small details that make a 5 star experience. There isn't really a spa even though there is a shack outside that seems like it was for massage. The restaurant wine selection is just ok and the overall vibe didn't feel as welcoming (when I think 5 stars I imagine nice music, nice aromas, a free drink, and some free snacks). Also, while it didn't end up being warm enough to use the pool we had planned to use and were told that we could not even though it said in advance that we could so worth checking to see if it's open. We were there in middle May.

Gorgeous property and very unique. The rooms are huge and well decorated. The decor and facilities were top notch! The breakfast was A+

Restaurant was disappointing. Such a beautiful location but the dinner did not match the quality of everything else by far.

Beautiful and elegant hotel in a historical house surrounded by vast and lovely garden. Really calm and relaxing atmosphere, staff is friendly. Dinner at the restaurant was quite delicious, and the served breakfast also good and plenty. My room turned out to be up a narrow and high staircase - I'm glad there was possibility to change it to another one, although with some extra fee. That other room was spacious and comfortable with a great marble bathroom. Actually enjoyed being there and definitely wish to come back for a longer stay.

the sofas and curtains in the room were covered with white fabric - and it seemed to me it could be more clean. It the evening it was quite cold and draft in the restaurant. Otherwise is fine.

The hotel, the rooms, the staff and everything around it is just amazing! This is the second time I have been there and I will definitely come back. A total gem at the Costa Brava! I was not at all malcontenta.
